Mon 14th.. Oct / 89. I helping S. wash & church etc.

Tues 15th.. I cleaned stove then sitting room. Had Lila over in P.M. just got through cleaning room Then Win Dodson & her Aunt called. Then Gertie came then Philus & they just going home at 9, when rap came to door & who should it be but Dave & Arthur. It Daves birthday he 23 years old. They didn't put horse in for quite a while then Phil & Dave did while they out to barn Gertie & I put cup of water over door with string tied to it. they came back. Dave came in 1st.. then Phil had on plug hat & he hit it & down it came. Then we had refreshments then Dave doing some tricks made a piece penny spin on a cork in a bottle with two forks ballooning it. Gertie & I went out to barn & Alf told us where to look in hay for some thing they bro't up with them so we found a skirt, bussel, & cap which they intended to dress up in so Dave came running out & we made him dress up & go to house. They said they called for Ida & wanted her to dress up in boys clothes & Dave in girls clothes & Arthur would be preacher & marry them, but Ida didn't go with them. While Dave went to house dress up to show Sarah, Gertie & I stayed & was going to take wheel off wagon but couldn't find winch. so we filled cushion with pins & when they came back & let us out they suspected something so they looked & found pins then they hitched up ready to go & when got at house Gertie unwrapped line so Arthur had to get out & fix it We didn't care what we done for mischief on Dave for it his birthday It 11.30 when they went.

Wed 16th.. Oct. "Proceeds of evening on next page! I washed curtains & Alf butchering then I cleaning window

Thur 17th.. I cleaning pantry & all up set when Emma from Hamilton & Wallace's Sarah drove out from H. with baby so hurried & got straightened up & got dinner & they stayed all night. I put up curtains in P.M. They doing some sewing. I went to be early at 9. They sit up laughing.
