January, 1928 4 Wednesday. Cold & stormy Walter killed 2 pigs at Ges. Schneider's today. Vernon helped in Reist's {bush?} this afternoon. Ella spent the p.m at Enoch's 5 Thursday. Rain and cold Walter shipped hogs at Elmira. Vernon helped at Reist's this afternoon. 6 Friday. Mild spring like day. We butchered 2 pigs here today one for Mr. Vice and one for Floyd Moyer. Egra & Bert were here all day. Mr. & Mrs. Silas Bauman of Lisbon, Ohio came here after tea and were here for the night. 7 Saturday Mild and dreary. Silas & Esther left around 10 a.m. Walter & Vernon went to Elmira this afternoon. 8 Sunday. Mild and dreary. We went to church & S. School this p.m. Our company for tea - Mr. & Mrs. Noah Miller, Esther, Ruth, Margaret and {Dupha?} Miller.
