February, 1928 20 Monday. Very cold & stormy. Vernon has a very sore throat and spent the day in bed. No mail today. 21 Tuesday. Cold & somewhat stormy Ella did her washing today. Israel Shoemaker called on Walter. 22 Wednesday Fair. Turning milder. Walter went to Burnetts sale near Alma this afternoon. Vernon isn't much better than yesterday. 23 Thursday. Mild and rained Turned cold and stormy towards night. Walter shipped hogs at Elmira although he felt sick and miserable Vernon got up at noon and feels somewhat better. 24 Friday. Cold and very stormy. Harvey Reist came over to do the chores and was here for supper. Walter is sick in bed now. Dr. Jim {name?} was here this afternoon
