15  A Fortunate Day very sick with my Breast the ice Made out to the edge of the Rushes a Great Job cutting out my canoe cutting Manure Before the stable Door Put in the small Ram and th young Bull in the barn cold Freezing hard and high Wind

16th I went to Fish eels got 5 cold sun North East Wind not very well water very low Horses out yet cant catch them to put them in Great saving of Feed

17th canoe out of the ice at the shore Tried for eels got none

19th a Fortunate Day I went to Salmon River Left my canoe at Hopkins Pat came Brought 1 Gal Whiskey 1 Bottle of Gin 1 lb Tea stopt at Mrs Morris all night Got my mits very high Wind all night

20th a Fortunate Day came to Hopkins a Job Pare and me putting out the canoe sailed Home Put in Gray one of the Hens Froze put straw over the Potatoes in the cellar no snow on the Ground High Wind east to night Blowed Wicked fixed stones in the canoe after night but the Wind being so high Throwed her on shore Lost my 2 oars stearn seat

21st First Day of Winter and a cold stormy Day it is putting the Water and ice out of the canoe and a Job it was Livinia sick

22nd a Fortunate Day ice making very well took the Canoe to the Head of the Island Pat and I anchor ice making very well Froze acrofs to the Little Island North Side

23rd cold ice made on the Rush Bed to the Kitt Kitt Island Killed the Bull put 2 shots in But the first shot Killed him without a Groan Left the meat int he Barn till we could cut it up very cold Work a Fortunate Day

24th Sunday Christmas eve took Gray to the Head of the Island to Draw up the canoe Thawing to Day snowing Blowing ice all gone away mostly

25th Christimas Day cutting the meat and salting it

26th went to Mr Harpers To 1/2 Gal Whiskey 2/6 Tape 7 1/2 shirting {illegible} 1/2  10 yds cotton 8/9 4 yds Calico 5/2 spools -/4 soap 1/-2 1/2 lb Butter 3/1 castor oil -/7 1/2 2 lb sugar 1/3 Mrs Rose came with us <s>L</s>1..6..10 {illegible} Mr Harper
