February, 1928 1 Wednesday. Snowed and stormed all day. Walter was butchering at Leon Wagner's. Ella was canning apples. Vernon did the chores and called at Otto Miller's this afternoon. 2 Thursday. Fair. Candlemas Day. The bear saw his shadow today. Walter shipped hogs at Elmira and Harold Mitz came up with him. 3 Friday. Lovely day. Walter & Earl Miller went up to Alma and Earl was here for dinner. Vernon and Harvey Reist were out hunting pick-rabbits tonight and got one. 4 Saturday. Lovely, clear & cold. Ella's birthday. She is 37 years old and will soon be as old as the hills We went to church & S. School this p.m. Our company for tea - Mr. & Mrs. Ezra Maurer Mr. Aubrey Lawson and Mr. {Char.?} Miller and Harold Metz
