Visited the two book stores and bought a book for Alice for a birthday present (birthday to-day) and Mrs. Bell bought a picture book for Donald McKay - the little sick & helpless son of the house. Met Mr. Bell & Mr. Mickle at the Seldon house where we had tea. Then walked up to McKay's with Jean's bag and went on to the West End Methodist Church to the lecture. Saw Dr. Middlebro, Mr. Dyer, Jack Telford, Mr. Black, Davena & Matie Ritchie & Miss Kate Bell in the audience. Mr. Kilbourne Acted as chairman & gave a good address. Mr. Taft gave a most excellent address on "The League of Nations." He is not nearly so stout as he appears in his pictures. He has a splendid smile & a most entrancing little chuckle. He speaks very quietly but convincingly and has a great fund of humor. His Jokes are preceded by the little chuckle. Had a few minutes chat with Miss Kate
