Current Page Transcription [edit] [history]

1920 January 29. (Thursday)

Was lazy this Morning as Charles away & did not get up until 8.30. Spent an hour or so mending my corsets and putting a new lace in them. Practised an hour & three quarters. Went down for the Mail. Much Milder to-day. Wrote to Mrs. Norman Robertson & Miss Small. Charles got home on late train 1½ hrs. late. Colder again.

January 30 (Friday)

Cold - very cold. Went down town to try on my dress. practised 1 3/4 hours. Read "The Clash". Went to tea at Mrs. Bell's. Quite a large tea. The house is certainly fine & big; especially upstairs. Fine big hall. Florence Leslie and Jean (who seemed much better to-day) served the supper. Came home and Charles and I went down to Leitch's to see Mrs. Leitch. Her Mother died at half past two this Morning. Coldest night yet. Still sleeping inside.

January 31. (Saturday)

Went down to Leitch's this morning as I promised. Mrs. Clarke looked as though peacefully sleeping. I would rather remember her so than as she looked
