January, 1928 13 Friday. Cloudy & drizzly. Walter came home this afternooon. He had his dinner at Isaac Holle's in {Conestoga?}. Vernon helped in Reist's bish this p.m. 14 Saturday. Mild & drizzly. We butchered a pig here today for David Hoffer. 15 Sunday. Beautiful, clear, cold winter's day. We went to church for S. School this morning. Charles Miller was here for awhile this afternoon. We went down to Harvey Schmidt's for supper and the evening. Hannah had a very good chicken roast with all the trimmings. 16 Monday. Changeable. We butchered 2 pigs today for Grandpa Maurer. Grandpa, Grandma & Egra were here for dinner & supper. Mr. & Mrs. Augus Weber, Mr. & Mrs. Norman Snider and Charles Miller spent the evening here and the mew sang quartettes until nearly 2 a.m.
