April 1891

1 Wednesday I washed a little, got 1 lb tea 40 cts Whitford's wife came with about 4 pails of very thin syrup I was all evening boiling it. Far came home this evening 40
2 Womens Meeting at Mr. Elders over 16 present My offering 25. I have a bad cold. 25
3 Snowing all day. Pa in bed and did not eat any thing today. I was in bed all afternoon & Far has a cold and sore bones
4 I did not get up until afternoon. Ran, made the bread today and it is fine We got 2 lb butter 36 cts rice 15 cts mustard 10 cod fish 50 cts. Aunt got 1 doz herring 25. Pa & Far in bed all day. 61
5 I did not get up to breakfast
6 Murdy went to get the "census" began at Farquhersons done the N.S. of R.R. to Bowens
7 Murdy did the S.S. of R.R. to McGillivrays
8 There was frost every night this week. We got sugar from Whitford. Pa & Far are some better. I am doing the work but am not very lively. I did not go to prayer meeting
9 Got some syrup. will have to boil it
10 got some more syrup Jimie is boiling it Mrs Dan Angus Grant was buried today she died after 1/2 hours illness.
11 I baked in oven and boiled some syrup
12 I was out to church. Jimie caught fish last night and Friday night
13 Willie paid $400 his month rent. Got 1 lb tea 45 cts
14 Sent McKillops hat to Lancaster by W. Slack Got J. Monro's (Cornwall) receipt for 14 dollars that we owed on the flour
