This is a family on the move.  Tory’s brothers, Sam and Ezra, leave for California and the family house is literally moved to a new location too.  Meanwhile Tory travels with the Van Allen boys to socials and Methodist conventions and camp meetings.  In October she travels to Michigan to care for her brother John’s children during his wife’s confinement.  While there, Tory falls downstairs with the newborn in her arms!  Find out more about Tory in her mother’s transcribed diary for that year.
