Feb 24th 1910 Sent a P.C. to Ross Warren 25 cts for beans 10 cts for pepper 5 cts for bread 20 cts for 4 ls of flax seed meal I sent an order to Jas. Hutcheon took mare up let Dick Johnson see her was a nice day but cold
25th I polticed mare's leg alday drawed $500 out of bank this fore-noon 20 cts a hair cut 25 cts for 2 lbs of prunes 5 cts for bread I called on Mrs Jos. Courtney this after-noon Geo. Sly paid me the $1500 they owed me
26 got this book pencil & pencil holder 35 cts 26th I called a Wm Edwards this fore noon got a number of names called on Johanna Naylon & Miss O'Heron seen Allen Hunter & Johnny McCalpin they all agreed to give me a chance on mons 25 cts for corn meal gave Mary $2.31 cts was a nice day but turned very windy this eve & to-night have left to-night $16.75 cts.
27th It rained nearly alday I went to S.S. 5 cts to church in eve 15 cts was quite warm gave Mary 5 cts
28th I helped Mary wash in fore-noon got an Ironing board made at Mr Beatys 15 cts was a nice day Mr Joseph Courtney ordered a $4000 job
Mar 1st I sharpened some tools to-day ready to temper at Seal Bros shop wrote to Mat Johnson & Ham Coon was a nice warm day 40 cts for three files gave Mary 95 cts have left $1500
and to church in eve was a lovely day sent one order to V.M.Co
3rd got out a tracing job No 6488 sent it to Ross Warren
4th I got some names from Mr. Cole spent 10 cts was a nice day went to church in eve to hear Mr Fitz Gerald lent Mr Jackson a P.O. $12.00 this morn he is to pay it Monday
5th Jim & Patience came in afternoon Jim & U went up for some sand to river 20 cts for strap for harness 35 cts for oysters 25 cts for oranges Patience & I went to show 10 cts 56 cts for two pounds of butter spent 20 cts was a nice day Billy & Almeda were down in eve
6th stayed around house alday Jim & Patience went home about half past two O'clock was a nice day but was a hard Lightening & Thunder rain storm to-night our boy was born about half past nine to night
7th I wrote to Annie Moulton this morn sent it out with Mr Sherby gave him 14 cts have left & got a bottle of castor oil 15 cts have left at en O'Clock 85 cts. 25 cts for rice 25 cts for oranges was a little stormy with snow & rain got a letter from Mat Johnson with an express order for $4.15
8th 5 cts for Brasick acid I helped Jack L Pol for about 6 1/2 hrs was a cold windy day out cards to Mrs B Moulton WG. Anglin

10th got ready for country left about ten O'Clock drove out to Wm Pierces got Ins. for monument on to Mrs John Wilson's had dinner 35 cts out to Hunter Boys they agreed to see me again on to Ross G. He & I went to Morton after tea got Ins. for Dean Mon spent 20 cts was a nice day but cloudy by times Mr G. went in to our place to day & Geo was up & stayed alnight
11th I came to Morton sold Ernie Rontree a $40 Job & Mrs Willson $7500 job had dinner at Andys on to Lyndhurst called on Will Webster on to Jims had tea Mother came in with me we got in about eight was a nice day
12th M went home this morn I cleaned up shop 35 cts for tea 50 cts for butter 25 cts for Cascara 25 cts for cuttle fish bone 4 cts for Garanarabac have left to-night $2.01 cts was a nice day I started ins on Dean jobs
13th I went to sunday school 10 cts to church in eve 30 cts it snowed a lot to night
14th I wrote to Mary & to Mrs Ellen Connor Ross G came in this after-noon stayed for tea
25 cts for soap I drove mare a while in eve was a cold day & very good sleighing
14th I wrote to Geo. this morn markers Ins on Wills job drawed $500 out of bank gave Mary 200 got ready hitched on buggy left near three came out to Moultons had tea on to Jim's stayed over night was a nice day spent 10 cts was good sleighing to day
15th I hitched on Jims cutter drove down near Jas. Townsend Met him came back to Rob. Gambles in to Aunt Ann's a few minutes had dinner at Rob's came back down to Jim's then to Elgin spent 10 cts stayed alnight was a nice day 10 cts for shave
17th paid Pat $125 started for Newboro met Mr Robt Leggett at Nelson Willows came back to Forfar called on Miles young went on out past Chantry to Pat Judge had dinner back to Phillipsville sold Mrs Andy Kirkland a $5000 job came around by Sopers home to Elgin was a cold day. Spent at Chantry 6 cts have left to-night $2.84 cts. stayed at Pats over night was a nice day
18th called on Mr Henry Leggett he promised me job of mon went settled with Teddy $125 went in to Mr M Murray sold a $125.00 job came to Ross G. had dinner Telephoned Jim to meet me in Lyndhurst he got Geo. Roddick buggy we went to Athens had tea at Alf. Scotts I went to Brockville to Hockey match 30 cts for fare on
train 25 cts to go on rink got back to Alf's about twelve was a nice day
19th We got to Jims about one O clock I got to Town before five was a cloudy dy I got a letter from Geo. Churchill with a P.O. Order for $900 Mrs Kidd went home this eve I gave her $900 owe her $300 yet I drove cutter Wensday & Thursday & Buggie Friday & Saturday
20th went to church in morn 15 cts to Sunday school 5 cts was a nice day Geo. came up this after-noon got this 20 cts from Minnie to-day
21st Marked name on Dean frame got cheque of Mrs Ellen Connor of $135 cashed 10 cts for Absorbent cotton batten 17 cts for meat 10 cts for nipples 50 cts for butter 1 cts for gum went down paid $47.25 cts Duty on granite $18.95 Duty on Marble $902 freight on marble got Websters team to haul it up 200 paid my dues in C.O.F to May 1st $3.30 went to I.O.O.F Lodge was a lovely day Geo took my Mare went out to Woodburn he went home this eve Mr Morrison rented our house this eve at $400 a month

24th Mr Moulton ordered two posts with the name Lawrence to go on tops of them they are to be $400 I drove down to Mr Baby's she agreed to gave me a chance on

26th I got ready for Kingston but did not go 4 cts for stamps 54 cts for 2 lbs of butter

27th I went to church in morn 15 cts took Mary for drive in after-noon also Dora, Mother to Flosie Cornett Mary & Patience came in in eve was a lovely day
28th I gave Eddy Scott $500 on painting waggon owe him $100 10 cts for a comfort for baby was a nice day Mary & Patience went home after tea gave Mary 5 cts
29th have this morn $14514 cts Mrs Moulton & Mildred were here for dinner Andy & wife came in this fore-noon got 1 1/2 of pork 25 cts not paid Andy & I went
over to Geo. Scott sale in after-noon and to show in eve 10 cts there was a traveller along to-day I gave hime an order for one Monument. was a lovely day.
30th I got ready left about nine came out by Woodburn & Joyceville, Washburn out to Wm Webb's had dinner out to Henry Lyn Mr McNeally's then to Batersea called on Mr Kirkpatrick back to Mrs Sleeths stayed alnight John & I went over called on Mr McClean was a lovely day gave Mary $500 to-day
31st Went up to cemetery for a while sold Nelson Williams a set of posts with name on $800 I am to bring those if I sell a job coming this way
on to Batersea had dinner at Lake house 50 cts on acct by Keelerville to Jones Falls then to Elgin sold Mr Henry Leggett a job stayed at Pats alnight was a lovely day

April 1st started for home calls at Sarahs, Andys, Ross had dinner at R. Moultons got home about four Mr. Gamble & Mildred came in this after-noon I settled with Dr Bird this eve in full $15.00 was a lovely day settled with Pat $1.25 Sarah gave me 25 cts to-day to get some needles for her
2nd I hauled down some boxes this fore-noon got irons on Mr G. buggy fixed 45 cts he & Mildred went home after dinner I went over to Wilsons sale
65 cts for meat to-day this pays for what I got on Tuesday 75 cts for butter Will Denny & wife & Ella Mustard were down this eve
3rd Went to church in Morn & eve 15 cts Rob & Edith were in for Dinner & tea was a lovely day
4th I gave Mary $250 wrote to Mrs W.H. Whaley Newboro sent here some designs & samples cost 12 cts have left at noon $120 settled for some groceries Mary got a few days ago $170 and got some more to-day 64 cts 15 cts for castor oil 15 cts for meat Jim, John Wilson, & Sam Stevenson were here for tea I paid my lodge dues in I.O.O.F up to July 1st $150 was a lovely day 25 cts.
5th I got a letter from Mrs Abram Coon with P.O.Order for $580 paid 13 cts I owed in P.Office 5 cts for stamps cards went one to Mrs Coon & one to Mrs WJ Connor wrote to Sarah gave Eddie Scott $100 pay in full I worked at boxes mostly alday have left at five O'Clock $120.24 cts was a lovely day Went up to Dr Bird got a bottle medicine for baby
6th I gave John Bell $200 for hauling two load of stone for the two stoliker jobs paid my dues in the Encamp of I.O.O.F to N. Gardiner $110 to the first of July 1910 paid John Lee 5 cts I owed him called on Mr Hays Scott in eve got out some tracings to-day was a little rain to-day
7th sent letters to Jas. Hutcheon Mrs WH Whaley a card to Geo one to Pat Judge a letter to Geo Duncan one to Vermont Marble Co with a cheque for $50 cots 15 cts got {illegible} Stamps 10 cts 15 cts for meat
8th Painted some letters got ready for cemetry went down got 4 sacks of cement $2.35 17ct for meat Jack L & I came out put a stoliker foundation in I paid G.T.G for two ton of coal that I got about a month ago $1300 was cool fore-noon but nice afternoon 5cts for turpentine
9th went down got two sacks of cement 90 cts by the return of 3 sacks Jack & I came
out put another Stoliker foundation in this fore-noon I went up street after dinner saw a Mr Powell he agreed to tak another job larger than the one he ordered the first of the week and paid me for it to day $1450 I gave Jack L. $10 13 cts for meat I worked till after ten to-night gave Eddie Scott 15 cts for varnish was a nice day have left to night $54.44 cts
10th Went to church in Morn 15 cts to sunday school in after noon 10 cts & to church in eve was a nice day
11th I got 11 fish 55 cts I fixed the box on lumberwagon got a tire set a letter from Mrs Ellen Connor with cheque for $100 got a cwt of bran $1.20
12th I came on to Newboro had dinner 65 cts then to Westport 10 cts for shave 40 cts for 1 Doz oranges Sarah was at Mary's stayed alnight was a nice day but cold 30 cts fot Mr Pinkerton at Elgin for filing iron on bill
13th came back to Newboro sold a job to W.H. Whaley on to Elgin had dinner 50 cts spent 10 cts then out to Pat Judge had tea and to Lyndhurst got a new hat at Geo Charltons $200 2 lbs of Dates 15 cts got to Jims about Eleven was a nice day
14th came to town this morn got in about ten was a cold morning with a little rain got 5 lbs of butter $1.25 2 lbs of lard 40 cts was a nice after-noon gave Mr. Beatty 25 cts owe
him 15 cts yet
15th wrote to A L Campbell & Mrs Ellen Connor gave Mr. Beatty 10 cts 20 cts for stamps have left at noon $45.05 cts I got
16th Mrs Connor cheque cashed $100 cost 10 cts was taken out of what I have in bank I also drawed $100 out got a Sterling draft for $200 sent it to -day ordered some bases from Q.Q. & Co 10 cts for dates Alf McDonald gave me 5 cts for a fish he got on Monday 34 cts for 2 lbs of arrow root buicuits 25 cts for pork 1 1/2 lbs 5 cts for show gave Jack L $1000 have left to night $34.36. cts.
17th I went to church in morn 15 cts took mother out home this afternoon and took Dora as far as R Moultons It rained nearly all the after noon and to night
18th 20 cts for coal oil 25 cts worth of cream of wheat 50 cts for 2 lbs of {illegible} I called on Willie Wilson this eve I went to Seeleys Bay from Jims tjos ,morn & then to Town called and got Dora & Lizzie Moulton on my way in got in about one O'Clock it rained nearly alday 2 cts for a stamp Lizzie was not here for tea stayed at John Moultons to night
19th I wrote to Ross Warren Simpson Bro's David Waldie John Bradley J.M. Somerville have left at noon $33.24 cts
I sold my run about to Frank Latimer for $85 I am to get it varnished and to get a note for 4 Mo's without interest for it 14 cts for stamps a card to V.M. Co in raind some to-day Lizzie was he for dinner & over night gave Mary 48 cts
20th I wrote to Mary T & Mrs L.N Allyn, Edmonton a card to Q.Q. Co 65 cts for fish I brouht runa up to get varnished is to be $250 went to show in eve 5 cts was a nice day Lizzie went home with Sherby this morn
21st was a lovely day Mr Jas McNeely was up and said he thought Frank Latimer was going to back out but would let me know for sure by Telephone to-night I told hime if they took it now I would have to have Interest on the note if not the rig is mine 5 cts for fish went to a meeting in church to night was a lovely day Mr Morrison paid rent this eve $4.50

24th got 10 cts from Mary went to church in morn with the I.O.O.F 15 cts for gloves 25 cts at church we went to Eng. C. I went in eve 15 cts
25th I drawed $50 out of bank went down paid $62.85 duty Webster hauled 3 loads up for me $1.50 it rained some
this fore noon & last night I gave Jack L. $1.50 I drove around a while this eve.
26th I wrote to Wes Fraser & Co got a letter from W.A. Lewis with a cheque for $715 for lettering of Pierce job which is not done yet I wrote him to-day and Andy Dillon finished up Robeson job was a nice day $2.50 for a case of Porter I drove up to Willow bank Cem.this eve took Gordon White with me spent 5 cts for candy Jack lettered Logs job to-day
27th I have this morn $12.68 cts I wrote to Mary, W.A. Lewis To Mr Nichols Cataqua
28 I went down got 5 sacks of cement not settle for $2.90 Jack L & I went up with MA Arthurs & White foundation gave Mr Sam Clark $200 for a 2 load of stone was a wet day we got home about six
29th I got the Lewis cheque cashed $7.05 cts gave Jack L. 500 $100 for groceries $1.25 for Doll carriage for Dora I took Jack out put an Ins on Thompson job Jack worked untill noon at it I wrote Vermont Marble Co. it rained a little this after-noon canvased some for church this eve
30th I wrote to Mrs John Waldie this morn gave Mary $100 Jack L. $900 Mr Joe Sherby 10 cts for taking parcell out to Seeleys Bay to sent by stage to Andy drawed $1000 out of bank I drove out to New

May 1st Went to Church in morn 25 cts toward choir fund went in eve 15 cts I got 5 cts from Mary and gave her 25 cts we got Hubert christened this after noon it rained some this eve
2nd I went up called on Eber Jackson & at Lindsay's got to Town about nine drawed $7500 out of bank paid $65.95 freight on bases 20 cts for meat Websters team hauled up four 4 1/2 load Geo Gibson helped with 4 load have left to $18.85 cts
3 gave Mary $100
3rd We got started about half past eight to onload car got through a little before six Geo Gibson helped me about 8 hrs to-day and about 3 yesterday I paid him in full to-night $200 Mr Geo. Scott paid his bill in full this eve $8.45 cts it rained some this after-noon
4th I have this morn $24.30 cts I got some marker bases ready 20 cts worth of meat gave Mr beatty 40 cts for turning two malets 30 cts for 10 lbs of putty
5th I got ready for Lansdowne gave Mary $500 to give Patience for butter left about four O'Clock got to Geo. for tea Leonard & Hurbert Earl
were there I went up called on Mr Wm Bell got hurt on my to Geo. 50c ts to doctor got a hair cut & shave to-day 30 cts 20 cts for vaseline
6th came home this after noon with Geo. buggy was a nice day but cool
7th Jack L. went out finished lettering Thompson job I gave Jack L. 700 and Geo. Gibson 500 for 6 hens he is to give me back $140 $100 for groceries, 10 cts for shave 10 cts for soap 17 cts for meal have left to night 8 cts
8th stayed around the house had an early tea went down to Geo. was a cool day
9th I went out to Union with Johnston & Connor's markers then on down to Springfield cemetry with small Powell job had dinner at Mr Jasen Trickey got his buggy went down erected Powell job it is paid for sometime ago on down to Alex Huestons she said they would give me the order for job I am to put it in all complete for $150 had tea there called on Mr Wiltse on my way back then down to Pat Kennedys stayed alnight. I got 200 from Jennie Page to day It rained some this fore noon
10th I cam home this morn got home about one O clock Bill Gibson came up to buy my business I wrote to Mrs David Waldie & Mrs Geo Hall this eve Geo. Gibson paid me the $1.50 he owed me I gave him 8 cts change was a nice day but cold Jack started to work on bases to day we had a settlement to-day found due him $64.73 cts.
11th I sent a card to Wm Bell Bill Gibson was in to see me again he's to be back Friday or Saturday Jack L. gave me 60 cts that he got for boxes have left to-night $4.10 cts was a cool day I wrote to Mrs David Waldie & Mrs Geo Hall.
12th I cleand up shop straightened of stock and figured out what it is worth wrote to M
13th I sent a card to Mrs Alex Hueston 1 cts letter 2 footstones & one marker got ready came down to Alex Huestons after tea stayed alnight was a cold day drove cart
14th I sold them $150 job called at Mrs Pat Donovans at Mr Wiltse got tire set 40 cts sent a card to Wm Gibson 1 cts from Escott 5 cts for peanuts called at Mr Cobeys had dinner at Frank Surplus got home about three O'Clock Rob
G was in I spent 20 cts got 1 lb of pork 17 cts & paid for some we had got 68 cts was a cold day have left to-night $2.59
15th Went to church in morn 15 cts and to S.S. to church in eve 15 cts got 10 cts from Mary was a cool day took Mary & children for drive
16th I went out finished Cornett job and put Marker in filled letters on Thompson job put Logo, McCann, & McDonald footstones in was a nice warm day. spent 2 cts Mr Britton gave me 2 stamp & 1 P.C for change to day
17th Wm Gibson was at shop trying to make a deal for the business to day I went down paid $31.65 cts duty on Granite drawed $50 out of bank to do it Mr Britton gave me 2 stamps & 1 P.C to make right change to-day have left to-night $20.67 cts
18th I got ready for Kingston met Bill Gibson at shop he is to let me know by saturday for sure about deal he went home this morn we both came out on the 8:20 train 95 cts for return ticket to Kingston I called on Mr Simpson had dinner 35 cts called on Mr K.F. Metcalf Miss O'Brien John Cousinau he paid me $300 on the six he owes me got a return ticket to Parham $1.95 left on the 5 O'Clock got out to Mrs Brown's
about 7 sold her 2 nice monuments spent 10 cts here 5 cts in Kingston for banas it was a little showery to-day & turned very cold this eve 5 cts for cigretts wrote a letter to Philip Robison Athens 3 cts.
19th I got a horse & rig drove out to Parham went on out called at Mrs Howes, onto Bertram's & then to Weager back to Parham got Mrs Browns horse shod came back to here place again had dinner drove out to Parham again to Mrs Howes sold a $185 job back to Mrs Browns spent 30 cts paid my bill 200 for horse & rig 1 for board left on the 230 train for Kingston got there about four had tea at John Cousineau 25 cts. came home on the
seven O Clock met Jennie Page at the Junction she came in home with me 35 cts 1/2 doz Oranges & 1/2 Doz. Banas was a nice day.
20th This si the day of King Edward VII funeral I went to church this forenoon was a holiday there was a great parade I took Mar and youngsters fro drive in after noon C. Robeson & I drove out R. Moultons & back after tea we telephoned to his brother from there I owe them 10 cts it started to rain about nin O'Clock got home a little after eleven was a very warm day.
21st I wrote to Mrs DM. Kilborn have this morn 18.58 cts I gave Mary $500 $1.70 for 1 bu of corn & 1 bus of wheat at 20 cts for a fish gave Jack L. $10000 Mr Calvin Robeson paid me in full for headstone $700 I wrote to Wm Gibson this eve 10 cts for stamps I cut base for Robeson job this afternoon it rained a small shower 5 cts to S Army 5 cts to a kid gave Charles Robeson 3 cts
22nd I went to church in morn to S.S. 5 cts to church in eve 15 cts got it from Mary gave her 25 cts was a nice day
23rd wrote cards to VM. Co John Walker sent Mr T.M.Cornett his bill Mrs Gonyou paid me Int on note $2.34 it is due to-day.

24 Calvin & I started out with my mare got away before six my mare would not go up the first hill I brought her back
left her at N Websters got one from Willie Wilson fed it at John Bells it was near eight when we got started this time Calvin took Bell's team we got out to Olivet before eleven it was afte six when I got ready for home Clvin went on over to Sweets did not come in untill next morning it rained some this eve Mr. Pierces is to pay me $116
25th I changed horses with N. Webster this morn & changed back in eve paid John Bell $2.00 for use of team paid T & G in full $$3.42 for cement got C.E.Johnston cheque cashed $100 got a draft for $8700 cost 25 cts sent it to Q.Q.Co and to left me wrote to E.E. 30th Billy Johnson & erected MrArthurs job this fore-noon and we load Bell job this eve rained a lot to-day Jack L tooled one end of Bell base & I put wash on Mary D & {illegible} & I came out to Ross G this eve I gave Rev McAndred $200 toward erection of Joyceville Eng church

4th We started for town after seven got in at ten 5 cts for a loaf of bread 10 cts for shave 10 cts for postcards sent one to a Mrs Graves at Harrowsmith have left at Noon 32.75

5th I went to church in Morn and in eve 20 cts got 11 of this from Mary It rained some this after noon
6th I have this morn $1 spent 78 cts sent {rest of line is illegible} letter to {illegible} I got some footstones ready to-day Jack L. & I drove down to A Mr to see a horse was a nice day
7 Mr Kenny & I riged a think to cut stone under this after-noon we were about three hrs at it the canvas cost $1.92 Jim was here for dinner and Mr John R Bower it rained some to-day I gave Jim 25 cts to get some meat for dinner
8th I sent a card to Ephriam Churchill, Oliver Rowswell Mr Wm Salter paid his bill in full 5.00 40 cts for a broom 5 cts for peanuts
10 cts for shave I went over to church in eve to Advisory meeting
9th I got up early left a little before six for Morton Websters team brought Wills & Roantree jobs and I got the two jobs up to-day Mrs Wills owes me $70.00 Mrs Roantree 40 I had to give M. Steacy 40 cts for stone & 10 cts for a feed of oats traded horses with him gave $500 difference gave Andy $6.50 pay in full for Pierce lettering got done work about six had dinner & tea at Andys stayed alnight at Ross was a nice day gave St{illegible} youngsters 3 cts
10th Mr Gamble came in with me W.J. Moulton tacked a shoe on my horse 20 cts for cakes 25 cts for meal E.A. Scott paid me 4 cts he owed
