Dec 1st 1905 Hi is a cold morn I started without a cent in my pocket accept a shin plaster R. J. Wilson came in paid me for date stone for pumphouse $18 I drawed $50 out of bank in fore-noon got a book of stamps 25 cts 10 cts for P.O. wrote to sent a card to mrs Susan Kelsey & to Wm Sliter James Brown came in paid me 6 cts Ink on his note he paid a couple of weeks ago I went down to the bank and drawed out $40 lent it to Jas Brown for one year at 7% spent 15 cts Will Moorehead paid me in full $10 I paid Gonyou in full $3 there was 2.50 of this for sand hill trip & 50 cts for carting he brought the two T.T.O Co jobs up from station Jack helped me for about one hour to straighten up this eve gave Jack L. $5
Settled with J. R. Johnson in full up to Jan 1st 1906 for rent $37 worked in my room to night have to night 33.10 was a nice day
Dec 2nd It snowed some in fore noon Mr Jas Patience came up paid for Barrington Mon $50 & for there own for son $35 I got ready after dinner met at train brought out home they paid me $32 leaves a balance of of $6 due me yet it rained mostly all the after noon got out about six I went home to night gave Bucky Rogers 10 cts to-day
3rd It snowed untill about two O'Clock but not enough for sleighing I came over to Aunt's gave Jack $5.00
Ann's in After noon left my mare there went over we made C I stayed at Aunt Ann's to-night it snowed some more in eve.
4th I came to Town this morn got in about one paid Tom for horse blanketts $1.25 & $1 that I owed him Lu Mustard had tea with me was a nice day.
5th got 4 bags of oats from a Mr Smith 2.73 gave Jack L. $2.00 Mrs M. Singleton was in paid $40 on monument Jas. Walker paid his in full $25 I cashed a check on gave him the balance of $6.67 cts on a $31.67 cts check and am to have the check for what he owes me it has been a nice day I worked at little books to-day & yesterday have to night $174.35 cts.
6th I worked at little books alday got a cord and a quarter of wood from Jas Brown at $2.50 a cord is not paid yet was a nice day
7th loaded Kelsey job on Gonyou's waggon he left about nine I left about ten I had dinner at R. Moultons we got to Elgin about three got job up alright it is to be $75 received no pay erected a small one for H. Yorks child $6.00 received no pay I paid Gonyou in full $5 spent 20 cts for came there for tea we went over to box social in Ellisville hall 10 cts admition it was after one when I got back I stayed at Aunt Ann's to-night was a nice day
8th I cut some wood for Aunt Ann left after eleven got in after one had no dinner to day got the Walker check cashed $31.67 & an Express order for 5. from Mrs H.C.Gamsby Mr Burton called on me to day I signed $4 to church am to pay it either here or at St Johns am to let him know later spent 10 cts have to-night $205.62 cts
9th I sent cards to Mary J. Dillon 5 cts fish bone 25cts harness repairs 2 cts for gum settled with John Leeder to-day in full there was 24.90 cts coming to him I gave him $26 & lent him $15 he agree to give me $2 for the use of it 2 Mo's I worked at little books to-day Will Sliter left $125 in bank for me to-day I left for home about five
got home about eight was a nice day
10th It snowed some Mrs Ed Murphy left $5 with Jim for me he gave it to me this morning I came over left my mare & rig with Andy walked up to church stayed at Aunt Ann's to night was a cold windy day
11th I went out to back end of Aunt Anns place Jim & Andy & Phil came up we cut over two cords of wood It snowed a little mostly alday Wellie took two load over to Aunt Ann's we came home in eve had tea Andy & I came to Town after tea got in after ten Andy & Wife came over hereeve I gave Guy 25 cts
12th i sent a card to Jas. Simpson T.T.& Co a letter V.M.Co got a draft for Jas Hutcheon $175 coat 25 cts spent 8 cts sent a card to F. Wood
13th Sent Jas. Hutcheon his draft & an order for mon's wrote Milne Coutts & Co & John A. Rowe got my cutter paid $4 for the painting of it got my fur coat fixed owe S. Adams 25 cts for it I left after before four came down to John Landons back to J.T. Landons had tea came on to Lansdowne has been a nice day this is our first sleighing this winter
14th Am at Lansdowne it is a nice morn have this morn $14.67 paid Goodall 40 cts had dinner at Geo's came out to Rath's seen Mrs Foley on to Nunn's then to
to H. Foleys on to Clares then to Leeders was a cold day stayed alnight.
15th Went out to Booths on to Lyn had dinner at Geo. Pergau's gae the children 20 cts 25 cts for horse feed came on to Wm Moultons was a cold day stayed alnight
16th it a cold frosty morn big fog came out to Smiths had dinner came on to Lansdowne & to Town got a P.O.Order from Jas. Simpson for $48 pay in full for Mon. got two perscriptions filled for 90 cts for got a pair of boots $1.30 paid S. Adams his 25 cts has been a nice day.
17th Went to Eng. church in morn Billy & I & to Vina's Haddigans Funeral
came out for tea & back to town to-night was a cool day but thawed a little I gave a marble book
18th I got $4 & some things for a buggy top 10 cts paid Adam Seale in full $1.25 gave A. Sly $1 on a present for Mrs Cornett wrote a letter to Norton Scott for John Gibson 5 cts for a set of rattlers 7 cts for Washers it misted a little to-day drove buggy came out to E. Pages after tea
19th Went up to Washburn McBroom's paid me in full $185 came on to Seeleys Bay had dinner 50 cts & I gave 50 cts toward the races was to be there & came down with I left my buggy with Ross came in to Aunt Ann's about four has been a nice

20 Took Aunt Anns buggy came out in California to E.Churchills in search of Rob York had dinner left 25 cts for little girl came on out called on H. Glover Tom Doyle H. Metcalf I wrot to Mary & Geo at Sarahs Ross & Alice were married to-day was rather a cloudy day
21st It is snowing & has snowed all the fore-noon have to-day noon $237.55 cts. I came on to Morton gave E Young 50 cts toward Barn for the Minister's horse sent Mary $1 for the obys 6 cts for stamps it was quite stormy alday

22nd I stayed at Aunt Ann's in fore-noon came to Morton in afternoon came on to Lyndhurst got mare shod 40 cts got Andy we came up to Geo. Whites sold a $38 stone I took Andy over to McMachens came on home got a present for R & A in Lyndhurst $1.40 a pair of felt boots for mother 95 cts It snowed & rained mostly alday
23rd I shaved went up to Mr Dormans & Mrs Imersons back home had dinner took mother out to Sarahs came back to Aunt Anns took her to Morton got out to reception. about half past seven five I drove Aunt Ann's buggy mostly all week got my own to-night was a snowy day & night.
24th Frank Tye came down this after dinner I took his cutter went over & in to Aunt Ann's tonight was a nice day
25 snowed a little in morn I brought mother home with Frank's cutter started back with it a shoe broke I took Jim's then went in to Aunt Ann's got her's came out we went over to Kirklands for dinner came out to church Edith came with us went back for tea Willie took a load of us down to Lyndhurst to X Mas Tree it cost me 50 cts I lent Rob $1 stayed at Aunt Ann's to night
26 I came over to H.Yorks got Andy we came out to R's
Mustards had dinner went down to Mrs R. Cripps she agree to let me put on Ins. & put in foot stone for $4.20 came back to Elgin Mrs Kelsey paid me in full $75 see Rob York he agreed to let me cut on Ins & put in marble marker for $10 he paid me to-day I am to do it before the last of June and Crisp again July spent 10 cts came home have to-night was a nice day $316.49 cts
27 Jim & I went over to F.Thurstonin morn with cutter came home I had dinner hitched on buggy came down to Sand Bay went up in see R. Free had tea at V.Goff's stayed alnight at R. Gray's was a beautiful day.
28 called on a Mr Blair on to A. Earl's & then to Smiths had dinner got a $115 order & E.J. Earl picked on tow des. I am to show them to his sister Maggie which ever she choose he said for met to get it ready & for me to put his name on the order E.J.Earl the price of turned top job is $30 or Des No. the other was Des. No. price $25 his sister choosed the tured top job or Des.No. at $30 I came on to Jas Grier then to Lansdowne & to Town got in a little after five was a nice day.
29th got some teeth fixed in fore-noon got a draft for V.M.Co $25.32 cts cost 15 cts & one for
T.T.& Co. for $92 cost 15 cts sent sent them away ordered Earl job from Milne Coutts & Co it rained mostly alday is warm have to-night $198.71 cts
30th I settled with Mrs Cornett in full to present date gave her $73 she told me at noon it was to much so we looked it over again in eve she gave me back $5 I got a draft for Jas. Hutcheon for $98 cost 25 cts sent it to hime to-day paid Dr Mabee for fixing teeth this morn $1.75 Johnny Bell came in paid me my Int. in full 75 & 125 on principle I paid him for the oats I bargained for sometime ago 50 bu at 32 cts.
a bu. came to $16 Mr Harris paid me in full for Monaughan job ordered by Mrs John Murphy $35 I gave Willie Bishop 5 cts I went Lansdowne in Eve after noon to see J. Nunn see Geo lent him $10 got back for tea it was a soft windy day good wheeling I left Wm Lagden $188.90 to put in bank for me on Monday have left $50.76 cts
31st came out home in fore noon had dinner came over to church stayed at Aunt Anns to-night it snowed not enough for sleighing to night was a nice day
Jan 1st 1906 I brought Aunt Ann out to Hall to vote came down home had dinner came to Lyndhurst got Andy we came out to Mrs Isaac Jackson's sold a $75 job we came back to Geo. Berry's sold a $25 job had tea At Andy's gave Guy 25 cts got a peace of rope in Lyndhurst for halter 9 cts went to box social at Jas. Somerville 55 cts for box it snowed a little to-day not enough for sleighing I came out to Sarahs to-night
2nd started for Elgin went on out to Michael Freemans had dinner sold a $140 gave the youngsters 15 cts came on out to R. Sheldons there to Orange Pennock's on to Mr Blacks had tea on to W.H Sly's
stayed alnight was a chilly day snowed a little
3rd came to Elgin Mr. Sly came with me to the opening of the new English church I gave Mrs Sly 25 cts on a quilt 25 cts collection 50 cts for dinner $1 on subscription to church spent 25 cts in Elgin left about five for Newboro stoped at McGonnigals came on to Newboro spent 10 cts was a nice day started to storm this eve have to-night $47.25 stoped at Geo Prestons
4th settled with Geo about half past ten $1 it rained untill near then I went out to Mr F. Moore's had dinner sold a $125 job came back to Newboro went up to Mrs Monahans back to Newboro called on the Stantons
boys came on out to the Narrow locks to Tom McCartys had tea I got to Sarahs about half past nine it stormed mostly alday in showers of snow and rain
5th I took Billys mare went out to Forfare had dinner at Thos. Hales went on to Wm Poole's got a check for $110 pay in full got to Sarah's for tea came on out spent 10 cts stoped a while stayed at Aunt Ann's to night was a nice day a little windy.
6th I brought Flossie out Bob & I came to Town with there cutter I left my buggy at Aunt Ann's I paid Goff in full on my way in for fixing Flossie teeth 40 cts got in for dinner got Poole check cashed $110 cost 25 cts
left this money in bank paid $41.08 cts Duty 85 cts to T. Hicks for hauling it up paid John Kidd in full for wood $2 I got $1 from Bob gave him $2 I borrowed $10 from Billy Lagden went to show 25 cts 15 cts was a wind day & snowed a little we stayed at Mrs Cornetts to-night
7th We had breakfast at Mrs Cornetts came out to R. Moulton's for dinner on to church R. G paid me $1 owes me $1 yet I came home to-night
8th I went over to Uncle John's in fore-noon had dinner called at Joshua & Mrs Singleton's she paid me $11 called at uncle Ben's & Franks came home for tea was a cold day H. Pownall started to work for Jim to-day
9th was a very cold day & night
9th It stormed hard for a whild this morn I went up to Seeleys Bay on down to had dinner brought there cutter home I took it down Sunday night I went on over to Jonses Falls called on S. Stuart he agreed to let us put on his fathers Jus one monument in Elgin cemetery went on in to Jas. Monaughan's she agreed to let me know inside of 3 weeks if she would take job No 3452 @ 10" job in blue marble at $35 I came back had tea went over to John Kirklands spent eve stayed at Aunt Anns to-night was a chilly day
10th it started to snow have this morn $22.25 cts I came to Morton
called on Mrs Manuel Henry Dean came on to Joe Tye's had dinner then to Lyndhurst called on Mrs Ross Shuffield partially picked out a suit of clothes from Geo Charleton $18 came home I went up to McConnells for Jim had tea 25 cts for a scarf to-day & 20 cts for shoe on mare it only snowed a little to-day
11th Mother Little Andy & I started for Westport this morn Mother gave me 60 cts to keep for her I left horse at Gilberts my ticket was 75 cts I paid for Mothers 65 cts we all had dinner at Mary's I gave Mother $2 there is races in Westport to-day we went to the Ice 10 cts Admission left for home
a little after five got to Lyndhurst about seven I paid Gilbert 10 cts for horse feed It was a nice day.
12th I helped Andy & I went to Tom Somervill funeral in after-noon I took home I lent Rob 50 cts came down home was a very nice day we had a understanding to-night
13th I came to Lyndhurst ordered a suit of clothes from Geo Charleton $18 seen Andy came back to Wm Berry's had dinner got $32.50 cts am to get the same amount from Andy for rent of the house he is living in I got Berry note for balance $25 for 6 Mo's came on out to Boyd's on to Athens
10 cts for shave spent 10 cts was a nice day had tea & stayed alnight at Alf. Scotts
14th I stayed at Alf Scotts this fore noon came down to Uncle Wm Scotts in after-noon stayed there to-night was a nice day
15th Uncle Wm & I went over to Wm Carlows to see a couple of cows I called at Uncle Geo's O Joshua in after noon left After four went to Greenbush on up to R. Moultons stayed alnight was a nice day
16th It rained mostly alday I came up to Geo. Churchills in Morn stayed alday got a pair of rubbers 85 cts spent 25 cts 75 cts for ticket for entertainment in Town Hall
was the opening of Model school Mr. Borden was present Mr. B. Henderson paid me in full $6. was a very nasty day stayed at Geo's to-night.
17th Geo & I went to Brockville it snowed & froze some last night I got a shave 10 cts 50 cts for dinner called on Mr Wm Richardson & Mrs Baker & B. Dillon came out to Mr L Churches to-night had tea E.& I went to Addison to meeting came back stayed alnight spent 5 cts 7 cts tole was a nice day
18th It snowed last night & part of fore noon stayed for dinner E. & I came over to Temperance lake to a Mr Mansels had tea
went up to Earl's spent eve I came out to Leeder's stayed alnight was a lovely after noon turned cold to-night
19th I came out to Mallorytown had dinner at Frank Blanchards called there to see a Mrs Blanchard from Greenbush came out to Cherry Buels on to Lansdowne had tea at Geo. he is out to E. Earls spent 10 cts was a nice day. have this eve $41.13 cts
20th I gave Renford 9 cts 50 cts for horse feed got to Town about half past ten had dinner at Mrs Cornetts gave Ab Sly $1.87 cts for framing to certificates I.O.O.F & O.O.F I paid Billy the $10 I borrowed a couple weeks ago
fed my horse at J. Gibson's it rained mostly alday & snowed a little last night came out home this after noon
21st I went over to church in after noon was very warm did not put my over coat on stayed at Aunt Anns to-night.
22nd hitched on my buggy came to Lyndhurst on out to Jas Nortons had dinner helped him & D. Landon dig out a fox left there about four came up to Ed. Whites sold a $20 job went on out to Mr. Boyds had tea came up to Mrs F. Pierce's stayed alnight it was warm enought for a day in May rained some to-night
23rd Mrs Pierce paid me in full $18 I throwed of $2 came on to Lyndhurst sold Mrs Edgar a $35 job had dinner at Tom Sly's he gave me $4.50 & my dinner totals $5 It rained mostly all the after noon 25 cts to Mr Harvey for oats to -day the frost is mostly all out I came up to Aunt Ann's spent eve it turned cold to-night
24th I went up to Mrs Imersons sold a $75 job had dinner came on to Bay got a shoe on mare 20 cts sent Edith a card 1 ct came back to W. Staffords sold an $8 job came home Phil & I went over to Charleys a while this eve it froze up hard last night quite cool to-day
25th I lent Jim $31 went up to Geo Brackens sold a $235 monument had dinner came down the 6th Con. to H. Foley's had tea sold a $25 job came on to Lansdowne called on Jas. Grier on my way out got out about eight went to I.O.O.F. at home in Hall 50 cts. I gave father $1 this morn was a lovely day.
26th I paid Goodall 50 cts came out to Union met Mr Jas Grier sold him to Mon 75 & 125 he is to haul one load down for me in bargain called on Mr Ferris & at Wes. Johnson's had dinner sold a $6 job came on out to Wm Shepherds sold a
$30 job was a beautiful day stayed alnight have to-night $31.00
27th came up to T Surplus sold a $55 job came on to Lansdowne had dinner with Geo went to see Mrs Redmond 25 cts for horse feed at Goodalls went back to Armstrong & up home got home a little after six was a nice warm day.
January 28th I went over to church in after-noon & down Bob paid me in full 50 cts was a nice day turned quite cold at night with high winds came home
29th came to Town got in about noon had a letter from Mr Thos. Hales ordering a $100 job I called on Mrs Haskin & Mrs Griffin spent 5 cts went to lodge in eve paid my
dues up to 1st of July 1906 were $3.00 was a nice day
30th Jack L came to shop this morn I got 8 panes of glass & some putty 30 cts Jack helped me put them in & banker a Mon. I paid Jas. Brown in full for wood $3.10 cts spent 15 cts 4 cts for stamps $1 for bran 25 cts for condition powders wrote to Mrs A.J. Young Brockville called on Davy Byers in eve was a lovely day 75 cts for P.O. Box rent gave Lizzie Carr 10 cts
30th Mr Wm Wheeler Jr. paid me in full $8. I have to-night $30.33 cts
31st I got out some tracings for Mon paid my Insurance on stock $6.30 got a pass book 5 cts wrote some in my diary to night partly bar for a ring with Mr Reid was a nice day
Feb 1st 1906 I wrote out the sizes of tracings & ordered the Earl rustic job went down paid Mr Britton $20.50 cts Duty that should of been paid on last lot of granite owing to a clause being left of the Invoice am to get new Invoice then I can get this amount back 25 cts for book of stamps spent eve at Joe Mills sold a mon was a cool windy day have to-night $3.27 cts
2nd I wrote a letter to Jas. Hutcheon ordering six monuments & a card to Milne Coutts & Co. for price on Mills job got out sizes of the bases I want for summer did not mail those to day I called on R. Sheppard & Mrs Cook I got shoes set on mare 40 cts did not pay for this Mrs J. Gibson
gave me $1.50 for apples she sold for Jim I went to hornerite meet a while in eve was a cold day
3rd I sent Jas. Hutcheon two letters Q.Q. Co. one Thos. Hales one & V.M.Co a card I left for home before tea gave Patience their money for apples $1.50 was a nice day
4th it is very windy morn I went to church in hall came over in after-noon & home in eve took my cutter down from Aunt Anns behind buggy it snowed some this eve & to-night
5th I started about nine O'Clock for caintown with the buggy got out to Mr. Reids about one O'clock had dinner Mr Reid was at
Mallorytown with the mare I went to see I came out & seen her left my mare at Fergusons had tea there came to Brockville on the 8.35 cost 30 cts it was a cold windy day I stayed at Mrs Young to night
6th we closed the deal at $245 am to get $130 cash and am to take the mare to-day at $115 I took the 8 O'Clock for Mallorytown 30 cts paid my bill 90 cts came up hitched up my new mare came home got home at half past twelve I drove Jims mare to Lyndhurst this after-noon Patience went with me I called on Mrs T. Somerville came home was a cold day stayed at home to-night
7th I left for town about nice called at R. Moultons for came in with me was a nice day went to show in eve 60 cts
8th 25 cts for stove pipe with damper in I ordered the Mills job from Milne Coutts & Co. wrote a card to Thos. Hales got shoes set on mare 40 cts drawed $25 out of bank took Miss Scott & to Carnaval in eve 60 cts was a nice day
9th I ordered some stock from V.M.Co through Mr Fischer wrote a letter to John A. Rowe con. Earl job mailed this letter & what I wrote yesterday to-day drove mare a while after dinner took with me spent eve at Scotts was a nice day
10th I marked one INs on Grier job this fore-noon got dinner a little early we drove to Lansdowne I left my mare in Geo's care at Goodalls came to Brockville on the 1.38 $1.20 for my return ticket & 70 cts for I came down to Revere house met Ab.Sly & a Mr Bolton we went out to Wayburn came back I spent 25 cts I went up to Ben's had tea we came down spent eve in his office I spent 15 cts was a lovely day but windy
11th had breakfast about ten & I went to St Pauls church then for a walk I came back to Bens called on Geo Scotts & at R. Leedes about a minute had dinner about three we went to Wall St. Me. Church in eve was a nice day I stayed at Ben's to night
12th came up on the 8 O'Clock to Lansdowne 50 cts for horse fee called at Chas. Armstrong's went on down to C.Buels back to Rockport had dinner 50 cts came on up to W. J. McNeils called on Geo came on to John Landons one arm John & to Town got in before six went to lodge in eve was a beautiful day
13th I wrote to Wm Boyd sent him a tracing of a mon. with sizes & prices & wrote to Ben Dillon 4 cts for stamps I left after three for Billy King's down on 6th Con. stayed alnight sold a $75 to be shiped to Webwood sometime in March was a lovely day turned cold in night
14th came to Town in morn I got a ring $7.50 price was nine gave John L. $3 I cleaned up the shop to day was a blustry day with a little snow
15th I painted some letters 65 cts for a blacksmiths harnes 27 cts for files snowed a little not enough for sleighing was a cool day have to-night $10.30
16th I sharpened a lot of tools at Seal's Bros shop $1 for hair Medicine went to show in eve 35 cts has been a lovely day
17th I marked the Ins. on King job wrote to Jas hutcheon left town about five for home went up to Willetsholme seen Herman Pierce got home about eight was a nice day
18th I went over to church in after noon & out to Sarahs this eve was a nice day
19th I went out to Phillipsville had dinner at Wes. Tackaberry's he said for me to get those two footstones ready that he ordered last summer I came back to Morton John Monaughan ordered a $48 I came on up to Aunt Anns had tea came out spent eve was a beautiful day.
20th I went over to A. Scotts sold a $105 job came back to Frank Wills he paid me in full $50 came on to Pine Grove cemetry got Ins off a monument came down to E. Pages had dinner stoped a while came to Charleton cost 10 cts went to Eng. church social to-night wsa a nice but rained mostly alnight social was 50 cts
21st I marked Ins on Jackson job & done some tracing on Grier job 10 cts for a shave have to-night $39.62 cts rained mostly alday.
22nd Jim was in with a load of lumber I went to show in eve 25 cts was a beautifull day
23rd I got the marble base ready for King job done it outside it was a warm enough for a day in May drove a while in eve was a beautiful day
24th I got out a couple of tracings we did not work much this afernoon I paid Jack Kidd for wood 2.50 gave Jack L. $10 spent 15 cts left for home about five Philip is quite sick I went up Andy & I set up alnight with him
25th I came home after breakfast Mary J. paid me in full for little book $1.50 I came over to church in after-noon stayed at Aunt Ann's to-night it rained some to-day.
25th I got to town about noon I went down paid $24.50 cts duty we got the Dobbs job in the shop it turned cold to-day & snowed some
27th I paid my dues in the C.O.F. up to the !st of Mar $2.20 I got $30 from B. Shield that H. Pierce left there for me on Saturday was a nice day but quite cold have to-night $31.66 cts 31.66
28th E. Gonyou & I went down got the 5 cases of granite I paid him 40 cts. I wrote 3 P.C. tody got 2 shoes on mare 40 cts did not pay this got a draft for Jas. Hutcheon for $150 cost 25 cts has been a nice day.
Mar 1st 1906 I sent Jas Hutcheon his draft for & an order for 3 Mon's wrote S.B. Norton for price on three bases 4 cts for stamps 10 cts harness repairs a plug of tobacco for Jack 10 cts spent 5 cts. was a lovely day
Mar 2nd I marked the Ins. on the Nolan job Wm Joel McNeil came up gave me $135 for the Young mare I spet 50 cts gave Jack L. $10 T. Dempster let me have his mare to come out home got some washer mad at Seal's Bros & an old buggy left Town a little after four was a cool day.

7th paid my bill at Goodalls 50 cts came to Town I bought a mare and harness from a young Cornett $100 A. Leadbeater was in I got his new not got the Int $20 gave him the old one cost 15 cts to get it out of bank Jim is in had tea & stayed alnight with me he gave me $9 & paid Lu. the 40 cts I told him to keep the other 60 cts 80 cts for a bag of oats to-day we tried to have a settlement Put it off for a while
8th Wilsons Delivery in to-day Jim traded the Webster mare with Watt for a new buggy I lent him $4 to pay on washing machine R. Wood was in & ordered a $115 stone Mr. M. Forrester was in & wanted me to cancell order for mon I told him I would not cancell the order until I got a new one he wanted me to write his brother in Winnipeg & to send him a des. I promised to do so. Jim had breakfast & dinner with me I went to Lansdowne before tea it was quite stormy snowing & raining mostly all day.

6th sent a card to H. York a letter to Emma Pownell 10 cts for envelopes 5 cts for souviner cards sent one to Rev. W. F. FitzGerald & one to a letter to Jas. E. Donnelly 2 cts for stamp 8 cts for hooks for for Design case i rained mostly all the fore-noon have to-day noon 80.40 cts sent Renford Dillon a post card & letters to Herman Pierce Joe Stanton Ben Kirker gave Jack L. $5 was a nice after-noon wrote in this book to-night
7th I fixed over some posts got two shoes on mare 35 cts did not pay this gave E. Landon 50 cts for putting handles on design case and for a thing to role it up in lent E. Gonyou $1 he hauled a load up from station for me it was Spence Base Freight was $6.81 cts & a few pieces of marble 25 cts to Mr Beatty for straight Edge
& some blocks was a very warm day wrote a while in eve Stel. was with me it rained hard in night
8th have this morn $66.94 cts & got & over charge on Spence base of $1.46 that I paid yesterday drawed $20 out of bank spent 10 cts wrote V.M.Co. was a nice day
9th Went down paid 82.40 Freight on a carload of bases Gonyou & I hauled up 6 loads to-day borrowed $13 from J. Gibson gave it to Mr Kenny he helped us load 4 load in after-noon I came out home to-night it was after nine when I got away paid for my new Dis case to-day $3.50 gave Earl 5 cts to-day was a lovely day.
10th went over in afternoon it rained a shower in fore-noon & one in eve stayed at Aunt Anns to-night
11th Mr Wm Morris & I went up to Sunbury called at Shannons Will Webbs had dinner on to Albert Webbs had tea came on out to Langworths & home to Town got to Town near eleven was a nice day but a cold night I sent Mrs Dobbs a letter from Seeleys Bay 2 cts for stamp spent 15 cts Mr Joe Stanton paid me $22 owes me $3 yet.
12th Sent Jas. Hutcheon a card Q.Q. & Co. a letter Mr Jas Davis paid me in full for posts $1 Jack L. started on Dobbs base to-day Mr. Kenny is working on Nolans they both helped get 4 load up from station yesterday fore-noon & Mr. Kenny started Nolan base yesterday Jim came in this eve I washed my buggy was a lovely day.
13th We finished loading Spence job went out with it had dinner at C Page's I paid Gonyou in full this morn 3.50 was a lovely day Spence job is 235 am to get 200 cash & a small monument in cemetry got home about nine had tea at Mrs Cornetts spent 15 cts.
14th Mrs Spence paid me $80 I went down paid $90.79 cts Duty Jim hauled up two load & Jimmie Bishop 2 load with one horse got through a little after twelve we loaded Nolan job took it out erected it was $80 received no pay had tea at Johnny Dillons I spent 5 cts was a nice day was after twelve when we got home
15th $1 to C. Fraid for a shirt & I paid him $4 on tie 10 I owe him we loaded Dobbs job Jim left about eight I left about ten Mr Wm Morris came out with
me we had dinner at R Gambles Mrs Dobbs had no stone there & did not come out Jim got to cemetry about three I unloaded him he went home & I went down to Andys a while in eve was a very warm day I stayed at Aunt Anns to-night
16th I went down got Andy we erected Dobbs job got through about about three O'Clock & I went out to Mauds I called at Wm Boyd's & we called at Mrs F. Pierces on our way home was a very warm day I spent 10 cts stayed at Aunt Ann's to-night
17th It rained mostly alday & I went to Bay to hear Masons sermon in after-noon I came home to-night
18th called on Mrs Ellis & argued got to Town at noon 10 cts for post cards 25 cts for stamps sent a card to Elgin station Agt. a letter to S.B. Norton
Jim came in in eve had tea with me 60 cts for a fork 13 cts for lead pencils spent 10 cts gave Mr. Jas. Taylor 65 cts for two plank was a very warm day.
19th sent cards to F. Leavine Chas. Pennock Mrs C. Jackson 25 cts to E. Landon for harness repair gave Jim $2 have left at ten O'Clock $1.37 Jim left about eight with a load for Elgin I paid Jimmy Bishop 55 cts for carting last week I went down with Mr Geo. Cross we moved mon put in cement foundation I had tea at his place he gave me $1 I settled up with Jack this fore-noon up to Friday 15the when he started on Granite it was the 1 ft Die Grier job found he had earned $64. $64.60 cts & take up $29 leaves a balance due him of $35.60 cts was a warm day.
20th I took McDonald posts out set them there is $5 coming on them also set Rogers Will paid me $4 on them there is a balance of $4 due yet was a very warm day Jim got in about half past eight he got $10 from Andy this is to go on Wm Berry account leaves a balance of $22.50 due me yet Jim stayed lat nght at Mrs. Tools
21st had a kind of setllement with Mr Kenny said I would give him $2 a day or 65 cts a Car. foot Jim left about half past seven with a load for Elgin I sent a card to Tom Dillon a letter to J.W. Grier Jack Leede put a raised traced letter on Leavine on Leavine job I got a shave 10 cts started for home about five called at Boyles on my out had tea at stayed at Aunt Anns to-night gave Mr. Kenny $5 & John L. $5 was a nice day
22nd I came on to Elgin got Pennock foundation & Leavines in & Jackson hole dug set Smith posts & two for Kerr set Kirst & Wiltse Mr. Kirst paid me $4 on them owes $3 yet Mrs Kerr gave me $5 for there's gave Jim $1 this morn he stayed at Sarahs last night went in this morn loaded up got out as far as Moultons was a lovely day have ton-night $13.67 cts
23" Flossie had a colt this morn I finish Jackson foundation & set Graham posts we erected Leavine Pennock & Jackson jobs Mrs Jackson paid me in full $75 & ordered another $35 job it was about three when Jim got along Pennocks is $92.50 Leavines $75 got no money on either
nor for Graham posts they are $8 settled on bill $3 Jim had tea & horse feed at Pats I spent 45 cts sold Mrs R. Smith a job for Mother & father $180 job came out by the 11 corners up to Mrs Pennocks did not see them went on out to Mrs Davisons the other side of Philipsville & home it rained a few showers to-day
24th gave Earl 5 cts had a sleep came over to church in after-nnon there was a shower to-day came home th to-night
25th I came to Town this morn went down got a draft for $100 for Jas Hutcheon cost 25 cts went down paid Duty 2.20 on marble spent 25 cts Joe Boyle paid me in full for Nolan job $80 I paid J. Gibson the $13. I borrowed a couple of weeks ago wrote a letter to E.C.Sliter a card to Wm Bilton was a nice warm day
26th I went out with Root job got back a little after four it is $40 got no pay was a nice day Jack helped me about 2 1/2 hrs to move stock to-day Jim came in this eve I paid D. Lloyd 50 cts for Jim's lodging & beakfast last week lent young McLaughlin $5 gave Jack L. 30 cts was a nice day Jim stayed at Mrs Tools
27th I started for Union left the men to load the two Grier jobs Jim brought the granite & Grier the bottom bases & Earl posts I had dinner Griers we had tea at Geo. the two jobs came to $200 got no money on them Jim had dinner in Town was a very warm day it after eleven when we got home to Town
28th lent Jim $2 gave Jimmy Bishop 55 cts for a sack of cement went down to Toronto back gave my note for $400 for one month this pays my old one of 300 due tomorrow they kept the interest $2.20 on the new note
Jack L. gave me $40 that Mrs Spence left with him for me for Root job I went down to station paid $4.28 Freight spent 15 cts gave Jack L. $25 Mr Kenny $10 wrote to Miss Pownell got a draft for Jas Hutcheon for $100 cost 25 cts sent it to him I left after five came out to Sarah's I wrote to Mrs A Young to-day or yesterday paid S. Fraid in full $6 got a hat 50 cts a collar 25 cts left after five came out stoped a while on to Sarahs was a warm day rained some to night Jim got out as far as Sarahs with Bilton job
29th I brought my horse on to Elgin left her there went the rest of the way to Newboro with Jim we got out about noon got Bilton job up about four cemented two old slabs in got $1 for it Mr. Bilton did not pay me owes me $77 I paid our $2 had dinner & tea at Prestons got Elgin about half past eight paid Pat for horse feed 50 cts spent to-day 1.20 was a nice day but a hard trip on team put in two footstones for Wes. Tackaberry $3 got know pay.
30th spent 15 cts paid Pat 75 cts came out to Thos. Morris Mrs Dobbs she paid me $40 on monument on to Chas. Pennock he was to Elgin I came up there he paid me in full $92.50 came on to Ham Cooms had dinner
back W.H. Earl he paid me in full for repair work last year $2.80 on to Godkins had tea started for home by Delta called at Joe Gallaway's it rained last night & this morn & some this after noon I have to-night $164.13 cts
July 1st Went for bath Thos. D & wife were over I went over to church in afternoon & home in eve was a nice day.
2nd Andy & I came to Town this morn Andy gave me $10 on P Berry Rent to apply an account for monument leaves a balance of $12.50 due at end of year Mr Joe Stanton sent me $3 pay in full I was put in as constable in after noon a fair Ground Willie Wilson agreed to give me $1 for acting
I spent 40 cts to day it rained some in morn was quite cloudy alday there was a large crowd here to day I gave Mrs R.J. Johnson $25 on rent
3rd got a letter from Miss Pownell & one from J.W. Grier for $100 I sent Q.Q.Co. $77.51 pay in full S.B. Norton $25 they cost 35 cts also sent Q.Q.Co an order for some more bases wrote Peter Morgan sent card to Lyn station Agt. Elgin S.Agt. T.Surplis Wm Sheppard F. Sheffield came out home for tea took Mrs Ellis & Argue up to Olivet they agreed to take a stone at $75 was a nice day.
4th I came to Town went up to Baptist cemetery be I came got ins for Imerson job laid it on
and one on Youngs I wrote a letter to F.W. Johnston cards to H.R.Foley Geo. White Mr. Freeman Edwin White Moses Doyle washed my buggy in eve it rained about all the fore-noon 10 cts for stamps & 10 cts for cards.
5th wrote a letter to W.G.Hales ordered two jobs from Jas. Hutcheon wrote cards to Mrs Thos Imerson Andrew Dillon got a draft for Jas. Hutcheon for #100 cost 25 cts got a lap cloth from W.J. Gibson $1.25 got some envelopes 10 cts a botttle of muscilage 5 cts Jim came in for dinner we straightened up around the yard this after noon & onboxed a lot Jack helped us load Bracken job after tea Mr. Johnson came over said he ought to have 50 cts a month more rent for barn & shop together I agreed to give it to hime from 1st of July was a nice day
6th We put die of Bracken job on my waggon left about six had dinner at Geo's got to Town about eight had tea at resturant 80 cts I spent 10 cts T.W. Johnston paid his note to-day 29.85 cts in bank was a nice warm day
7th We loaded Haskim job Jim left about half past seven I loaded Bracken post & Berrys a lot of footstones got a lu nch 10 cts wrote to S.B.Norton ordered two bases sent Jas. Hutcheon a draft for $100 cost 25 cts gave Jack L. $5. Mr Kenny $10 I left about ten came out to Olivet Jointed Bracken job left there's & Berrys posts there on to Baptist erected Haskim job it is $110 got none on it gave Jim $2 to give Hammock for stone for foundation got
through about five I had tea at mrs Lillies took Jims mare went on to Lyndhurst set Creegan job $8 got none of it Jack traced one side of a 1 ft Die to-day & lettered 4 footstones I got home about eleven Dan McConnel let his colt with me this week I drove it to-day & John McLaughlin had mine out to McConnells I sent a card to E. Edgers was a very warm day
8th Went for a bath & over in afternoon drove Dan's colts & JIms buggy was a very warm day
9th got to Town about ten sent cash to Geo. White A. Scott marked Ins on Young job filled letters on Scotts T Surplis came up got his mon 60 cts to E Landon for harness repair came down to Geo. after tea was a nice day
10th started for Young Mills had dinner at Sam Avery's got mon up it was $51 got no money Renford went with me we got back to Geo's for tea I spent 18 cents to-day gave Renford 5 cts was a nice day cloudy by times
11th Took Mrs R. Horton out to cemetry stoped on our way out got Geo sold here a $125 mon paid Goodall 75 cts for horsefeed got to Town about eleven I marked Ins. on Freeman job & got out tracing of an orange emblem for Scott job 5 cts for post-card sent one to Andy Mr. McConnell of Lansdowne paid me in full for lettering & mooring Cornett job in Union was a lovely day $8.00
12th I gave Jack L. $6 he did not work went to Brockville got a bag of oats 85 cts and a bag from Johnny Bell we called it 2 1/4 bu making a total of 35 bu in all that I have got leaves a balance of 15 due yet I put Orange Emblem on Scott job Jim came in this eve after tea I spent 10 cts was a lovely day
13th I sent a card to V.M.Co & letters to J.H. Chapman & Helen C. Gamsby have this morning about nine O'Clock $2.60 Jim went out this morn with Struthers & Edgers jobs to Morton I went down paid 60 cts duty on a white slab & 52 cts Freight got the over charge on carload of bases was $21.44 cts that came about a month ago I hauled up two load of marble got a letter from T. Leavine with
check for $75 got it cashed in Merchants Bank cost 15 cts went down to Toronto Bank drawed out $25 got a draft for 100 for Jas. Hutcheon cost 25 cts sent it to him & a receipt to Will Spence a card to W.T. Hales & one to Wm Lagden got a writing pad 25 cts 8 cts for stamps gave Jack L. $10 Mr. Kenny $10 left before tea a little after five came out met Jim near O Herrin's he came to Town I went on out Luey Haskin paid me in full $110 I came on to Joe Gallaway he ordered a $125 for Old Mr & Mrs Nuttall I got a pair of drawers to-day 50 cts came on to Aunt Anns stayed alnight was a very warm day
14th have this morn $111.65 came out erected Jas Scott mon ws $110 got no money on it we had dinner at R. Gambles I came on to Morton Erected Edgars & Struthers Edges 35 did not pay Struthers paid in full $37 Andy helped me a while I gave him 50 cts had tea at Mr. A. Scott's Jim went home after dinner I spent 15 cts Will Green paid me in full $78 I stoped a while stayed at Uncle Johns tonight
15th Jacob & I went for a bath this morn I came on down home for dinner & over to church in after-noon was a very warm day stayed alnight at Aunt Anns
16th Andy & I wet over to H. Yorks he paid me in full for small headstone $6 I went over to see about a horse came by Sweets Corners home had dinner came to Town Flossie took the horse to-day Mr. Harris paid me 75 cts for use of Barn & hay for Taylor's horses paid my box rent 75 cts up to 1st of June 1907 spent some of the eve at Will Denny's then went to I.O.O.F. Lodge paid my dues up to Jan 1st 1907 $3 was a nice warm day Johnny Bell left me 10 1/2 bu. of oats owes me 4 1/2 yet
