not think of going so Sarah had gone to Bray's for butter. I went with her however across the creek on the scow with Mr. Ingledew's Walter Joyce working it. Sarah came over to find me after tea. We played & sang till after 9. when Mrs. Ingledew & Edith came over to our corner with us. Edith lent me two books to read, "Waverley" & "Lord of the Isles" by Sir W. Scott. She also lent me a lot of music. Got home & all had gone to their bedrooms for night.

Sat. 16th. Maria & Watson went to Hamilton on 2 train and Geo Wight came off it. I met him at doo with big apron & Sat. clothes. All busy & not cleaned up. Nettie & I washed each others heads. Ada Bray came with some music & I could not see her. It looked like rain so she soon left. Filled in part of Half yearly return from my register to-night. Answered Maggie's letter this morning.

Sun. 17th. Went t S.S. & church. A number of strangers there. Good sermon spoilt by money matters after. Subscription taken for minister's salary. Stayed for class. Nice S.S.
