January TURSDAY 20 1876

Don't get up till 8, go to {illegible}. stay at 10 talk to {Jaunsus?} about Laudus note due tomorrow. he won't advance any funds. Says we will take Stock on Feb 1st & {scratched} that I can draw what is coming to me. Call to see {illegible} at Blalles office. he is out, meet Cassels on the {street?}. Have talk with slown on {street?} about Belt-leaf. he says they can't afford to pay 38 $, I talk {Cues?} at 3.15. {PHs?} for home. Donnelly meet me at train. Capt{scratched} Dick waits down with me. m get home at 8. I paid letter from TPH enclosing cheque to Balance last month {illegible} at Tannery for $109.18. I sign a note of accomodation at Toronto fir there for $1500 Hauk date. I borrow $10 from {TPHs?} to {living?} me home.


January FRIDAY 21,1876 Donnelly sents {horse Buggy?} for me to go to {SH?}. He can't go. sends Joe Fates to drive me. I meet Lawler in SH & tell him about note due today. He goes with me to the bank & renews his own note. I pay the {dio?} 8.25$. I then talk with {Leromotie?} about last gold {illegible}. I {illegible} tells me Dr. donnely returned to SH today. Lawuler tells me the {souls?} a lot was adverstised & sold for taxes again the paid time. I get home at 2 p.m. & go to Taunney.
