Biography:
David resides on the farm his grandfather (of the same name) acquired in 1835. His diary is a gem. He writes of trips to Galt and Glen Morris, family affairs, and farm work. He and Beatrice have only one young daughter, and to help in the fields, he often takes on a hired man. He draws maps of his fields and crops, and includes financial accounts, some family history, and a genealogical chart. He also takes a great interest in local politics and reflects on church affairs and sermons.
