8th Gordons Birdh Day 1863 East Wind Raining one of Lewis's Boys here for Butter and Tea took an axe-handle one of ours Doin no Work Had a Breakfast of herring Bought a Dozen wrote a Letter to the Kansas City Star put 25 cents in it did not put it in the Post Office yet Rained hard to night

9th Rained some W Wind Turned Fine water on the ice Fernandez went to cut wood at Careys Ed Renshaw home with our hay fork Jo Viponds Social to night Leander went acrofs

12th Fine Day Doing nothing Hollsworth here wanting some Work Ed Renshaw here Indians commenced to Day to go to Tupper Island for Wood 2 Teams and 2 on scates 2 of our Boys went to Dundee Heard a Man was caught with high Water at Bombay and Lost his Horse caught some Pike

13th Raining one of Lewis Boys for 2 inch augur Fernandez went acrofs high high Wind this Evening Windy Windy to night
