After dinner I killed two chickens the picked on & I one the took the insides out. I got Will to kill the other two & we dressed them for Mrs. Day 5 3/4. The first two Will took to Kesters on the bill no school the children guarded the cows. we drawed two barrels of water he went after coal Arthur to Heximers. at night I worked the butter, pealed a pumkin & a lot of pears & blacked the stove.
Sat 17. The children guarded the cows, night & morning. Marjorie went to Clifton, got Gordons shoes & stockings, started quite early, took 7 lbs & 44 of butter & two doz eggs @ 27 pr doz & two chicken 5 3/4. got a shak 45, sugar 25 candy 5 biscuits 10 Quincee 13 electric oil 25. Took 2 doz for Fannie. I swept & cleaned both rooms made a cake & four pumkin pies killed & dressed a black pullet for supper, scrubed all the boards swept the yard right befor carried two pails of water from the school house boiled 4 pots of mush milked the cows just as Will cam to separate Fannie gave us some peaches & green tomatoes
Sun 18 dreadful hot like a day in summer. The children went to church Marjorie could not get her shoe on for her corn. Mill Dells girl & their teacher to Wills. the preacher went to Bella Montague. 8 weeks ago was Pauls last sunday here. Arthur went to the brick church, & in the evening took Fannie & Minnie Marshall for Sawes church. Kate & Frank here in the evening.
Mon 19 looked like & did sprinkle Marjorie went up to Georges after a load of wood I went down to the school house for two pails of water. After she brought the load she went down & guarded the cows untill noon I unloaded it & put it in the barn after dinner we went up & got a load & I stayed to Maggie's untill she came back we got another load & I came back & Mrs Buyers was here when we came back. They were drawing cornstacks down in the barn. Marjorie went after another load of wood cold north east {written above east} wind.
Teu 20 Mrs. Rogers went over here for dinner. The children guarded the cows untill near eleven. Then we got an early dinner for they are going to Drummondville after her milk & a bed of onions & came back bt George {Welsteads?} & got 6 bushels of apples Will & Arthur are away making cider I carried 11 pails of water from the creek & churned & guarded the cows on the yard. got a lot of the wood in the barn, done the night chores befor they came home wind east but not so cold as yesterday.
Wed 21 cold east wind we drawed two barrels of water then Marjorie went to guard the cows. I just got a pot of mush on no dishes or separater washed or sweeping done as Mrs. McCredie came for dinner, just befor she went Jane Buyers came Lilly Sebbet brouight her. Fannie away collecting. Will & Arthur over for Marl Heximers Bella came back from Beasleys.
