SEPTEMBER FRIDAY 8 1876
Go down to Toyes & Co. get 2 1½ in Elbows, & 1 Brass Stop Cock 1½ in. Get home on Cars at 9½. Meet John Jolley at Rosseaus, with Bob Best go to Bests House have dinner there. I drive up home at 12 M. remain in all day. Meet McArthur at Wharf buy 2 tickets to Buffalo & return. {the following sentence appears to have been either erased or written so faintly as to be illegible}

Go to Tannery at 720. find all right. Porter at work. receive 10 Rolls Light Hides from TP&Co to make into Russett Bridle - also 3 Sheep Skins & Curmer's {round} Knife
