May, 1928 17 Thursday. Heavy rain last night. Dull drizzly day. Walter shipped hogs at Elmira. Rachel & Ella papered the bedroom this afternoon and Sim & Rachel were here for supper. Vernon plowed this afternoon. 18 Friday. Dull misty morn Cleared up this pm. Dan Martin and Milton {Glebe?} were here all day and put the metal ceiling up in the kitchen. Mr. & Mrs. Wesley Miller spent the evening here. 19 Saturday. Dull & showery. The mew plowed this forenoon. This afternoon Walter took a load of grist to Floradale. Vernon took a cow down to Herman Ziegler's and had his supper at Grandpa Maurer's Charles Hilliard came up for some potatoes and was here for tea
