January, 1928 9 Monday. Fair and mild. Ella did her washing and ironing. Walter went to the Elmira Monthly Fair and took some fat pigs over to Floradale for {Seranus?} Martin this afternoon. Vernon helped in Reist's {bush?} this p.m. 10 Tuesday. Cloudy & rain. We butchered a pig here today for {name?} Snyder and they also dressed 3 cattle here today. Callers were - Eph. Snyder, Enoch & Irvin Schneider,Otto {Schmehl?} & Mr. Hidebeemer}, Lincoln Weaver & Henry Reist and 2 other guys Ella wnet to Flordale this p.m. with Irvin, Eva & Mrs. Schneider. 11 Wednesday. Cloudy & rain. Snowflurries We butchered 2 pigs here today for Lincoln Weaver and 1 pig for Mr. Kennedy. Callers were - Enoch & Irvin Schneider and David Hoffer. 12 Thursday. Dull. Snowflurries. Walter shipped hogs at Elmira and went down to Hilliard's and stayed for the night Vernon hlped in Reist's {bush?} this p.m.
