May, 1928. 1 Tuesday. Fair and windy. Walter & Vernon finished the manure Ella dug a piece in the garden and sowed sweet peas and larkspurs 2 Wednesday. Lovely warm day. Rachel was here all day and we papered the two front rooms. Vernon was cultivating in the field beside the lane this afternoon. 3 Thursday. Fine and warm. Walter shipped hogs this morning and was sowing grain this afternoon Vernon was cultivating. Ella cleaned the little parlor. 4 Friday. Hot day. Walter was sowing grain and Vernon was harrowing and cultivating. Ella cleaned the dining room, varnished the linoleum and planted the dahlia roots. Walter went down to {Joe?} Gingrich's and brought home the little chicks.
