Apil 8th. gathering brush and digging out old trees {mev? may refer to someone} finished grafting 760 grafts at 54 each $38.60. weather very cold + cloudy. Owen Sound wins junior 61 Canadian Hockey and Varsity {illegible}. Champions of Canada

April 9th. Cool north winds {someones name? Moe letter-oulle} find my big drain blocked + smashed the water running on top of the ground.

April 10th. Sunday {low?} + cold

Right Page: April 11th, Tried to fix drain but no results. too much water. after {dinner?} we watered hot beds.

April 12th . Prunning sweet {eleves?} last years budding a failure very few grew. dug 20 more dead trees out makes abour 50 {in?} all.

April 13th. {finished?} prunning and gathering up {fear?} brush {short line drawn here} weather fair + cool.

April 14th. went to Hamilton this morning bought a horse . 9 years off 142.50 unloading {east?} of manure {tued?} new horse drawiny {could be either a g or a y} manure - draws good but seems very slow
