January 7 1902 Boys Chored & brought load Pine roots from Flavius AM I & A & Henry Cleaned 30 bags Oats J got Mare Bonnie sharped PM W. about an inch of snow last night. Milder it Patched the sleighing

8 J & A took 30 bags Oats 72 Bus to Locust Hill AM @ 42 cts AM Henry & Anne took Charlotte Hoover to Johny Ramer's to dinner & left her at Jesse Burkholder's A got Horse Billy sharped PM. W. Mild snow from East lat night & awhile AM good sleighing they took the Oats on the sleigh the young folks met here last night for the singing

9 Henry helped Thomas thresh A went to Stouffville for the Furniture that they bought last week Nancy & Mary went to Markham AM Eddy Hoover & Charlotte were here to supper they went home this evening W. Cloudy Mild East wind not strong

10 A helped Peter Reesor cut feed till nearly noon Henry & Benj'n sawed Ice J brought a load AM A brought one PM D March drew 2 with Benj'ns team W. mild Cloudy a slight drizzle about noon, not thawing

11 J went to Markham for Marys Churn & a full leaf Table AM I & Nancy went to Ceder GRover for some more things for Mary AM A & Henry Chored W. Mild a few inches snow last night some through the day, good sleighing

Sunday 12 at home. A Henry & Adeline & Anne & Elias & mary went to Thomas's to dinner

I walked to NB's AM to see how Aunt Lizzie is she has been sick is some better. W. a very very cold N wind, about 9 above Zero all day

13 Boys shoveled some snow west of 11th Con there are some drifts they took the load of Mary's furniture to the new house, that A brought from Stouffville W. a pretty strong wind yet not so Cold E Lewis & H Hibbert were here to dinner Ketura & Elizabeth Jake & Anne Diller Called this evening

14 all went to help Mary Move to their new house on the old Wm Brown Homestead Flavius & Benj'n & Elias helped Albert Hoover Came to our place & he Came down too & had dinner there W. fine rather Cloudy & Mild very good sleighing

15 Boys & neighbours shovelled through the snow banks on turnpike west of 11th Con to Flavius AM Boys Chored & shelled about {blank space} Bus Corn with Sheller PM I & Nancy went to Herman's to dinner Herman's are not home yet they went to Indiana with Peter Burkholder's nearly two weeks ago. W. Cloudy & Mild

16 J went to Markham AM A & Henry shelled some Corn I & Nancy went to Davids W. pretty strong cold N West wind all day Cler

17 Boys brought a load of pine roots from 5th Con Scarboro & Cut up some of them AM the whole singing Club went to Jacob Grove's PM all in one sleigh our Mare Minnie & one of JD's Horses W. very fine & Cler

18 A & Henry Cut up pine roots & the old rails in orchard into Bake Oven wood J went to Markham PM Milder

W. mild pretty strong west wind looked like a soft spell but is getting Colder this evening I took first Anne, then Adeline to Elias's to help Mary to fix up things a little I brought home some Corn Chop from Br S's PM that J took yesterday

Sunday 19 at home Jacob B Reesors were here to dinner Ada Hare was here too W. Cler sharp all day about 5 deg above Zero this morning about 15 through the day

20 We & Elias's Killed Mary's Hog it weighed about 2 Cwt it turned out about 40 lbs lard J & Henry brought a load of pine roots PM AB's & Jesse's were here to supper W. Milder East wind this evening

21 Henry made a start Cutting some 4 ft wood at Flavius's East of swail we intend Cutting some there Br inlaw Enos Hoovers & Delilahs Mother were here to dinner W. Mild some snow from East last night & this Morning. Came on again PM snowing yet

22 Boys Chored Peters Jacob & Elizabeth brought Anna Bella Rittenhouse from Cayuga shortly after dinner & staid till about 4 PM J & A drove to Ceder Grove Pm to break roads. W. wind & snow from NEast last night & More or less all day not Cold Townline drifted some west of 11th Con

23 Adeline A & Henry helped Flavius Kill hogs J took Adeline over to Flavius & tracked the road they are drifted full again in the Cuts where they had shoveled, they drive along the fence W. very fine & Cler. pretty sharp Air about 10 in snow.

5 Boys Chored J took Flavius with him to F Glendennings in Scarboro to buy a Cow PM he did not buy her. A skinned a sheep PM they got frightened & one ran against another with her breast & we think ruptured a blood vessel & died at once, it was very fat. W. 2 above Zero this Morning. Cler Cold all day

6 Boys helped Pick 2 pr Chickens then they went down to Collins to try to shoot a big white owl but got no Chance at him. AM Henry worked for Thomas J went to Markham PM A chored W. 6 above Zero this Morning getting Milder

7 Henry is at Thomas's J went to try to shoot the big white Owl he shot at him at a long distance, he is very shy. J & A went to take a load of wood to Markham PM they Came back the roads are drifted too much W. a few inches snow last night. strong W wind todaynot cold

8 Boys chored Henry Came home from Thomas's soon after Breakfast J & Henry went to Br S's with some Corn to get it chopped PM W. Cold very strong NW wind the boys shoveled the Pickering Townline AM it is filling up again

Sunday 9 at home all day a very lonesome Sunday not a team on the road all day a strong steady blow from NW all day not so Cold the roads are drifted very full Calm tonight

10 Boys shoveled some on Scarboro townline AM & on 11th Con PM W. pretty Cold strong WW wind all day

11 A & Henry Cleaned & Oiled 2 setts double Harness J walked to Ceder Grove AM Boys & girls went to Elias's to supper W. strong cold NW wind. Got Milder & more calm toward evening Br C got a Telegram today stating that Bishop Abraham Martin died on Saturday & was to be buried today at 9 AM

12 Boys Chored Henry took light Bobs to Ceder Grove from Waterloo was here to dinner he wanted to see Br C I went to Br C's with hime after dinner W pretty sharp squaals of snow AM Milder PM

13 A took Deacon Menno Shants & Thomas to Locust Hill station this morning. Shants is going home Thomas is going to Toronto J & Henry helped the girls to Pick 3 Chickens we killed 5 of our Pigs & 2 for Benj'n Flavius & Benj'n helped PM W. pretty Cold this Morning Milder PM getting Colder this evening a little like a storm

14 I & Nancy went to Flavius to dinner J & A Chored A took grist to Br S's PM Henry & D March went to Toronto our 5 Pigs & Benj'ns 2 @ 8.10 per Cwt except Benj'n were over weight & 1 of ours they were docked to $7.90 he had 12 bags Oats @ 46 cts 3 old Fowls @ 40 cts each 2 pr Chickens for Benj'n $1.00 pr pair W. very fine pretty Cold NW

15 A & Henry Cleaned & Oiled a sett of Double

Harness ( I made a Mistake when I said the other day that they Cleaned & Oiled 2 setts it was only 1) J went to Markham PM & Paid T Bishop W. fine & Cler up to thawing at noon Elias & Mary were here to supper

Sunday 16 J & A Adeline & Anne went with Flavius as far as David's Flavius went to Gid Browns {illegible} to dinner then they Called for them again PM & Came home together I & Nancy went to U Drudges after dinner & staid a few hours Ruhana is quite poorly W. partly Cloudy Mild

17 A & Henry helped Thomas take 3 head of fat Cattle to Locust Hill AM they helped to shovel out the Pickering Townline from Hebron to first sideroad it was only drifted in places it has not been tracked since the storm W. very fine I & Susanna went to Ceder Grove PM

18 A & Henry took 1/2 Cord first Class Greenwood to Markham AM they put it all on Henry's sleigh at the end of Sparta sideroad on the 8th Con & A Came home. then they took 3/4 Cord each PM & took it all the way W. strong NW wind last night & all day not very Cold Herman's Called a few minutes AM they went to Elias's to dinner

19 A & Henry took last of wood 3/4 Cords each AM Henry helped Benj'n Clean a load of Oats PM W. Cler Cold strong NW wind Calm & Milder this evening

20 Boys took 5 lambs to M Barkeys to get dressed & then they filled 10 bags with Potatoes & helped Pick 3 pairs Chickens AM Henry helped to dig a grave at Hebron

for Henry Stover's wife she died in Toronto & will be Buried tomorrow about 1100 Arriving at Locust Hill about 1000 Davids were here to dinner W. very fine & Cler Milder

21 Henry helped finish grave then we all except Susanna & Adeline went to the Funeral Sermon on Isaiah 33rd C & 1st Verse by Br C. Cressman of the Mount Joy Church spoke too A was in Toronto 5 lambs 293 lbs @ 8 1/2 cts 10 bags Potatoes @ 70 cts 3 pr Chickens 70 cts 5 lamb skins & 1 sheep skin @ 80 cts J & Henry took a grist to Br S's PM W. very very fine. Mild

22 Boys Chored & cut a lot of feed AM J went to a sale of Cattle belonging to J A White on 6 th of Pickering A & Henry shoveled some snow at Hebron & Henry brought grist home Matty Cook Came to stay all night W. very very fine

Sunday 23 all went to Meeting at Hebron except J remarks by C Burkholder sermon on St Luke 11th C by Daniel Brubaker from Woolwich JB's David Burkholder & Adeline Brillinger Abraham Lehman's young folks & Matty Cook were here to dinner Pre Daniel Brubacher's girls & Elias's were here to supper & Ada Hare & Amelia were here & Joseph Barkey was here to supper too Matty Cook stays all night Benj'ns were here PM W. very very fine Mild & Cler thawing

24 Boys cut up pine roots took Pork out of brine & Chored J went to Weins sale on 4th Con Scarboro PM

all the young folks went on our sleigh to Menno Burkholder's this evening W. Cloudy foggy some drizzly AM very fine & Cler PM I took Matty Cook to Br C's AM little Eva Came to stay a few days Fanny is going to Toronto tomorrow to get a sett of new teeth

25 Nancy & Henry went to see Grandmother Hoover she is quite smart J took Flavius & Fanny to Brown's Corner's A brought a load of Pine roots AM A worked at Thomas's J went to Br S's PM W. very very fine up to 40 deg awhile PM Susanna went with J to Br S's he brought her home this evening

26 A Adeline & Anne went to Herman's to dinner Henry brought 2 Bals Flour from Green River Mills at $4.00 & $3.80 cts each AM he went to help draw Ice for Kennedys PM J Ionson Came to stay all night W. very very fine up to 40 deg snow going

27 Henry helped Benj'n saw logs & wood all day A took Susanna to Davids AM & left her there he & J Chored PM J took Butter & Eggs to Ceder Grove I & Nancy went awhile to Elias's PM W. fine & Cler but an East wind is Coming up sleighing is getting thin in places

28 Boys Chored AM they & neighbours shoveled out the road on the turnpike west of 11th Con PM W. very strong East wind & heavy rain last night & AM & a little at times PM sleighing about done. Creeks very high & Rouge roaring tonight Ruhana Drudge is getting very low

3 J went to Ceder Grove this morning A & nancy went to see Ruhana Drudge she is about the same J & henry looked through bush at Flavius for some dead trees to make a few logs W. a slight flurry of snow last night NW wind pretty Cold

4 A & Henry Cut down trees in old bush for wood (some that are dying) Henry worked at Thomas's PM J went to a sale on the old Tom Hodgins farm PM. W. pretty Cold N wind J went in Cart sleighing about gone

5 Henry worked at Thomas's AM he went to John Milroys Sawing Bee PM A took grist Chop to Br S's AM he Mended a Boot for Adeline & Chored PM J went to Toronto he drove in the Cart to Halfway Home & took Trolleys he bo't a suit of Clothes for Himself @$6.95 very good suit W. Cler. Cold wind Flavius Fanny & little Eva were here PM staid to supper Mary called a few hours PM

6 A & Henry Cut down trees AM A went to A McCreights sawing Bee & Henry trimmed trees PM I & J went down to JD's fields to shoot a big White Arctic snow Owl, he was too shy J took Butter & Eggs to Ceder Grove & brought Chop home PM W. very fine Cler thawing some

7 A & Henry cut down trees till near 1000 then they went to WD Reesor's sale on 9th Con Markham

J went to Thomas's this Morning they went by Martins & then went to sale too Nancy & Adeline went to U Drudges awhile PM Ruhana is rather weaker W. very fine like spring

8 Boys Cleaned Timothy seed AM our whole family met in Markham PM to have their Picture taken I went to NB's Br C's Br N's & Br S's at AB's with a letter for them to read stating that our old Friend JL Lehman of Mahoney Ohio Died on Feb 22 W. cold raw East wind began to snow about 3 PM snowing yet Elias's were here to supper

Sunday 9 I & Nancy went to U Drudges we staid all day Ruhana is very very low Anne went to Cober's Meeting A & Adeline went to sit up with Ruhana W. a few in snow on the ground Cloudy AM fine & Cler PM fresh snow all gone

10 Henry went to Ceder Grove & brought Chop from Br S's then they cut a lot of feed AM A went to David's Grove's Sawing Bee Pm great run of sap A brought Susanna home this evening they Called at Drudges about 700 Ruhana died at 600 W. Cloudy AM very fine PM thawing

11 Boys Chored & brought home nearly 2 Milk Cans of sap AM they had a sawing Bee PM in old bush Herman & David Elias & Mary & about a dozen of the neighbours J took Adeline to Drudges this morning. She staid all day Henry & Anne went to

Mild Cler Cloudy at times J went to U Drudges to stay all night

13 All went to Funeral of Ruhana J staid at Drudges all day Sermon on Hebrews 4th C 3 first Verses by C Burkholder Cressmen of Mt Joy spoke on Isaiah 64th C 6th V MN's were here to dinner W rather Blustery AM Cler, rather Cold NW wind all day

14 A & Henry drew limb wood on pile in bush AM they both went to Thomas's sawing Bee PM I boiled sap in shop AM Nancy finished about 10 qts Molasses J Chored & went to Ceder Grove W. sharp frost last night fine Cler today

15 Henry helped Benj'n's all day A split wood all day J Chored & took grist Oats to Br S's I boiled some sap W. East wind rather Cloudy

19 Boys cut some shingle bolts in the Shank swamp AM J went to Sale at B Dixon's 2nd Con Pickering A & Henry brought shingle bolts home PM W. very Cold strong NW wind 11 deg above Zero this Morning E Lewis & J Coakwell were here to dinner

20 Boys Cleaned Wheat & Timothy seed AM they all went to Thos Coxworths sale J bought a Jersey Cow newly Calved @ $35.00 per cent off for Cash Elias & Mary & Jos Barkey Called this evening W. Milder, but wind in NW yet

21 Boys brought home some sap then drew off a few stones & brought load of pine roots AM Henry went to NB's sawing Bee PM A & J finished Cleaning Timothy seed & A sold a pair of Boots for Thomas's Adeline I boiled sap Nancy made 5 1/2 qts this evening W. very very fine & Cler great run of samp, some suckers Caught in Petticoat Creek the other day down below 2nd Con Pickering

Sunday 23 All went to Meeting at Hebron except J remarks by C Burkholder sermon on St Luke part of 11th C by Br C Enos Nighswander & family brought Henry Stover & his daughter Tenie JB Saml Ramer's son Enos & hired girl Emma Stover Amos Grove & hired girl Fanny Smith & Tillie Hare were here to dinner. W. very very fine & Cler there is still a sharp air from the north

24 Boys brought home some sap & drew off some stones then they filled 12 sacks with Potatoes AM the Trimmed Trees PM W. very very fine like spring I boiled sap Nancy & Susanna went to see Nettie Ionson PM she has a son Baby

25 A & Henry & I killed 2 Pigs then they sawed wood J took our Calf & one of Flavius to M Barkeys to get dressed then he went to a sale at Northcots on 7th Con Markham I took Nancy to Elias's after dinner then I went to Ceder Grove & got Mare Bonnie shod went back to Elias's to supper W. very very fine some people are working on the land I went to see JD this morning he got his shoulder dislocated yesterday he was leading a Cow through a gate & she got frightened & pulled him backwards over he is doing well

26 Henry split wood J took grist Oats to Br S's & brought home load pine roots AM Henry grubbed Mangel ground PM J Chored & took Butter & Eggs to Ceder Grove this evening Adeline Susanna & Anne went to a quilting at PB Reesor's A went to Toronto 12 bags Potatoes 65 cts per bag 2 Pigs 94 lbs each @ $8.00 per Cwt 1 Calf 86 bls @ $9.00 1 Calf 155 lbs for Flavius @ $9.00 per Cwt W. very fine but a sharp East wind I boild sap the roads are very good. dry & dusty like June

27 A & Henry Cut & gathered Pine summer wood at Flavius J brought 8 Bus Goose Wheat for seed from J Clarks @ 70 cts per Bus & brought home Chop then a load of wood AM he went to a sale at McCowan's near Johny Reesor's PM A & Henry drew home wood with 2 Waggons PM I went to Ceder Grove Nancy went with me to Br S's his wife was not well is better again W. very mild Cloudy a slight drizzle this morning fine & Cler today

Easter Monday 31 Henry took our fat Heifer to Highland Creek (east Hill) this AM we sold her to E Lewis @ $49.00 she weighed something over 1050 lbs A McCreight sold one too A drove down & brought Henry & James home Flavius's were here to dinner Henry Thomas & Roy Ellis went down Petticoat Creek a few hours PM with our net & Caught 61 Suckers W. frost last night some squaals of snow PM Adeline & Susanna went to Davids to dinner Susanna staid Russel Came along

April 1 A helped T Coxworth Move from 11th Con to Armadale AM he went to A Lehman's PM to see when they can Cut our shingles Henry chored he helped Benj'n awhild PM W. Squaals of snow AM softer PM but now NW wind

2 A & Henry split pine summer wood that they drew home from Flavius W. Cold raw NW wind some squaals of snow & drizzle

3 A & Nancy went to Markham & to Davids to dinner took Russel home then they went to see Br inlaw Peter he has Bronchitis is getting better J helped Benj'n take some fat Cattle to Locust Hill & bring a cow from

Herman's that he bought from Christ Hoover Henry Chored AM he went to Gower's sawing Bee on the Jacob Reesor farm Gower is living in the House & is working for Thomas (Craven is moved away) W. ground froze hard squaals of snow through the day getting milder

4 Boys drew stones off new Meadow AM they worked at rebuilding fence East of dam PM I went to Markham PM took 3 Baskets of apples @ 40 cts each W. sharp this Morning very fine & Cler PM roads pretty good

5 Boys worked at fence I boiled sap AM J went to Spink Mills for some Bran he brought nearly 500 lbs @ $18. per ton A went to help NB take down a small barn at Whitevale that he bought off J Larkin PM I & Nancy went after dinner to get JB's to supper then went to Herman's & staid all night W. very fine looks a little like rain

Sunday 6 went to Meeting at Wideman's remarks by C Burkholder sermon on St John part of 3C by Br C went to Joseph Grove's to dinner then came home W. very very fine, a Cool East wind very sharp white frost yesterday Morning and another this Morning but not so hard

7 Boys Chored & Made a stone boat AM Henry helped Flavius at seeding & A grubbed some behind Cider house PM I boiled sap AM Nancy made nearly 3 qts Molasses PM which makes nicely over 8 gallons off 18 trees but we used about $1.00 worth of sugar in it W. Mild East wind rather Cloudy a fine shower about 4 PM

8 Henry helped Flavius at Seeding all day A Plowed in furrows & harrowed W. strong East wind rather Cool, drizzly rain towards evening The fighting in South Africa is still going on there are no regular pitched battles, it is more like Chasing Bandits Canada is sending 2000 more Mounted Men they expect to sail about the middle of May

9 Henry Clipped a Horse for Peter B Reesor A & J Chored & Cleaned some Oats W. strong East wind & drissly rain all night & nearly all day

10 Boys straightened up some cross fences AM Davids Came about 10 AM they brought Susanna home then the boys David & Thomas went fishing down to the Petticoat got a few then went to the Big Rouge they got 36 altogether I took Butter & Eggs to Ceder Grove PM W. fine AM Cloudy a little drizzly PM

11 Boys sawed & split pine for summer wood that they drew home into Orchard Enos Nighswander was here to dinner he exchanged 8 bags Oats for seed then went to Clods for some suckers he got 58 W. foggy nearly all day showers at noon slight white frost this Morning

12 Boys Chored AM A went to Markham PM he took 4 Baskets Apples (spies) @ 40 cts per Basket Henry took grist to Br S's & went to Ceder Grove W. very heavy white frost this Morning frequent showers through the day.

Sunday 13 at home Thomas's & NB's were here to dinner Br N's & Ada Hare were here to supper Benj'ns Fanny & little Wilfred were here awhile PM W. Cool NW wind all day

14 Boys Chored & drew some stones off fields AM A & Sherman March sowed nearly all of big field with Mixed grain PM (Sherman is working for Benj'n he was hired to Dimma's & David was hired to Benj'n Sherman got married to Esther Pilkey & moved into the old Daniel Hoover house & he & David exchanged places as it makes it handier for Sherman to go home at night) they would have finished the field but the seed run out Henry grubbed in NE Corner field W. a little frost last night fine PM Esher March was here PM & to supper

15 Boys & Sherman worked at Seeding A rolled new meadow AM I & J put on some Plum & Cherry grafts I went to Flavius PM & helped him put on some plum grafts PM W. a little frost last night fine today Cool

16 Boys & Sherman worked at seeding sod in NE Corner field with Ligano Oats W. white frost this morning, fine & warm today

it was very warm all day Henry took Mares & got them shod on front feet after storm was over

15 J & Henry worked with Wheel Scraper on Pickering Townline A got Horses Chief & Billy shod all around & got Harness fixed AM he & Henry worked the scraper PM W. Cooler & Cler I took Nancy & Susanna to Elias's AM & brought them home PM

16 Henry scuffled Mangels & Corn all day J & A mowed swail in Meadow & north of Orchard with Mower & Scythes & drew in rakings in Meadow W. very fine & Cool I took grist to Br S's PM

17 A & Henry worked Wheel Scraper on Townline AM Henry scuffled Potatoes & Corn J & A hoed Potatoes PM I brought home Oat Chop AM took Butter & Eggs to Ceder Grove & brought Barley Chop PM W. very very warm nearly 80 deg Showers went around PM getting Cooler towards evening rain last night

18 Henry helped Benj'n draw in hay all day J & A put Paris Green on Potatoes AM A hoed Mangels J & Nancy went to Markham & Called at Davids I got Mare Bonnie shod on front feet PM I & Nancy Called at Flavius AM he had a very bad spell last night, Pain in Bowels, they sent for Dr he is better again W. fine Cooler, Cler

19 Boys chored & filled 40 bags with Oats AM did not do much PM J went to Ceder Grove W. some rain last night drizzly awhile AM rained very heavy at times PM Cool & Cloudy tonight

Sunday 20 Adeline Anne A Henry & Elias's went to Davids to dinner they went in our spring Waggon Our Mare Minnie & Elias's old Mare we were at home all day W. drizzly this Morning Cler awhile Cloudy again began to rain about 6 PM raining yet Cool

21 Boys Chored I took grist Chop to Br S's went to Ceder Grove AM W. drissly rain off & on all day

22 Boys hoed Mangels awhile then helped Benj'n pull wild Oats till noon A & Henry went to raising of sheep pen at NB's PM hoed Mangels after they came home I brought home Chop PM. W. very fine Cler day

23 J & Henry hoed Mangels Benj'n helped awhile they helped him pull Wild Oats A went to Toronto 98 Bus lbs Oats @ 51 cts per Bus I & Nancy went to Ceder Grove AM I took grist to Br S's PM W. warm a thunder shower after dinner not heavy another slight shower PM A Shank was here to dinner peddling fish

24 Boys hoed Corn AM they Cut Wheat PM drew in the swail hay 2 loads this evening I took 6 bags Oats & Mixed grain to Br S's & brought home load Chop AM took Butter & Eggs to Ceder Grove PM W. very fine & Cler Herman & Henry Called PM. Our Creek is running the Pond is full. it has been nearly full all Summer it has been an exceptional summer for pasture

25 Boys finished Cutting & Shocking Wheat & began in Barley I & Susanna went to Markham PM W. fine Cler pretty warm East wind PM

26 Boys finished Cutting barley till shortly after 3 PM then they helped Benj'n pull wild Oats till about half past 4 when a heavy thunder storm went around south west it rained heavy here about 6 but no heavy thunder it was pretty warm today I went to Ceder Grove & brought some Chop home AM

Sunday 27 at home Elias's were here to dinner J Adeline & Anne went to Herman's to dinner it was wet this Morning & looked like rain so they did not go to Meeting W. thunder Clouds in NW nearly all day it Came on about 3 PM a very heavy thunder storm & very heavy rain our Creek was running just a nice rivulet but it was full to the banks in about an hours time there was a heavy gust of wind

28 boys fixed up the grain shocks there were not very many down. The wheat is sprouting some A & Henry began to work at Benj'ns stable they are laying the floor with Bricks I went to Ceder Grove for a Barrel of salt PM Nancy went along as far as Flavius W. pretty warm, looks a little like More rain

29 J went to Stouffville & to Davids to dinner A worked at Benj'ns stable all day Henry hoed Corn all day I went to Markham to Dr AM got 2 Teeth pulled & Paid our Bill $16.25 W. very fine Cler day quite warm

30 Boys hoed Corn & laid down all the wheat shocks AM Henry helped NB's draw in hay PM J & A

31 Boys hoed Corn awhile then helped Benj'n shock barley J Cut for Benj'n & Sherman helped us draw in Wheat with team PM we got it all in the barn till night 20 loads but we Could not load heavy the ground is soft W. very fine very warm looks a little like rain a few drops at dark I took Butter & Eggs to Ceder Grove AM got a shoe on mare Bonnie she travels well

they all helped Benj'n draw in PM I went to see Saml Reesor about threshing this morning W. fine heard today that there was heavy hail on the 7 Con Markham, threshed the grain I went to Ceder Grove PM got the Globe it says there was a Cyclone struck St Catherines yesterday, nobody killed some buildings wrecked in the City none in the Country

5 Boys helped Benj'n draw in till nearly noon looked like rain then they all Came down in a hurry & shocked our field of barley got the last shock up when a very heavy shower of rain Came Cloudy & drissly rain awhile PM Davids Came to supper Elias's after supper had Ice Cream J went to Whitevale PM

6 A worked at Benj'n stable AM he helped then to draw dung PM Henry ganged AM J went to Claremont AM got a very good second hand Range Cooking stove @ $4.50, he began Cutting Oats north of Meeting house PM Henry shocked I & Nancy went to Br inlaw Enos Hoover's to dinner. Called at Davids W. very fine & Cool

Pre Jos Wismer & wife C Burkholder & wife Deacon P Bauman Deacon J Nahrgang Pre D Martins Pre Amos Gingrich S Brubaker & S Hurst from Wayne Co Ohio & Elias & Mary were here to supper W. Cloudy AM fine PM Hannah Shants & Becca Martin Came to stay all night

31 Deacon Levi Martin Called this Morning I & Nancy took Hannah Shants & Becca Martin to Br C's then we took Jos Wismer & wife Pre J Martin & wife from Ind Widow Culp from Ind & Called awhile at AB's then to Br N's to dinner then Br N took some & we took Martins & widow Culp to Johny Ramer's to supper then Called at U Drudges & at Isaac Reesor's then took them to Br S's to stay all night W. Cler pretty strong E wind at times

Sunday June 1st I & Nancy & Susanna went to Meeting at Widemans sermon on St Luke 22 & 23 C by Bishop F Rittenhouse & Bishop J Martin suitable for Celebration of Lords Supper we went to Davids to dinner W. a slight shower this Morning Cler today A Adeline & Anne were in Meeting too J & A went to Whitevale yesterday & traded our old Top Buggy to B Ellison
