Saturday 31st. Mild and thawing with very strong wind from the South west. Robert getting sap boughs to the trees. Father and Phil after logs for firewood. Fred thrashing. Me after hoop stuff and fixing barrels 84 clout nails of John Goble.
Sunday 1st of April Cold wind off the lake.
Monday 2nd. Cold but clear with wind from the north. Me and Phil went to Turners in the morning. Brought home Timothy Seed as before mentioned and two bushels of potatoes for which Turner is either to have the same measure in return or 2 shillings per bushel. Robert after sap boughs. Father and Fred chopping over on J. Gobles lot. Iden and me measuring lines and measured up the chopping. I did for him. Slashing 2 acres 3 of rods? Chopping 1 a. 1 rod? 20 chains. underbrushing 1 a. 3 r. 1 rod.
Thursday 3rd. Cold, sunshiny. Father and Phil went to Saw mill came back empty. Fred chopping and Father and Phil in the afternoon. Robert after ? buckets washing spouts. Coopering made one handle.
Wednesday4th. Morning been mild and thawing during the day. Father, Robert, Fred and chopping over in ?. Fixed an axe handle carried buckets for trees. Sapping trees in the afternoon. Balerneed arrived with John Goble the result will appear in a day or two.
