18th 1865

Mr James Cameron Island Augst

Put in 1 1/2 Loads of Pease Put in 7 coils on the upper side put 5 on the east side put the Wheat up east side the cows Demolished the corn coming in in the night

19th A Fortunate Day Finished cutting the Pease put them in put in 2 or 3 coils of hay on east side Lashey came with his Tackling Henery from Montreal to Day awful Dry time with warm Weather

20th Sunday Great smoke from the West 9 Pannels of our Fence on the Pitt Point Burnt next the River High Wind Rain in the Evening and at night Great Fires out some Place Hunting commences in Lower Canada for Ducks

21st Monday Lashey Fishing Pickerel got 17 crofsed to the other side Mowing some of the Oats its not Ripe but it is impossible to Keep the cattle out of it and it is all Tramped cutting Hay some on the Lower Point Fixing som Tobacco the Green Leaf Packed it in a Match Box and Put 2 or 3 Layers of sugar on it and then Prefsed it with a Heavy weight Christie here gave him a Ring for his scythe took Dinner here Grinding his scythe impossible to catch the Mare to night Thunder to Day

22nd cut the corn stalks Mowing some Pealing apples cut a coil of Marsh Hay at the River side very unwell though knocking around for all that Kingston went Down to Day First Trip since she got smasshed

23rd cutting some hay few Drops of Rain the Alma went up

24th cutting and Gathering Hay Lashey crofsed took his Barrel here gathered a coils of Oats

25th a Fortunate Day put in15 coils of hay on the east side got an axehelve from the Indian Lashey went to Traps put a clout on the small Ram put in some corn stalks
