Thursday July 8th.
Beautiful day. Charles told me in the Morning that he had got quite a jolt in a letter he received from Dr. McLaughlin of Hamilton who said that the X ray plate of his ankle showed signs of hardening of the arteries. Of course one hopes he will prove to be wrong. I have had it following me as a shadow all day. Dr. Rannie is away this week for a holiday. Went down for meat. Came home, then went to Mrs. Caldwell's and went to enquire how Miss Annie Milne got home. She had a good night. Called at the Manse to give Mr. Tuer the Forward Movement report. Did some weeding in the seed beds.
