Mr James Cameron Island July 26th 1863
Sunday 26th Livinia Gordon Sandy & Myself went Down to see Charles Tupper for the First Time ever she or Gordon was on the Butternut Island Took Dinner there got Cucumbers got A Birmingham Paper a great Many Rafts a Going Down
27th Mowing Below the Grove side of the River Down at the apple Tree Gathering Behind the Garden Wind very high
28th a Fortunate Day put in 3 Loads of Hay cutting some on the Lower Point Went to Mayorells to see about the Hay a Great Many Cranes a Flocking Berries Plenty currants Plenty Blackbirds Bad
29th Went to Williamstown for the Boys Charlie and I Bought of J McLaurin 200 Bricks no change took 30 More Brick for 5/- 2/3 a hundred he sells them Working at the hay on Murdys Place
30th Put in 1 Load the Rain commenced Mowing
31st Mowing got a Paddle From the Indian John Birch here gave us a Hooker and Left us a Hooker 2 Men with him
1st of August Mowing in the upper Feild Put a Board on the calf a Race the Huron & Alexandra John Rankin went Down with George Renshaw or George went down with him Racing took Breakfast alone in the new House
2nd Sunday Boys Picking Berries Went to Christees Got the sash from him for the snaith 4 of them all clear now eat Corn Black Berries
3rd Mrs Morris Ellen & Mary Birch here for Berries Gathering Hay Put in 4 Load of Hay Ellen stopt Mr Watson & Mr Spencer here all night Jacops Wife for salt got 3 EEls from here
4th Thats 16 Loads of Hay in the Barn now

6th A Fortunate Day Rained some Last night the Black Birds almost Finished the Barley at the Peas Tethering Gray choke cherries Turning some
7th a Fortunate Day I Went to see Norman about Kimball Affair Bought of GA Streeter 1 Pair of Boots 4..25 Lace Boots $1..37 1/2 Cents this is a Beginning of an account Bought of Minkler 2 1/2 Calico 45 Cents Crackers 8 cents saleratus 8 cents Bought of Congdon Turpentine 5 cents salts 10 cents Bought of Derushie 1 lb candles 20 cents Whiskey 40 cents cloves 2 cents Saleratus 8 cents a Treat at Normans of Beer 12 1/2 cents paid Bought of Buchanan 14 M{illegible} 21 cents Left 25 cents with Norman to Pay the cooper American Money took Dinner at Mrs Morris's Gave Morway a Ride Down James Hugh at Fort Covington with us on the Boat for the first Time John Angus came
8th My Canoe taken away this Morning By the Prescott Pilots went to look for it at Hamiltons Sent Sandy & Jack to Frashers Point Found it there 2 Men here of Calvins Raft Left an Axe for there Board which comes to 6/3 Lost all Day Looking for the canoe Highlander went Down Cameron Raft going Down Black Birds Very Bad Pease Ripe some of them the Barley all eat Henery making a stack on Francis Island Hamilton Thrashing Wheat Sandy & Jack for the Canoe to Frashers Point found it took it home
Sunday 9th Went to Williamstown with the Boys Allen I Hugh and John Angus Brought currants Cherries
