MAY MONDAY 15 1876

Go to Tannery at 6. find all right. Get leather ready to ship to McArthur tomorrow F Currie goes to Boat to meet Chittendens, they dont come. I remain at Tannery all day, dont go to dinner.

Pay Porter in full to day his balance due on 1st May.

MAY TUESDAY 16 1876

Go to Tannery at 645. Dolan hauls Lea 10 Rolls to Cars & brings back Bbl Chemicals Pay Freight on same $469 Give Geddes $5 Bill he hasn't change & says he will send me balance. Get letter from NC 248 George St. also from A Beamer about Insurance. Ship McA 50 Hides 1848#, over 8 # over ½ Buy 1 Box Herrings from Jim Miller & pay him 50 cts. Steve Sherwood for 2 Bolts 50 cts. Morrison puts them in. F Currie goes to Boat & meets Mrs Chittenden & Lawyer & drives them home. Get shoes from Hewitt today.
