APRIL MONDAY 17 1876
Take Cars for Toronto this am Take papers for Blake Kerr & Boyd to go on with Answer to Bruk Bill served on me in Chancery. Take the fast train from Hamilton this is 1st train thru run, go down in 105 hours five minutes arrive at 430 P.M., go to Parsons then up to Blakes office & see Fletcher. Ed Scadding & Parsons come down to American this Eve'g & stay till 11. Ticket from Bridge $420, Dinner 50 cts.
Ship McArthur 50 Hides 1532# @ 30 cts.
I pay JWFletcher $2500 on Blake Kerr & Boyds a/c & dont take Rx.
APRIL TUESDAY 18 1876
Go to Blakes office at 10 & have long consultation with JW Fletcher, go into all the Case with him. Buy Shoes for Wife & Baby at Hewitts & pay for them $200, order shoes for myself & dont pay for them, price $600. Meet Elijah Moore tanner from St Thomas at American Parsons have long talk. Go to Theatre with him tonight. Agnes Booth & Junius Brutus Booth, act. { father JB Booth Sr died in 1852 so must be brother, Junius Brutus Booth Jr. & sister-in-law Agnes, of John Wilkes Booth}
