September 1889

1 Sabbath. Beautiful day. a large congregation . Two funerals announced. Wesley, a young man from Lancaster who died in the North West. and to be buried in the {?} of Lancaster, this afternoon And George Fergusson (Sandy) to be buried tomorrow
2 Very fine day. very hot
3 Another fine hot day. Jimie & Murdy mowed the oats on the 30 acres today Pa paid Jim Finly $450 for horse doctering. 4.50
4 Wednesday. Very hot day mercury very high
5 I went to Lancaster this morning got Bird 10 yds Milton cloth 20 cts pr yd = 2.00 2 yds waist lining 14 cts = 28. 3 1/2 yds shirting 10 c 35, 24 yds braid 60 cts 1 pair cashmere hose 35.. got Marion 1 pair Cash. hose 35 cts Myself 1 pair 35 - 2 pair at 10 cts. In afternoon went to womans meeting at Allen Grants Dutch, Good meeting 14 members 3 visitors I paid the presbyterial fee of 10. My offering 60 Got pay for the fraight of bundel for N.W. Boys put in the oats of the 30 acres 35 555 60
6 Fine day got 1/2 bush salt 20 cts 20
7 Got beef 70 cts
8 Sabbath fine congregation
9 Done my usual work. Jimie sick with neuralgia Murdy & Pa doing the work got 9 lb beef 5 45
10 boys finished the harvest. but buckwh
11 Pic Nic at St Raphels Murdy went got 50 Far came home today to go to the Pic Nic 50
12 Jimie drove Hatty & Birdie to Alexandria to attend the {?} . McCormick got Harry to go to Alexandria and will bring the girls home tomorrow loaned Bird $500 Borrowed $.1000 from Far for Jimie to go to
