Sunday Cold David Morris's Birth Day cutting hay Emmanuel here to Lancaster with Nicholas Furlinger Took in all Top Onions see or Black seed Took in all Potatoe Onions About 1 Bushel Pulling the Black Seed onions cut the Tops of the carrots and Beets cabbage seed Pepper Grass seed all Ripe some carrot seeds and Beets Ripe spread out some heads of Tobacco that the wind Broke Down Let the Mare go the calf sucks alone or Drinks alone cut some corn stalks Lashey started to Fish at Cornwall

11th George and Bets Bone came Done Putting in the Wheat 4 or 5 Loads of Peas in commenced to Rain they went off

12th cutting and taking in the Tobacco spreading hay Turned the Pease cut some corn stalks put in some onions

13th put in the cellar 1 Bushel of Potatoes for the First our own Planting Pickling the Cucumbers a 1/2 Barrel very windy time now

14th Thunder and Lightning George and Jimmy Bone came Put in the Last of the Pease Took over 20 sheaves for straw for Hats. Black Cherries Ripe Turning hay and coiling some Began to Rain Lashey Came Cut the Pease off the West side on the East side of the Barn something wrong with 2 of the Rams cutting the Hay next the Front Marsh

15th Cutting Hay Took the most of the Tobacco cut it all in the Back Garden Frost to night near the Morning Lashey Made a spear pole Took in 1 Bushel of the Black seed onions Emmanuel here to night all night

Sunday 16th Charlie came up

17th Raining East Wind

18th Charlie and I to Williamstown Brought out Tobacco EEls cucumbers Carraways cherries Charlie Brought a Dog and sage Heard Dan was Teaching at Ormstown stopt all night James Summers Merchant Williamstown Married to Day to Mifs Robinson stopt at Charlies coming Back Brought up some of his things to sell for him Gave me shovel and a pot for old Iron in exchange 2 pullets to the Baby Found a short peice of Pine

24th Put in 9 cocks of Hay put some on the stable Loft 3 sheaves of Cornstalks 2 in the barn cut the cornstalks all the onions up stairs Picking some cranBerries

25th set the Line caught some Perch Broke the Point of my scythe shot a Duck

26th cutting in the Back Marsh

27th took home a canoe Load of Wood from the shore side

28th Putting in Hay a cock or 2 got some hay amongst the Wild Pease Lashey came

29th St Mat and all Angels Fishing Mary Gordon and myself plus a small canoe 3 Men here hunters Americans Mr. {illegible} Artificial Leg maker from Potsdam Gave me his card Bought 1/2 Bushel of Potatoes a Melon he Gave me 70 cents American Money

30th Went Down to see Charlie Livinia Gordon Mary the Ba{cut off} and myself took Dinner with Charlie I suppose for the Last time with him on the Butternut Island as he is Preparing to Leave soon for his native Land England a Fine Day Charlie came up with his ashesand irons Rags

1st of October Charlie and I Had a Treat at Normans paid this 2 Bunches of Matches for Emmanuel down with us took supper then heard that Betsy Bone had a Daughter some Last Week took a Box of Ashes up for Luke Court Day in Dundee Christee here

2nd Blowing to Day hard, Gathering a Few cocks of hay

3 put 3 coils of Good Hay went Down with Charlie took up Potatoes took up some Boards Fixed his Pumpkins
