Th 12th. Posted a letter to Mrs. Creek. Phil. working at the shed all day. Pair of shoes of J. George for Eddy.
F. 13th. Pease to Rob. 107 lbs. Pease to myself 85 lbs these are the last of Roberts pease. 12 lbs of nails of Robert borrowed Philip working at the shed all day

S. 15th. P. O Dolr. to N. C. Association if entered into.
M. 16th. Pease of Philip. 83 lbs. Pease to Fortney on Robs A/C 133. lbs. Posted a letter to Sister Lizzie.
T. 17th. 104 lbs of Pease of Philip. Received a letter from J. Craig Esqr. of Southampton demanding payment on a Note he holds against me.
W. 18th.
Th. 19th. Killed my four spring pigs & two for Philip. Due to Mr Goble for butchering as my share 25 cts.

M. 23rd. Thrased Philips wheat in half a day also half a day for me. Zant with his team Aaron Fortney with his team James Davidson & his brother John Salter, Stewart, James & Moffat Craig, Born, John Davidson was but half the day. Shells machine.
T. 24th. Thrashing as before the same hands excepting Salter? Henry S. was in his place. For me 1/2 of a day & Rob 3/4. Omitted Last Saturday 1/2 B. of Dried apples of Phil 125 cts. Oats to Fortney on Robs A/C.
W. 25th. Bought a vest of Phil on A/C.

F 27th. Lent James Davidson 25 lbs of Flour. Phil 3/4 of a day for me.

M. 30th. Volunteered to serve in the Militia.
J. 31st. Paid Six Dollrs. to Mr. Joseph Craig of Southampton this is the first payment on a Note of Seventy five Dolrs. which he hold against me. This Note is the one I gave for my Oxen.

1st. Appointed a Trustee for the New Church Society of Port Elgin
2nd. Received 44 lbs of Flour of James Davidson that he had borrowed of me.
3rd. Fetched my lost heifer from J. McCullochs due him for Keep 200 cts. Sold Edward Salter my Violin which he has to chop me three Cords of wood.

T. 7th. Fritz. Schwendker commenced to cut cord wood. at 30 cts per.

Th. 9th. Delivered of Roberts Fall Wheat to Messrs. L. & Ruby 53 B. 58 lbs. on A/C Also of Oats 11 B. 6 lbs. on A/C. Also to Fluhr 166 lbs of Oats @ 28 cts & received One Dolr. out of 133 cts the price. The wheat to Ruby is 83 cts. per B. and the oats 28 cts. Sister Lizzie returned.
F. 10th. Sold Calder 33 B. 1 lb. of Fall wheat @ 75 cts. per B. and received Cash 24$ 76 cts. Paid Fred Stafford 17$ 75 cts. and received the Note that Rob Phil & me jointly gave his Brother William. Also received of Fred Stafford 116 cts. this pays for the Beef he had of me as per entry. Comming from Southampton got my off Oxes leg cut by a sleigh. and had to leave him in town at Hilberts.
S. 11th. Borrowed of Messrs. L & Ruby the sum of Eleven Dolrs. Paid Mr. J. Goble 11 Dolrs. this being the amount due him by /robert for Interest on Mortgage to this date.
S 12th.
M. 13th. Traded a cap with Fritz S. for a pistol & traded the pistol with B. Fred for his old gun. I allowed him three Dolrs. for the gun & he allowed me a Dolr. for my pistol.
T. Delivered wheat to L & Ruby at 75 cts. the last of Robs Fall wheat. Went to Southampton with Ned Shields.
the Government Money on the whole Lot. Received of Born 14 B. 36 lbs. of pease with bags for which I must give him the same weight of pease for seed. Paid to Robert 14 B. 29 lbs. of pease per A/C.
F 7th. Received an answer from the Emigration Agent Quebec. Stored 4 bags of wheat at Christian's Robs oxen 1/2 day.
S. 8th. Robs Oxen half day.

T. 11th. Started for Mr. J. David's of Woolwich Township.
Th. 20th. Returned last night from below. Paid Br. Lehnen the sum of four Dolrs. which I promised for Mr. Tuerk when he was on his Missionary tour also Four Dolrs 48 cts for the New Jerusalem Magazine & New Jerusalem Messenger also One Dolr & 38 cts for the True Christian Religion Paid Messrs L & Ruby 244 Dolrs. this is the balance on the Note due them since last Febry. Also One hundred Dolrs. on A/C to L & Ruby. Paid James George his shoemaking A/C. Eleven Dolrs. Eighty four cts. Paid Christ Schwendker Twenty five Dolrs this was Due by me to Brother Fritz. Christ will give him his note due in Six months for
for this money at six per d. interest. I have paid Fritz one yorker as interest on the money and he will burn my Note on the receipt of Christians Also paid Christian the balance due him on his a/c Fifteen Dolrs and Cts. This settles the a/c between him and me; except for the Deutsch books we had of Lehnen. Paid Uncle Iden Thirty Dolrs. and Ninety cts this is interest and compound interest on the Five hundred dolrs for which he holds a Mortgage against Robert. Paid Janet Craig 2 Dolrs. for two weeks work on the Eleventh Whilst below bought a pistol fifteen Dolrs.
F. 21st. Paid Iden the balance of the four Dolrs. and thirty cents due him since last year on seed wheat a/c. Two Dolrs. & 36 cents. Paid James Stewart the sum of Fourteen Dolrs. Twenty five cents less hald a Dolr. paid him before.
S. 22nd.
S 23rd. N. 24th. Traded with Philip for his bob sleigh. I have given him my revolver and my old long sleigh and must owe him Eleven Dolrs beside also the four Dolrs due from him on his Taxes. I allow him. this makes the money I give him amount to Fifteen Dolrs.
T. 25th.
the man that hurt my ox. Brought the ox home he considering him able to come. He paid all the expenses for keep and attendtion & agreed to pay whatever was fair afterwards. Bought of Calder a few lbs of Oatmeal also length enough of rope to make two halter p.d. Settled with Christian Schwendker his A/C against me for Tailoring $57.37 cts. My a/c against him $42.97 which leaves a balance due him of $8.42. A/C received of Rinsie against me of $23.00. Interest on the same for 15 months $1.80. Churn & Stramer 2.00 Work by Sister Lizzie 5.25 cts. His total against me after Balancing our A/Cs, is $40.45 cts. To settle this I have given a Note to Brother Fritz Schwendker for $25.00. bearing six per cent Inter. for one year. Also a due bill on myself to Christian for $15.45 cts. this squares our A/Cs. to this date. Philip half day working for me.

Two Thousand Dollars, I have to give him a free Deed. The purchaser is a Mr. John D. David of Woolwich. He signed an agreement to the effect that I give him possession on the Fourteenth day of February of the year of our Lord 1862. on the condition that I receive Two hundred and fifty Dollars down and Seventeen hundred and fifty when I transfer the lot to him. Witness C.F. Schwendker and Jacob Traflet. I received the above named sum and depositted it with L & Ruby taking a receipt for the same. Paid to D. MacTavish 14 Dolrs. being part payment of a note due him by Robert Memorandum 53.5860 Bushls. of Fall wheat @ 75 cts. $40.47 116/34 Oats, .28 4.13 Making a total of $44.60 the wheat was Roberts and is paid on a Note L & Ruby hold against me Dated Feb. 1st 1861. Also received from L & Ruby the Sum of Fourteen Dolrs. Seventy five cts. in cash which added to Eleven Dollars I borrowed from them for Mr. John Goble makes a sum total of $25.75 this amount is raised from a load and bag of fall wheat which I delivered for Robert. Took wheat to mill part for a grist and part to Store. Stored five bags of Fall Wheat with Brother Christian Sch.
T. 21st. Stored five bags of Fall and Four of Spring wheat with Brother C. F. Schwendker. Paid L & Ruby the sum of Six Dollars on Roberts a/c for Donald MacTavish and Received Roberts Note of hand payable on the 1st of Janry. and Dated Saugeen Novbr. 6th. 1861. Traded with Philip for his Watch Gave him the old gun I got of Fred my Pick grubbing hoe two small chains for binding, and old red box. Paid Robert One Dolr.
W 22nd Stored 45 B 48 lbs of wheat at Shantz Mill for Robert
Th. 23rd. Posted a letter to the Government of Emigration Agent Quebec
F. 24th.
S. 25th. Paid Roether Three Dollars & half for his German Dictionary. Lifted the Note Craig held against me for my Oxen by paying the sum of Seventy On Dolrs Fifty cts. being the balance due on the Note with 10per ct. interest on the whole Sum for four months. Paid John Zant the sum of Fifteen Dolrs. this being principal and Interest due him for two years. This evening we had another addition to our family in the shape of a little Son. Received of L & Ruby 150. Dolrs. being part of the sum deposited with them. Paid on Note to L & Ruby One Hundred Dolrs.

M. 27th. Killed old Florence. Mr J. Goble butchering.
R. 28th. Paid Mr. J. Goble the sum of Ten Dolrs. on A/C/
W. 29th. Paid my last years tax. the amount Eleven Dolrs. Forty One cts. Paid Roberts Taxes Ten Dolrs. Eighty Eight cts. Paid Fathers Taxes Fifty three cents. Paid
Taxes for Philip Eight Dolrs. Eight cents.
Th. 30th. Sold James Davidson 105 lbs of Beef at 54 cts per lb. $4.20 cts. On Phils A/C Received of Philip Four Dolrs. Eight cents being part payment of Taxes. Paid Mr J. Goble in Beef for butchering. On? Mill yesterday 100 lbs of Flour of Robert

Th. 6th. Made a bargain with Robert & Philip for Twenty five acres off each of their portions of the Gore They agreeing to take their Ten acres off the South corner of the Lot with a face? of Thirty Chains each on the Goderich Line. They will pay their share of
W. 26th. Reother agreed to let me go into his house and if I have to leave in less than two months he will not charge me anything for it. Fritz Welling commenced to thrash pease for me this morning at a york sixpence per bushl.
Th. 27th. Commenced to move out of my old house into Reothers Farm house. Bought a New Stove of Fred Lehnen sold him a cow hide and paid him over and above the cow hide for the stove pipe and pot covers. Twenty Six Dolrs. Robert and his oxen helping me all day.

March S. 1st. Moving. Robert and Oxen helping. Philip helping to get wood. Mr. J. D. David and Family moved into my old house. Received one Dolr. From him for my chicken nests. Paid M. O Craig 871/2 cts as per order from Moses Eby of Port Elgin.

T. 4th. Rob. working for me half day.
W. 5th. Received Twelve hundred and Fifty Dolrs. of J.D. David on land ac. this makes 2000$ I have Received as per Agreement. Paid on Lot 30 Lake Range 206.50 cts.
which is payment in full to the Government; and gave a transfer to John D. David. Paid on Lot No 8 in the sixth. Concession of Saugeen 191.60 cts. which is payment in full on said lot. Received of J.D. David $2.75/100 for one barrell and 31/2 cords of wood. Paid to A. Maihale Esgr? for the transfer the sum of $1.25/100. Paid to Messrs. L. & Ruby 12 Dolrs. for Nathl. Shell this is for two days thrashing. Paid Dilamon Bricker the sum pf 117 cts. for the plow chain I got of him last winter or early in the spring.

F. 7th. Lent J.Davidson Two Dolrs. and received his Note for the same bearing 10 per cent Int. and due a month from date.

M. 10th. Fritz finished my pea thrashing. he and I cleaned them up 11 B. 17 lbs. to Fortney for Robert 14 B. 29 lbs. to Born for peas he let me have some few weeks since. 28 B. 51 lbs. to Robert.
T. 11th. 85 Bushls. of Pease thrashed by Fritz Weller in 61/4 cents per bushl. Bought my old Fiddle off Ed Salter for One Dolr. paid. Two Dolrs. to Lizzie.
