April, 1928. 19 Thursday. Rained this morning Fierce gale blowing all dale. Walter shipped hogs at Elmira. Otto & Norman Miller spent the evening here. 20 Friday. Fair. Clear & cold. Walter cleaned seed oats today and Vernon boiled syrup. Ella finished cleaning the upstairs today. 21 Saturday. Cold east wind. Heavy snowfall this afternoon. Vernon was boiling the last batchin the bush this a.m. This afternoon he went to Elmira with Earl Miller to get a hair cut. Walter was cleaning seed grain 22 Sunday. Grey, dreary day. Walter & Ella went to Conference at Waterloo today. Bishop Dunlap of Cleveland, Ohio preached in the morning. We had our dinner at H.E.Ratz's. In the afternoon Dr. Schlegel of Harrisburg, Pa. gave a very good address. We went up to Grandpa Krauter's for tea. Vernon went to {Woolrich?} S.School this morning and over to Otto Miller's for dinner.
