October, 1928.

26 Friday. Hard frost this morning. Cold. The men plowed this morning and topped turnips this p.m. Ella & Vernon took up some of the dahlia roots today. Jus. Wagner died this morn-ing at Otto Miller's. Walter & Vernon were at Sam. Horst's tonight helping to move the stove into the winter kitchen

27 Saturday. Cold & raw Walter went to Elmira this morning and Vernon got some sand for the chimney. Ella went over to Otto Miller's this morning and helped to do some baking. This afternoon it rained and the men topped turnips for awhile.

28 Sunday. Cold & windy. Showers and snowflurries. We visited Clayton Scheifile's neaar Conestoga today. Ella & Earl Miller wentt down too and Oliver Scheifele's were there. We called at Grandpa Krauter's this morning We had a very enjoyable day.
