W. 1st. Split for C.F.S. 118. George Roepple a tree of cedar wood. Marie and I went to tea meeting in Port Elgin.
Th. 2nd. Split for C.F.S. 109 and for Robert 7. At a party at Idens.
F. 3rd. Split for C.F.S. 155, Lent him Nine and a half Dolrs. to pay his Taxes.
S. 5th Chopping down. Posted a letter to Uncle Fred Parker.
M. 6th. Robert and me chopping down. Twenty rails to C.F.S.
T. 7th. Pair of shoes for Marie from Uncle Iden N.P.
W. 8th. Sawing and chopping. 141/2 of fat of C.F.S.
Th. 9th. Sawing grinding etc.
F. 10th. Split 141 for C.F.S.
S. 11th. Split for C.F.S. 189
M. 13th. Split for C F S. 136. which makes a Total of 2583.
T. 14th. Sawing and cutting timber. Made a new maul.
W. 15th. Bought Louis' Pork tub of C F S. for Four Dolrs. the price to come of the pay for rail splitting. Louis and Caroline left last night for Buffalo. MacLachlin agreed to have a plow of the Queen of the west pattern ready for me this month. P. Iden for shoes 75 cts.
Th. 16th. Letting of the water in front of the house.
F. 17th. Hauling out Barn timber.
S. 18th. Do Do. Omitted on 15th sold three trees to James Hendry for sap troughs for 75 cts.
M. 20th. Got out 128 rails for the Gore off Roberts lot. Omitted on Saturday $2.75 received of C F S. as part payment of the money I lent him. Also lent Robert $2.75 to pay Tax 2.21 ct. Went to mill with a grist. Settled Mothers A/C with Mr Corey for butter her received last fall he paid me in full. Bought of Henry Willimere 7 Bushls. of Oats at 371/2 cts per Bushl. paid him in full $2.651/2 cts.
W. 22nd. Bought and paid John Zant for Chaff knife and face iron, One Dolr. Borrowed one Dolr. of mother
Th. 23rd. Making chaff box, planted Tobacco seed.
F. 24th, Working on my chaff box etc.
S. 25th. Finished my chaff box. Mary wrote to Lizzie.
M. 27th. Bought a scythe stone 8 cents. C F S paid me four Dolrs. of that which he borrowed. Emptying the water out of cellar.
