Sunday July 31st.
Very windy & quite cool. Went for my swim but the water was too rough to swim much. Charlie arrived about 11 o'clock with Alice Jean & Maude Steven. Great excitement unpacking Harold Wilson package etc. Went to church in the afternoon. Mr. Hardy preached & Misses Ruth Chambers & Lilian Clarke sang solos. After dinner called on Daveys & Biehns.
Monday Aug. 1st.
Swam - water cool. Clare did not go in. Called at Charlie's cottage. Isabel and I walked up to the P.O. to post a letter. Went up in the afternoon for the m Being civic holiday in Chesley Mr. Caldwell brought his family up in the afternoon. The Caldwells, Allie, Grace, Alice Jean, Charlie, Maude, Laura L., Bud & Jack went for a run out in the Lake and had their picnic at the Castle. Isabel and I went for the Mail. Had a fire
