September Wednesday 1 1926

Carl brought Melb, margaret Deans, and Jean to Paris were I met them and we all went to hear the "Musical Eckardts" (Swiss Bell Ringers and Entertainers) and the "Strain Sisters" at the Capitol. Interesting programme and a ride home made it an enjoyable evening for me.

Thursday 2

A busy day for me collecting accounts of the month before on the milk route. Helped milk Geo. Telfers cows when we bought some milk from him.

Friday 3

Drove Telfer's Ford Sedan up after milk at Geo Telfers as Mr Telfer had truck away after two new grade Guernseys. Jimmie and I drove truck up to Barkers and then went with Jean and Dan in the Dodge to the Woodstock corn roast up home. Had a great time.

September Saturday 4 1926

Started to rain in the morning and continued nearly all day making it rather disagreeable. Alex came home at night to stay over week-end. Jimmie and I retired early at night as we were tired after the night before.

Sunday 5

{box drawn around entry for this date} Rather a wet day. Ethel Lackey and her sister Jessie and her boy friend were up home so I took Jean up home for tea with me in Dad's Ford. Had a very nice time and left for home early. The night of Sept 5 {and symbol?} 6 will never be forgotten by me as it was on that night that Jean made me the happiest boy on Earth when she promised to be my bride. Talk about a thrilling evening, it sure was one.

Monday 6

Felt great all day even if I was tired when night rolled around but "No Wonder, Why Shouldn't I feel good?" Traded jobs with Jimmie and spent the afternoon between the plough handles for the first time in ten months. Drove down after hens at Vanatter farm after supper.
