and had to be carried upstairs. When we came home at 6 o'clock (or shortly after) the snow was up over the tops of my boots. Mrs. Halliday telephoned late in the evening that girls had $100 as result of tagging. Slept inside Slept inside.

January 18 (Sunday)

Stormed all night and still storming. They have decided to abandon the snow plough in the sidewalks as one horse cannnot pull it through. Used two teams in the road snow plough. Charles shovelled walk out to road and to back veranda. We went to church which was held in the School room. About 100 there. At half past ten in the morning Saturday's afternoon train reached Chesley. As the Bible classes were called off Charles stayed home from church school and had a needed rest. I went and after I came home spent an hour shovelling out the walks for (the second time it was done to-day.) Charles went to church. I stayed home. 91 in church school. When Charles left for church he said the walk was as bad as ever. Some storm.
