18th 1865
Mr James Cameron Island Augst
Put in 1 1/2 Loads of Pease Put in 7 coils on the upper side put 5 on the east side put the Wheat up east side the cows Demolished the corn coming in in the night
19th A Fortunate Day Finished cutting the Pease put them in put in 2 or 3 coils of hay on east side Lashey came with his Tackling Henery from Montreal to Day awful Dry time with warm Weather
20th Sunday Great smoke from the West 9 Pannels of our Fence on the Pitt Point Burnt next the River High Wind Rain in the Evening and at night Great Fires out some Place Hunting commences in Lower Canada for Ducks
21st Monday Lashey Fishing Pickerel got 17 crofsed to the other side Mowing some of the Oats its not Ripe but it is impossible to Keep the cattle out of it and it is all Tramped cutting Hay some on the Lower Point Fixing som Tobacco the Green Leaf Packed it in a Match Box and Put 2 or 3 Layers of sugar on it and then Prefsed it with a Heavy weight Christie here gave him a Ring for his scythe took Dinner here Grinding his scythe impossible to catch the Mare to night Thunder to Day
22nd cut the corn stalks Mowing some Pealing apples cut a coil of Marsh Hay at the River side very unwell though knocking around for all that Kingston went Down to Day First Trip since she got smasshed
23rd cutting some hay few Drops of Rain the Alma went up
24th cutting and Gathering Hay Lashey crofsed took his Barrel here gathered a coils of Oats
25th a Fortunate Day put in15 coils of hay on the east side got an axehelve from the Indian Lashey went to Traps put a clout on the small Ram put in some corn stalks

Cut the Last of the Oats cut a coil of Marsh Hay in the Front Marsh high Wind
27th Sunday Lashey came took 2 cats From Traps here Lashey went to Salmon River Hazelnuts Good Gordon & I on the Pitt Point after some
28th put in 2 small Loads of Oats took in 1 Basket of sweet apples paid the Indians for the axehelve Lashey came some sober
29th cutting some hay on the Lower Point some Marsh hay in Back Marsh Raking the Last of the Oats pulled the Beans Took up 1/2 Bushel of Apples Made a coil of Marsh hay on the Bank of the River South side next the oats
30th Went to Mr Harpers with Pat & Charlie took about 13 Dozen of eggs Bought of Mr Harper Flour 5/- Tea 1/2 lb 1/10 1/2 Thread -/3 Soap 1/- sweetys for Gordon Bought of A Summers 1/4 lb starch Thread -/1 1/2 needles -/2 Treat -/3 Lent my Knife to Long John to cut Tobacco and he did not return it to me Pat went to the Gore heard of Mrs Munroe being very low in the 2nd concefsion the Spartan Sunk stopt in Hamiltons coming home heard Alexander went off Charlie & I came home
31st Went to Salmon River Charlie & I took 3 lb of Wool 4 lb Bag & all stopt at Lukes got a Taste to charge 6 cents or 9 of shinplasters for the wool Mark 450 on the Bag Gave Streeter 1 sheepskin 2/6 to my acc Bl Treat of Beer at Normans paid Loan of a Bottle From D Baker Waiting at the Lines for Spink a Steamer at Laports Island from Odgensburgh with hunters Mrs Semo Derushies Departed this life A Terrible time with smoke and Fires
1st of September Lashey went with the oak stick to Lancaster had to let it Go after taking it as far as the Lighthouse Thrashing and pulling some Beans Lashey making a Paddle
