A Meeting of the Directors of the Chesley Public Buildings Co. held in our Library after tea. Mr. Bell & Charlie present. Duncan spent the evening here as usual. Wrote names in s.s. registers.

Saturday Jan. 8th.

Did some notes on 'League of Nations" for Charles. He promised them to Baptist Minister for their young people who are having a debate on the Subject: Went down town after dinner for Cheese to make Sandwiches for s.s. Tea for Starving China (proceeds $35) Helped make sandwiches. Hemstitch 2 curtains for Reception Room in Walkerton Hospital (furnished originally by Chesley & Mrs. Hal Norman Robertson wrote asking me to collect Money & get the curtains). Duncan was here in the afternoon drawing pictures for "The Chronicles of the Sea Gull. Left him here when I went up to wish Mother many happy Returns of the Day. " Took her "Black Bartlemys'
