August, 1928.

23 Thursday. Fair. East wind. Walter shipped hogs at Elmira and stooked when he got home. Vernon helped to thresh at Enoch Schneider's this afternoon. Walter & Ella went up to see Dr. {name?} tonight.

24 Friday. Rained this morning Cool, cloudy day. The men plowed this afternoon. Mrs. Sam Horst and children {Salone?} and Elsoe spent the afternoon here and were here for tea.

25 Saturday. Lovely day. Walter took a load of grist to Floradale and had his dinner at J.T.Otto's. Vernon went to Elmira with Noah Miller this afternoon. Henry Stange was buried this p.m. Eva Schneider visited Ella this p.m.

26 Sunday. Beautiful day. Walter & Vernon went to church this morning Our company for dinner - Mr. & Mrs. Albert Krauter, Mr. & Mrs. Lincoln Weaver, Williard, Mildred, Doris, Howard & Lila. Walter, Ella & Vernon went down to Grandpa Maurer's for tea
