work done. We were all looking for Arthur Broderick to come to go to church. Bert I got on horse & seen nothing of him then Alf hitched up & took Sarah & I up to Mount Pleasant. We went very fast. Had good sermon. Minister then gave it out again about Ma. When we came out we seen Ida & Annie Bro. & they came after we went. I shook hands with Geo. Peacock, Mr. Giles, 'Marlow' & seen {"Persy" ?} but not to speak. We had splendid drive home. My hat blew off. It rained & & we had to put cover over us & Sarah sitting on my knee. Ida home B.4. us & it on 9 when we got home & to bed.

Mon. 22nd./ 84. It raining & us washing. Blandina came in & Watson, Mrs. Mc. came up & I upstairs fixing album & layed on Frank's bed & went to sleep. boys milked. Night of Lecture but no one went from our house except Joe. Mr. Bro. came & talked & I dictated to Sarah & timed her. Ma worse had very bad pains.

Tues. 23rd/ 84. I sewed my jaket & N. gown & then M.W. & I went to gather cucumbers & tomatoes & Ida going to Bronte & I gave her a large one to take to boat & she made such a fuss over it. Mable came back with her & I help get dinner. I straightened and she & I put down cubrs {cucumbers}. My tooth got aching & I layed down about 4. But B.4. M.W. cut out my dress & making it & I gathered frill & Mrs. McCley came up in rain & told us Mrs. Colton has gone to rest at last. Isa & Mabel cracking
