October. 1914.

Oct. 1 - thurs Practiced this pm.

Oct. 2. - Fri.- moved in our cook-stove & swept upstairs.

Oct. 3 - Sat.- Went to B-& gave Vera a lesson. also Annie went with us. Henry & papa went to B. tonight "Grand day and night."

Oct. 4.-Sun. - Edna & Gladys & I walked to Presbyterian church this morning & I was at Landons for dinner. S.S. this pm. Also the "Throop family" here for for tea. service 7:30 Eve.

Oct. 5.- Mon. - washed & cleaned the shed. practised this Eve.

Oct. 6. - Tues. - Gladys & I walked out for a lesson. Mrs. H. Lockwood was here this p.m.

Oct. 4. - Wed.- Monument unveiled this pm. in Read's Cemetery to the memory of Wr. Ziba m. Philips. a large crowd present. We wnt also. Beautiful Day.

Oct. 8 - thurs. - Ironed, Mama was at Mrs. Wright's today. Choir practise this Eve.

Oct.9. - fri. - very busy.

Oct. 10.- Sat. - went to B- this a.m. & gave Vera a lesson. arrived home 12.30 p.m. went to the church 3 p.m. & helped decorate for "thanksgiving service."

Oct. 11. - Sun. - S.S. Rally 2.p.m Rev Mr. Boyd spoke in connection with it. went to St. George's thanksgiving service 4 {illegible}.

Oct. 12. - Mon. - "Beautiful day" "Thanksgiving" Elsie & Annie & children drove up this morning & spent the day. Mrs. N. Donnelly (Mrs. J. Dalton's sister) died 4 a.m.

Oct. 13. - Tues. - Mrs. F. Read & I helped (Rev.) Mr. Boyd load his "market-buggy" this a.m. & swept the church. Henry & I met Mr. R. Bishop 1.38 p.m. at M-. Henry, mama Mrs. Bishop & I drove up to Mr. & Mrs. Bovaird's to attend their 5th anniversary (wooden wedding) Had a very good time.

Oct.14. - Wed. - Mrs. Will Bisell & Jean were here for dinner. Papa. Mr. Bishop & I went to Mrs. Donnelly's funeral 2.30 p.m. at Bowies house. Mrs. Bishop remained in B-.

Oct.15. Thurs.- Mr. S. Sargent is helping papa & Henry cement. practised at Annie's this p.m.

Oct. 16. - fri. - papa went to B - 10.30 a.m. practised at Mr Dalton's

Oct. 17 - Sat. - Our factory stopped to-day.

Oct. 18. - Sun. - S.S. this p.m. Annie & Willard & Howard were here for tea. Mrs. Manley Field came here 6.30 Eve as Manley took Eva to B - no service on account of the rain.

Oct. 19. - Washed, practised this p.m. & tools a lesson to-night.

Oct. 21. - Wed. - Mama was up to Grandma's to-day.

Oc. 22. - thurs. - Annie came up this p.m. & helped us pick up potatoes. We went down to see Maggie R- at Beattie's to-night. Annie stayed all night.

Oct 23. Fri. - Annie & Willard both helped to-day pick up potatoes. we finished 3 p.m.

Oct. 24.- Sat. - Went to B- & gave Vera a lesson this a.m. Busy this pm.

Oct. 25 - Sun. - S.S. & service this p.m. Rev. Mr. James N. Augusta spoke. Retired early after writing-to L. B. D. & Mrs. B-

Oct. 26.- Mon. - Washed. rained & snowed. Cleaned the big closet also. "Colder"

Oct. 27. - Tues. -Elise, Annie & I went up to Grandma's to-day. Rec'd a letter from L. D. also one from Uncle Hugh saying Vera Walsh has scarlet fever.

Oct. 28. - Wed. - Finished cleaning the cellar.

Oct. 29. - thurs. - Ironed.

Oct. 30. - fri. - Cloudy. 6 years to-day. Mary E & I drove to P-&- the surprise party came here in the evening. (30yrs anniversary)

Nov. 1 - Sun. - Henry went up to Grandma's - this a.m. no. s.s. mama went to service. & Maud E. played this Eve.

Nov. 2. - Mon.- Cloudy. Cleaned the parlor. "Mason's Night"

Nov. 3. - tues. - Washed. started to clean the dining-room. Mama went down to Geordie Landon's this p.m."husking bee" at Hyne's to-night.

Nov. 4. - Wed.- finished the dining-room.

Nov. 5. - thurs. - Started to clean the chamber. & ironed

Nov. 6. - fri. - Nine 191 years to-day. Eva Newell died. (4 p.m)

Cleaned the 3 bed-rooms

Nov. 7. -Sat. - Cleaned the halls & cistern this a.m. Mrs. J. Dalton & I drove to B. - 12.noon. arrived home 5. p.m.

Nov.8.- Sun. - S. S. & service this p.m. Rev. S.W. Boyd was here for tea. also Annie, Willard & Howard. Walked to St. George's this Eve.

Nov. 9. - Mon. - Henry is 35 to-day. Did several odd jobs to-day. Very cold.

Nov. 10. - tues. - Elsie & Eula, Annie & Howard & I drove out to Will Throop's this a.m. also called at Rev. Mr. & Mrs. Boyd's, Sarah,s & the new store arrived home 6 o'clock.

Nov. 11. - Wed. The 2 Mrs. Landon's were here to-day. Practised this p.m.

Nov. 12. - Thur. Went down to Annie's this p.m. Elsie & Mrs. Jas. Simpson were there in the Eve. remained all night.

Nov. 13. - Fri - very blustry. Arrived home 2 p.m.

Nov. 14. - Sat. - Cleaned windows "beautiful day."

Nov. 15. - Sun. = Rainy day. No. S.S. or service.

Nov. 16. - Mon. washed. Gladys & I walked down to Mr. Robertson's for our lessons.

Nov. 17. - Tues. Mr. Chas. Johns put in new batteries in our telephone this a.m. Practised - this p.m.

Nov. 18. - Wed. Went down to Elsie's on the milk.-buggy. Their sale - this pm. Annie, Mrs. Simpson, Lily Ferguson, Mrs. Dalton & I were there in the afternoon. Arrived home 9 Eve.

Nov. 19. - Thur. - Papa took 2 pigs to B - which they butchered yesterday morn. Edna & Gladys. L. - came up this p.m. & we called on Mrs. Clair Brown. They were here for tea then went to choir - practise this Eve.

Nov. 20. - Fri - went down to Elsie's on the milk-buggy & helped Elsie as she is making my coat.

Nov. 21.- Sat. - papa & mama went to B - this morn & mama had a tooth extracted. Also Elsie Hyne & Charlie went to B - & Ethel & Eula stayed here. Very busy day. Henry went to B.- this Eve.

Nov. 22. - Sun. - S. S. & service - this p.m.

Nov. 23. - Mon.- washed. Papa drew home a load of coal this p.m.

Nov.24. - Tues. - Mama & the 2 Mrs. Landon's were visiting at Gilpin's this a.m. & Read's this p.m. Maud, Muriel & Ruby McBratney were here this Eve to practice for Sun. Eve.

Nov. 25.-Wed. - Had my head washed this morn. helped Elsie - this p.m.

Nov. 26. - Thur. - Papa took me to Maitland & I went to Prescott 3.00 p.m. L.D.& Mrs. B - met me stayed with Mrs. B. - to night.

Nov. 27. - Fri. - was at L.D's to-day, & went to the concert this Eve. in the S.S. Hall.

Nov. 28 .-Sat. - went to the Burg-this p.m. L.D. Mrs. Bishop, Ruby & I also a Mrs. Cummings, arrived home 4.30 p.m. stayed at Mr. Bishop's this night.

Nov. 29.- Sun. - "Beautiful day." Went to M. Church this morn with Mrs. B & Ruby. Had "turkey" at L.D's. then went to SS this p.m. with L.d. also service 7. Eve. Went for a long walk after S.S.

Nov. 30. Mon. - Had dinner at Mrs. B's came to M - 1:27 p.m & Papa met me. Mason's night.

Dec. 1. - Tues. - Elsie's birthday I have been up to Elsie's all day. Went to Landon's this Eve to come home with mama as she was there to a small quilting.

Dec. 2. - Wed. - Mama & the 2 Mrs. Landon's were at Annie's to-day. Practised this p.m. Rainey Eve.

Dec. 3.- Thur - Went our for a lesson this a.m. Washed a few things this p.m. Mama went up to Mrs. Wright's on an errand. Practise to-night at the church.

Dec.4. - fri. - Did sweeping & dusting this a.m. & practiced this p.m.

Dce. 5. - Sat . - Busy this a.m. practiced the "drill" this p.m. at the church.

De Rifle Assoc. Meeting to-night at the Hall. Mrs. Dalton & Mr. Wm. Simpson were here. this Eve.

Dec. 6. - Sun.- "Anniversary Services at Algonquin" Mrs. Dalton & I drove {illegible} for morning service at 11 a.m. & went to will throop's for dinner. arrived home 5 p.m. Beautiful day. but cold.

Dece. 7.- Mon. - Washed. practiced.

Dec. 8. - Tues. - Mr. Landontooke Gladys & I out for our lessons this a.m. Mrs. Dalton & mama were in B- to Dr. Shaver's to-day. Practiced to-night

Dec. 9.- Wed. - Cleaned stove-pipes. Was at Mr. Kyle's this p.m. for a little while. practiced to-night

Dece. 10. - Thurs. - Ironed. party at Waineis to-night.

Dec. 11. - fri. - Edna, Gladys & I cleaned the lamps & swept the church.

Dec. 12. - Sat. - Practiced this p.m. for "drill". Henry & I were at {illegible} this Eve.

Dec. 13. - Sun. - S. S. this p.m. Miss Dixon & I went over to fred Read's after S. S. & came over to service at {illegible} Eve. stormed after church.

Dec. 14. - Mon. - Ironed. Stormy day. A short practice to-night

Dec. 16. - Wed. - papa went out to see Uncle {illegible} & they took him to the hospital 6 Eve.

Dec. 16. - Wed. - papa was in B - this a.m. & Henry & I went to Mr. Albert Boyd's funeral 2.p.m. at Algonquin church. Practice to-night

Dec.14.- thur. - I stayed with Ethel & Ella while Elsie went to B - practice in the hall to-night.

Dec. 19. - Sat. - Busy. stormy day.

Dec.21.- Mon. - Washed Stormed till noon this p.m. prepared for S.S. Christmas tree to-night Had a large crowd

Dec.22. - tues.- straightened up at the hall this a.m. went to Row's Corner's Xmas tree 2. p.m. Retired early.

Dec. 23. - Wed. - papa is 61. yrs. to-day. Preparing for Xmas. reviwed an Xmas postal.

Dec. 24.- thurs. - Very busy cooking & cleaning for Xmas. Decked the "tree" to-night Expect Santa. Mr. Walker brought us some Xmas "syrup" this Eve.

"Dec.25." - fri.- Christmas Day. Elsie, {illegible} & family arrived 10.30 a.m. & Annie's, p.m. All here for tea. Mrs. Will Read was here this p.m.

Rec'd cards from Laura S. to-night. Had a good time. All went away 8 p.m. "Very cold.'

Dec.26. - Sat. - Busy straightening up. Ada {illegible} funeral was 1 p.m. at the Baptist church algonquin.

Dec. 27. - Sun. -papa & will I.- trove to B- to see Uncle {illegible}. this p.m. S.S. this p.m. Mr. {illegible} spoke

this Eve. 9. present.

Dec. 28. - Mon.- "Mason's. St John's Night" alone this Eve.

Dec. 29. - tues - straightened at the hall this a.m.

Dec. 30. - Wed. - Went down to Annie's this p.m. Edna and Rena Nash were there. also Melirlle & Edith Corbett.

Dec.31. - thurs.- Mama {illegible} up to Elsie's today. Annie & Howard came up today for New years. 3 p.m. Choir practice to night.

Jan 1-fri.- New Year's Day.

very quiet played games this Eve.

Jan.2-Sat.- Annie's birthday. Annie & Howard went home 1.p.p. Busy. Uncle {illegible} is very weak to-day. "stormy day."

Jan.3. - Sun. Will I.-& papa went in to B- to see Uncle {illegible} this p.m. Rev. S. W. Boyd. preached this p.m. His nephew was with him. Elsie & family reamined for tea. Mr. {illegible} Wright died 6 p.m.
