"Bronte" April 1888 ___"___"___"___

Tues 3rd.. Annie C drove down with Annie & brot Lois Jones over from Brays. Spent a quiet day. E.M. & I drove Annie up to 6 train & Lois got on 7 to go to H. When we got back Dave K came but I didn't go in room until 9 Oclock he stayed & talked until 11. Rather interesting to hear him tell about his cousins down in Africa. Got talking about life insurance said he had his life insured for $2.000 got it done in 1885 the time the N.W. battle was flourishing Don't know what I have done or said but Dave hasn't been over since. It is now 16th.. April. Wed, Thur, & Frid, & Sat, all as usual

Sat 7th.. Saw a stranger walking around down concession It was Dave K's Minnie from Guelph she came down to stay over Sunday. He (Dave) had her out for a drive on Sun. night Mandia H. called here for tea she told me my fortune said a fair & Dark gentleman in cups. Said fair one had most money. E.M. drove her home.

Tues 10th.. All as usual can't put down every little item space to{o} small. Wed morning all day I making fine shirt.

Thur 12th.. Ida & I house cleaning S & Alf came down caught us in the midst said they brought Joes boots down to him saw him on road had his moustache cut off:

Frid 13 Ida & I doing kitchen & very tired Annie got letter & photo from Henry Hammond. I went to P.O. met Archie S.

Sat 14th.. I doing baking Mrs Miliam called.

Sun 15th.. Nice day Quite a lot out to church Mr & Mrs Matherman out Edith & Will Mitchell also. Saw Davd over to Hall he not to church. Ida got tea & no singing in parlor, saw Joe B coming so I let him in at hall door. Ate our tea & sat in tonight & talked around coal stove. Then in parlor & singing. Ida & A went to bed & Joe & I talked until 11.30. He quite lovely had so much to say hadn't seen him for 4 weeks. told him a little about Dave but not all.

Mon 16th.. Washing. Alf come & he & E.M. went to Sale. Dave over to see Sam but I didn't see him. Guess he's angry at something. Ida painting floor.

Tues 17. Ida went over to Brays to take a painting lesson so after tea I went over for her it snowed quite a lot in P.M. We got home at 9. I teasing Charlotte about going to get married.

Wed. Very windy Ida went to Williams. Just M.L. & I here so lonesome so I dug some parsnips & took them over to Kennedys Mr K melting bees wax for Mr Bray. Coming home across the orchard met Dave as I was climbing over fence so he came over & we had a talk. Said he had been sick not able to get over it wasn't his old Friend Minnie from Guelph he had out for a drive but another, Minnie Davis his 2nd cousin from Berlin. he asked me if I would go up to Alfs with him on Sun so I said yes after SS. We had a great talk. Said he'd come over & see about it Frid eve

Frid 20th.. Alf down for to take Annie up to go to H with them on Sat Alf & E.M. went shooting & late getting back for tea. M.L. & I doing dishes when Dave came & had on blue wrapper & my hair banged. Then Archie S came. I made fire on in parlor. Dave in kitchen

April talking to San. He wanted to know what ailed me I looked so queer with hair banged. He wanted to know if I had to take cholorform to get them cut. They went at 11 before having some music In violin & organ. I mixed bread at 12 to bake

Sat 21st.. I tryed to finish baking just got it done & had to go to bed at 11 & got up at 1 P.M. & cleaned floor. Ida got home at 2. Went to bed at 8.

Sun. 22nd.. Lovely day. Went to SS. came home after SS. Lottie Bray with me so turned corner & went home back way cause she saw Dave coming. He met me & gave me a drive home & I left my shoes books in house & we started for Sarah's it lovely drive Had quite a talk going up about "Walton {girls?} champion" & chewing tobacco etc. Got there at 4 P.M. girls to church but got soon got home after we got there. Alf & I {mombing?) he kissing me before Dave. Had tea then Alf milked & Dave out to barn with him after got dishes done us singing & talking we came home at 9. Had a lovely drive home moonlight but Annie with us & rather crowded Got home at 10.30 We thanked him for drive & I said I enjoyed it so he said he hoped we would enjoy another before the summer was over if I was willing & I said I didn't know I would see if I was living

Mon 23rd.. I drove Annie to school then washing Annie walked home

Tues 24 I drove her to school saw Dave working making on a fire he said the room felt a little chilly wanted me to get warm too. We walked he came over to buggy said he had stopped chewing tobacco & took winter greens instead. ML & Emily missionary collecting

Wed 25th.. Nice day but {chilly?} I felt awfully tired Had a nap after dinner I writing in this when E.M. brot Dave in house so talked to him till 10. I lent him "Aunt Jane's {?}" to read. He said when ever he wanted to chew he would take out my gem & look at it instead of chewing tobacco. Thot it was time to play croquey soon.

Thur 26th.. Warmest day I fixing {?} & sewing seed in {pans?frames?} & potatoe also Emily Triller called for M.L. to go collecting. I making rug, Went to P.O. met M.L. & talking in front of Dollonds Dave came along but he went on to P.O. & we came home. {Ivy?) Wily up at Bronte & took sick not expected to {cut off}

Frid 27th April. I cleaning yard in A.M. Then working my P.M. it a very warm day. E.M. went to station to meet Maria W coming home I got work done & went to lane got playing mouth organ Dave went past whistling but I too late to see him. I stayed there & he came whistling back so stood talking He walked up lane with me & telling me his dream about me & himself. Folks teasing me when I went in house. Maria bot Isa & I new dress. We sent our money {cut off}

Sat 28th.. Very busy. Girls moved out stove I busy in garden.

Sun 29th.. Nice day A & I walked to SS. saw Dave in the distance not to speak Had a new preacher not very good stayed for class came up road {? cut off} In evening up to concession reading "Beulah" came in at 7 & went to bed. Ida & Annie went to B church. A Brod came home with them. Thot it {? cut off} Sarah & Alf down for dinner & back {cut off}

Mon 30th.. Washing. Mr Lucas here all day his birthday. Emma Bray called I walked to Bronte with her went to see Ivey Wiley she very sick. Went to bed at 8.

Tues. 1st May Rather cold day. M.W. sick & M.L. in Doing housework

Wed 2nd.. May. Gus Skinons birthday. Housecleaning dining room. Dr Rush called to see M.L. toothache. He saw Ida & I white washing. I went to bed at 7.15. Dave came but never knew he came until morning.

& met Ireland girls going to Sarahs so we went back with them & then Theoph & Will Alton came then Josie & Alf & Will Ireland so had quite a house full. Theoph & I playing mouth organ. Then we all got chasing pigs & had such laughing till I got sick. Then told riddles & they went at 6. Will & Theoph waited until girls would get nearly home B4. they went.

Thur 17th.. May Fine day. Hurried & got sink done & got ready & we came down home got here at 8. A.M. I made yeast & iron busy all day. Ida making wrapper & sunbonnet. They went after tea. Pa & Alf fished all day & cot amost two full pe{cut off}.

Frid 18th.. Ida & I out doors tying up grapes then she cleaned parlor & I done hall rather tired at night.

Sat 19th..Maria & Annie trimming straw berries Ida doing baking & I cleaning then after dinner putting down carpet in dining room & busy till 6. Girls said Dave was over Wed. eve when I was away on Street

Sun 20th.. May. Nice day went to SS. E.M. Annie & Maria drove down to Oakville new presbyerian church They not home in time for S.S. Had Mr Husband for dinner. No person here for tea. Ida & I went over to see Annie B. hurried of before any would come & when got there who should be there but Dave he & Dan were to Oakville in P.M. so he there for tea. We had quite a chat then Ida & I went over to Brodericks & Dave went home to feed horse & he came back & Brod & we had a sing & he came home with us. Went at 10.

Mon 21st.. Washing & I planting melon seed when Dave drove over with his horse & buggy & wanted some body to go to Oakville tea-meeting. I went on out to finish planting & he came out & asked me. I didn't care about going but didn't like to refuse when he came over all prepared. So I got ready & went he forgot to get robe so we drove in his place for it. Had a great talk going & coming. The church shed was full of horses so had to go to hotel with horse. We got sit down to tea table & spyed Annie eating at another table. Emma Belyea came & spoke to me & Maggie Gailee also. Had a nice tea. Got a front seat near some of Nuddlewad folks. Charlie Eazard in front of us. Mr & Mrs Waldie behind & Mary Flemming & Andia. Had lots of good speakers. Mr McKay from Parkdale was there & Mr Cochrean from Brantford etc. Got out after 11. It lovely moonlight night We walked up to shed & he made me acquainted with Charlie Ezard. Poor Jane I had to tell him just about my thots were towards him we had a terrible long talk. We sat at lane gate & then at house in buggy It 1 O'clock when got home. Dave said I needn't expect him over very often now.

Tues 22nd.. May 1888. Pa & Ida started for the street Mr Altons going to have there new barn raised. I ironing had a early dinner & E.M. & I drove up to Street got there at 1 O'clock. Ida fixing Sarah's bedroom Gertie over. Such a crowd working at building. Maggie Alton & Kate Blanchard & Miss Dolson & 2 Miss Springer & such a lot of women. Had a good time. Set the tables out side in lawn. Over 100 for tea. So many girls around that only in one anothers road so some of us in parlor singing. Then after tea was over Some boys put swing up in new barn for us girls & we had a splendid swing. Other boys playing base ball. We got home at 10.30. Pa started 1st.. alone.

Wed 23rd..May. Nice day Baking & ironing, churning etc. Archie & Austin Speers came in evening. Had a splendid time then played cards they went at 11.

Thurs 24th.. May Nice day also. Aunt & Uncle came up on 1st..train & walked down. Had dinner early then Sarah Gertie & Wolsley drove down at 1 O'clock Us girls got dressed & Alf & Theophilus came & we all went down fishing. Blandina came in but Emma came on train & just got at house same as boat Such a lot down fishing those that couldn't fish went on boat & had music. Wolsley & Theo & I played & sang. Then when going home Charlotte & Ada B. walked up road in the middle of road like the Army with fishing poles in the air. Saw Dave standing in P.O. We all went to ship yard & fished & fooled around not many fish to be caught. Sarah looking for Alf so Brays & Annie went home & rest of us went over on point. Then came home & had tea the other folks had their tea before us. Us in parlor singing & playing. When George Bumby & Joe B. drove up. Then us all out side shooting rockets & fire crackers. Then got started to play some games & Will Alton & Theo went to Bronte for more crackers, & us all played until they got back. Had a lively time Then Alf & Sarah started home & the Alton boys followed. There were three buggies of them Then Joe & I went in garden to get a boquet & then went for a walk moonlight through orchard & up to concession & barn. I told him about going with Dave to tea-meeting. We had quite a talk. If I wanted to go with Dave he said to go but that there were nicer fellows than Dave but if I wanted to go al right. He wants me to not depend on him entirely but to go with any one I wanted to go with. They went at 10.30 P.M.

Frid 20th.. May I out planting corn Emma Mable & Blondie here Mable drove A to school then she helping me plant. Then Ida & I out tying grape vines we so sleepy & tired could hardly see vines. I going to bed & heard Mable played so went down to have a sing for 15 min & before I got to bed Marlon & Ada Shard came so had to get dressed. It raining & they stayed until 12. Had a good sing & then E.M. got violin & Ada played with him. We lent them rubber boots & rubbers to go home in for they wouldn't stay all night as we asked them to.

Sat 26th.. Annie & Mable went to H & I drove them to station. Busy in garden after dinner then had a bath & washed my head & went to station for Annie saw Mandia & Jenni McGalleshy got of train. Go bed at 10.

Sun 27th.. Got up at 5.30 & milked cow, got 4 calves in 2 {done?} then after done work went to bed again & slept till 11.30. Went to SS. & church not many out Marlon at S.S. again. Walked up road with him after church. After tea I went around garden for walked. Archie S came & Annie went for a drive with him. I went to bed early feeling sorry for {Dave?}

Mon 28, Helped with Washing then out planting corn E.M. & M.W. drove to H.

Tues 29th.. Sam went to H. In garden hoeing & ironing went for Annie.

Wed 30th.. Baking after dinner Gertie Alton & Mrs Hixson children came for strawberry plants so while waiting Ida Gertie & I had 3 games of croquey. I went for Annie.

Thur 31st.. I took Annie down it raining saw Will Giles & talked to him on road & Geo Kennedy & Belyea boys etc. I sorting potatoes then cleaning straw plants. Went for Annie saw Austin Speers talking to Geo K. Sarah & Alf drove down in eve Alf went fishing. Bray girls called & M.L. Annie & I went to teachers meeting in Church. Saw Dave K in P.O. then when come out of church he there walked up with us. Rather friendly. We had one of the surveyors at our place on Wed eve. he a great talker good as a lecture to hear him tell about his surveys. We desided to have a pic-nic for SS. at home in grove on 12 of June

Frid 1st June / 1888. Nice fine day I baking bread & cleaning cellar Edith & Mrs Ingledew came Edith here for tea. Us in garden when Archie came up. Maria making garden. I writing in this & very tired. Ida making M.L. a dress.

Sat 2nd June Busy. M.W. & I sewing cucumber seeds it raining. Jennie Wild had a daughter.

Sun 3rd Nice day Stayed for SS church & class when got home Joe B. sitting in hammock & Austin S & Ida

beside. They here for tea. Had a good sing then Austin went to M.P. {Mount Pleasant} church. Joe & I went over to {?} for a walk. Sarah & Alf came & Girls all over to Brodericks & I went too, Joe & I sitting in hammock together. Archie S & M.L. drove up to Trillers for tea. Alf & I went but Joe stayed & took a ride up with Archie. When came in from the Hammock passed around apples.

Mon 4th.. June 1888.

Tues 5th.. M.L. & M.W. drove up to Alfs Ida & I very busy Blandina came down & Annie Toronto came & Emma Didn't get much done & we had to talk to Annie C. Ida went to Hamilton on boat & M.W. stayed up to Alfs but Alf drove M.L. home & went fishing & stayed here all night.

Wed 6th.. Alf up early & had me up at 5 to get breakfast & so long B4. any others got up for there breakfast. Alf went home about 8 & Annie C with him. We all went down to teachers meeting to see about pic-nic. It very windy day almost a blizzard. Dave came over to church Just as we were coming home & he walked up road with Annie & I. He very cool.

Thur 7th.. Our time taken up getting meals etc.

Frid 8th.. I cleaned cellar way P.M. Annie & I drove to Oakville & brot our Annie with us home. Alf "The." & Mill & Mer. Alton down fishing.

Sat 9th.. Blandina came down B4. dinner & Ida on her. Annie C went home on 7 train & Ida & I took her to train gave Jane B. a ride home saw quite a number at station.

Sun 10th.. June. Went to S.S. Came home after church Mr. Hollinrake preached. Came home & had a new preacher & his driver here for tea. Had a nice rain. I wrote letter to Frank.

Mon 11th.. Baking for pic-nic. I washed print dresses etc. Then bread in P.M. Went for Annie Called in at Bray for butter. Nice cool day for pic-nic. Baking cakes in A.M. S Alf & Gertie down to pic-nic.

Tues 12 June Not many strangers there Blandina came in. I helped with tea table Gertie Alton Geo W. & I went for a row then came back & got Annie, S & Ada B. went for another row. When got back all folks gone home. Ada came in. All tired. Wed 13th.. Didn't do much for so tired

Thur. 14th.. Washing. It my 19th..birthday. A & I went to Bronte went to Mrs McCay. A gave me {? hairpin?}

Frid 15th.. Merton S.S. pic-nic went to Bronte house it very hot Ida & I drove to Oakville & took Annie got our new hats etc. Was eating our supper when Joe B. stept up to window he had been to pic-nic & came down on train. So he & I went out to have a game of croquey then Will Giles came. So then Mill & I & Annie & Joe played sides. Joe & Annie came in house & A played & we talked until 10. Joe & I went to get a drink he asked me to go up with Annie {Sartere?}

Sat 16th..June I very busy hoed garden baked cake & cleaned etc. Boat come in so M.W. Ida & I went down & we went out for a sail to Oakville E.M. & Jane B. too. Will Walton was on boat & he tormenting me all the time. Only stayed in Oakville 20 min It lovely & cool on water. I hurried home & Annie & I walked in to Breckons as we had promised Joe & horses all tired so had to walk. Got there at 8. Met Mrs Shapland & Will King there from Cornfield us all playing croquey. Horace Wrinch & Joe were captains & Annie Mr & Mrs S. on one side & Lottie B & Will King & I on other It long game Annie side won. Weavers in house & had music & refreshments. Dry throat so horse could hardly sing We left at 11.20. Joe drove us home we were asked over to Henery Breckons & he drive from there. It lovely moon light night.

Sun 17th.. Went to S.S. wore white dress come home & undressed & Slept. Had Archie & Mrs {Dorning?} for tea. I went down to gate & reading library book then got organ on stoop & us all singing. A & E.M. (too?}

Mon 18th.. Washing & I so tired couldn't half work.

Tues 19th.. Ida stayed up on Street came home at night A & S not here

Wed 20th.. / 88 Mandia Hixson & Bella McPherson called. Two Marias away to Hixsons. Arthur B came over in eve. & we talked. Wanted one or two of us girls to go up to S.'s on Sun.

Thur 21st.. In cellar cleaning etc. Very hot all week. Dave called through 1st time for a month. asked him over to have game croquey.

Frid 22nd.. Washing blankets etc. Boat came & M .W. went to H. on her. Ida making over dresses. Archie Speers & Ella Ecclestrine & Mrs McCay called.

Sat 23rd.. So busy & hot expected Gus S. up but didn't come after all. I went to Brays for butter & E.M. & A to Oakville M.L. to Bronte. It a little cooler this eve. Gus never came missed the train. Ida lonesome. We down at gate M L & Ella talking Ida & I walked nearly home with Ella. Arthur B & Dave K at corner when we came back so had a little chat we came on home & left them there. It 11 & to bed.

Sun 24th.. Got ready for S.S. & it started to rain so none of us went. I had a good sleep Pa went to church. E.M. drove M.L. & I up to M.P. church. had no organist. Joe B. not there D.V. {Trexas?} preached at Appleby. I wore my fawn nuns veiling for 1st time.

Mon 25th.. I went to B. to tell pickers to come. Some picked in P.M. got Scrotes.

Tues 26th.. Washing & Sewing

Wed 27th.. Very cool. us picking Mrs Aston & Sarah drove themselves down here for dinner. Palermo had their S.S. pic-nic at Bronte. Sarah & Mrs A. went home at 8.30. A & M.L. went to pic-nic. e.m. took Annie to Ganders social at Merton church. M.W. came & brot Blondie. Ida did not

come to go & didn't want me to go, cause she would be alone then M.W. came home & I hadn't time to get ready. Annie had a good time she said with Joe B.

Thur 28th.. June. I ironing all day It a very rainy day from East.

Frid 29th.. Cleared up a little I went to B to do shoping we picked after dinner.

Sat 30th.. June Picking till 11. Then very busy {washing?} baking & cleaning. Annie C from G. came in even train. very tired writing in this.

July 1st.. Sun Beautiful day. lot out to Church. Bray girls had 2 gents out from St George. Choir full Ella in choir. Marlon & Dick S. out. I walked up road with Marlon he couldn't come in. Just had Annie C. for tea. We were Just agoing to see Jennie Gillespe & baby when Theo. Acton & Wolsley & S. & Alf come. We out to patch then went in & had berries with cream etc. then had a good sing & they went home at 10.

Mon 2nd.. Lovely cool day. Hurried & got work done & Pa drove to station & brot G.A. & Eliz. Mr & Mrs Kent & Adrienna & her two boys. Had a pleasant time. The older folks went down fishing & had a boat ride after dinner. S & Alf came down. Ida & I got tea & they all went home on to train & S Ida A & I went to station to see them off. Pa drove. Saw E.W. his wife & two children , us all got weighed S only 117 I 128. Saw Edith M. & had a good talk. When got back Austin S here & had a game of croquey. he went at 11.

Tues 3rd.. E.M. rather cross as I late getting out to pick We had the busiest yet. I pick a crate, I so tired at night

Wed 4th.. Up early Every body to get off to Sarahs. Adrienna her two boys M.W. & M.L. Pa blondie & I went took berries to 1st.. train & E.M. went to Toronto. Got up to S. at 8.25. She rather surprised to see us so early. It very hot. We helped her bake & I ironed then after dinner we all got stretched out on floor with clothes off & I had on Alf night shirt & he came in & cot me. We had tea early etc. we home at 6. got bed at 7.

Thur 5th.. Picking again. Adrienna went home on evening train. I went to P.O. & posted letter to Frank. Marlon here when got back. a Ida & I & Marlon had a game of croquey Then us singing Mrs Mc le & Ella called about 10. P.M. Got M.L. up & she went out & talked to them Ida & I out too. Then us getting some straw berries cleaned for Marlon & he came out in Kitchen & waited. So we set table & had raspberry vinegar & berries

Frid 6th.. Us busy washing baking etc. & cleaning. Ella came up then Mr & Mrs Jim James from Milton came & Ella took our picture out on lawn. Jamese here for tea. Then Archie S came & we had a game of croquey. He brot a {g?} down for us. I to bed at 10.

Sat 7th.. I started to pick before pickers come went all over the patch B4. dinner. Then baking after dinner. Mr Hammond from Buffalo came of noon train to stay over Sunday. Busy till 5. got dressed & went in parlor {?} M.L. & I went over to Kennedys to get some

peas. Saw Dave. he took us across road to Mr K & then we came back & went & picked peas. Dave came back when got peas picked & carried basket into house. We looking at garden & sat down on ground verandia & talk. Then Dave came home with us & carried basket & shelled peas. he sat down & thot was going to have a good talk when the girls all asked him to come in & then he went. I was dissapointed. We all made a bee & shelled peas B4. going to bed.

Sun 8th.. July. Nice day. I had bkft at 10. Mt H. went to S.S. with us. Marlon there. Not many to church. In choir. Walked up road with Marlon & Mr H. Marlon went home. Archie cot up to us at gate & came in for tea. Mr H. & Stewart here also for tea. Archie & I out walking and in garden had a fine talk. Ida & A & Mr H went to lake when got back had a splendid sing & to bed at 10.30.

Mon 9th.. S & Alf drove down when we were eating bkft. they anxious to see Mr H. Mr H. helped me churn & Alf did also. Then us out picking berries & corn.Annie & Mr H went fishing also Pa & Alf went too. Mrs. Gillespy & Bella McPherson called had baby too. Mr H. went home on 6 train. A took him to station. Alf went home & took Ida & left S. down to do her fruit.

Tues 10th.. July Picking here shipped one crate the last of season

Wed 11th.. Washing & I baking & S picking goose berries to do up M.L. went to P.O. & She came up with Ella us in parlor cleaning Berries It very windy & had a heavy shower of rain Ella was up a little while.

Thur 12th.. S ironing. A & Pa went to Oakville & Postville in P.M. S went over to Mrs Brodericks. Marias' & I picking goose berries I got all ready to drive S. home, Whe Alf & Ida drove her. Then Marlon came. Alf took Annie & S home with him. Marlon & I had a game of croquey ourselves. Then had a sing he went at 10.

Frid 13th.. I baking bread etc. shipped 3 baskets of gooseberries. Ida & I went to pick some peas in our field when met Annie & Dan going over with baby.) get up had cramps so bad.. Got up at 11. & made a cake

Sat 14th.. I took sick & {?} helped a little bit. Not able to do much. Boys haying.

Sun 15th.. July 1888. Got up early & M.L. & I walked up to the M.P. S.S. It rather hot day & smokey. We went to Speers' for dinner. Had a nice time Austin Speers showed me their garden. Then Archie drove us down in time for our S.S. Stayed for church. Then Archie drove me home but didn't stay. Had Mr & Mrs Stuart for tea. I went out in garden to read & Joe B. came along. Hadn't been down for 4 weeks. I rather vexed. Had a nice talk when going home. Made arrangements to go to Street.

Mon 16th.. Ida got letter from Floe asking if it would be convenient for her & Gus to come up next Sun. Washing.

Tues 17-Wed 18th.. Cleaning up stairs & busy when Alf & S brot Annie home it raining. I picked 2 baskets straw berries & gave one to Sarah. I wrote letter to Joe

Thur 19th.. July 1888. Miss Stuart here for goose berries I posted letter to Frank. M.L. went to Williams & stayed all night. Annie & M.W. went over in evg. Ida & I went over to pick some peas & left Pa E.M. & Sam to keep house then we went on over to Dan Brays. only there a little while when Joe B. came over to find us. He had Alice (his sister) with him so we all drove over in buggy 4 of us. Joe & I got out at Barn gate & walked over to bery shanty to get basket of peas but Sam had got there B4. us. But we had a talk I told him I sent him a letter to come down on Sun as we expected Floe & Gus up. So he thot he could get horse & we would drive up to Sarah's & Ida & Gus take our horses. When we got to house Josie Alton & Wolsley there. We sat & talked on Varendia it lovely & moonlight. Then had some singing & E.M. played his violin. We {past.?} cake & a drink of (cr?} nectar They went at 11.

Frid 20th.. July busy making point basque. Mandia here in evening

Sat 21str.. Busy preparing for company. I finished basque & got clean up & Ida went to meet Floe & Gus with "folks" After tea. Ida & I & Floe walked over to see Annie Bray & Arthur there nursing baby. Got back at 9. It lovely night.

Sun 22nd.. Had breakfast at 9. It started to rain So we singing & eating chocolate candies. Floe helped me get dinner (Folks went to SS & church but Ida & Gus Floe & I Ida & I put on white dresses & Gus hitched dobbin up to buggy. I wanted Gus Ida & Floe to go to street but they wouldn't so Floe & I went for drive we just got nearly Mr. Morrises when we met Joe so he got in buggy & we went on up to Middle road & down town line & down lakeshore & then home at 5. Folks quite surprized to see Joe with us. We nearly went to street but thot it going to rain so didn't go: It raining after tea. No singing & playing trying to get Ida to play her piece. We all sat up to watch eclipse on moon. I went to sleep once & Gus put his hankerchief on my face & Joe threw a sofa cushion at me & then I woke quickly. Us outdoors looking at moon. Joe & I in hammock for awhile. Then Annie, Floe, Joe & I all in it Had such fun Joe kept us all awake laughing. Had a piece of cherry pie in kitchen B.4 he went at 1.30 when went to bed. Had a great time, made a great noise. Joe fell over chair twice on stoop.

Mon 23rd.. July Gus went home on 1st.. train Ida drove him to station. Us picking berries, Floe helping. Annue & Pa drove to Hamilton. Blandina came in It raining ½ hr. Hurried & got tea then Ida & I drove Floe up to station had to wait for train. Dave K over to meet his pa. Had a chat with him.

Tues 24th.. Pa & Annie got home from Hamilton at 6. E. M. & M.L. & Jane Bray went to Dr Bricks garden party. I wanted to go but couldn't. I started to write letter to Frank but didn't finish it.

Wed 25th.. July M.L. keeping store & P.O. for McCraneys Us baking & busy Mrs Ed Lucas & children here for dinner Gilly & I picked some berries for dinner she telling me all about Curtises girls & fellows. M.W. canning fruit. Artie & Gilly singing for us. Then went over to Mrs Brod. for tea.

Thur 26th.. Picking berries all day

Frid 27th.. Just eating breakfast when Sarah & Alf drove down They helping us pick cherries. Sarah doing her fruit. Busy.

Sat 28th.. picking berries. Then cleaning after dinner. All so tired. Ida & I went to P.O. in evng & bot some meat. Dave K walked home with us to gate & we talked quite a while.

Sun 29th.. Nice day. Had a good sleep went to S.S. very noisy S.S. stayed for church & class. Biggs & Bests out. No stranger for tea. Hurried it over & E.M. got horse for us & Ida & I going to drive when Josie & Philip Alton drove up as we ready to start so went & ate strawberries & then Josie & Annie took our horse & buggy & Philip & Ida & I went for a drive down to lake & then away up the shore & came back. Had splendid drive singing & eating candies. It 9 when got back. Had some more singing & they went after he watered his horse. To bed 10.30.

Mon. 30th.. July. Picking all day. Got 4 cases. M.W. baking & washing & A ironing & we got Sam to churn after tea. All tired.

Tues 21st.. July Baking. Blandina came & left Blondie & Gordon & Annie went on her to New Castle. Alf came to get berries took Gordon home with him.

Wed Aug 1st.. - 1888. Hot & dry day. Picking getting very monotonous nothing fresh to talk about. I feel nearly crazy sometimes. I run down to P.O. in eve. saw Annie Lucas & Lucy Matthews in P.O.

Thur 2nd.. Picking again Ida & I drove over to Wilds to see Jennie in eve. Mrs Hixson very sick. Had a nice time with Jennie & Baby. it 10 when got home.

Frid 3rd.. washing then picking berries in P.M.

Sat 4th.. up early & picking all A.M. Then baking cleaning & churning in P.M. & picking cucumbers didn't get through until 8.30 Ida went down with B. collecting quarterly money Got letter from F.

Sun 5th.. 1999 Nice day. No church at B. M.L. & M.W. & Pa drove up to Palermo church. Sarah & Alf came at 11 Got dinner then I had a sleep I got tea & they went at 6. I went over to grove to read when got back Joe B. here talking to Ida. He went at 10.

Mon 6th Picking. Emily & her pa called. After tea Marias went to see Mrs Firtiles baby it dead & to see Destimmmy L. I "singing".

Tues 7th.. S. & Gertie came in A.M. Helping to pick currants. then we picking for them in P.M. Got letter from Annie.

Wed 8th.. Mrs Joyce came & told us Mrs Kennedy's daughter (Mrs Wright) died in Guelph. She only her a short time ago. We all feel so bad. Saw Dave drive along concession.

1888 & I went up to gate when he came back & I asked if it was true about his sister & he crying so hard could hardly tell me. Poor fellow I feel so sorry for him. He took his mother up to noon train to go to Guelph & George & him going in A.M. E.M. went over after dinner to K. to see if we could do any thing so Ida & I picking in orchard & George K came up rather startled me at first & he asked me if I would do him a favor & I said yes & he handed me a parcel with two collers to wash & then he busted out crying, Ask me not to think strange of him asking me. So I drove them & Ida & I took them over after tea. We had cows all to milk as E.M. & Sam & M.W. all went to Street in P.M. We met Annie & Dan on our way over to K. We sat & talked a long time boys got letter saying their sister died with inflammation on lungs Emma Biggs br'ot over a cross of flowers for Dave & talked with him. They went then Dave showed us pictures & walked home with us. I do feel so sorry for him & his Mother . To bed at 11. Very tired.

Thur 9th.. Aug 1888. I not well but picking a little. Ida washing. Mr Hyram Ribble burried today. E.m. & M.W. went Mr Stuart to preach sermon (Mrs Wright ) or Kennedy) also to be burried at Guelph. Dave & G went up. M.L. went up to Hagersville on Wed. 8th..

Frid 10th.. Aug M.W. & I finished washing. Ironing when Ada Bray & Lois Jones came to spend evening. Ida & I went part of way home with them. I had on E.M.'s coat & hat & Ida also. We laughing & talking all the way over. Geo Kennedy come along Just as we were standing he telling us about his sister's death. Geo or Dave never saw her cause she discolored. Dave came back Frid eve

Sat. 11th.. In evening I went to P.O. " walked down behind me. I waited for mail & Dave came up with me & we went in parlor & I played & sang & Pa called me "hello girl beter stop playing & come & make my bed hasn't been made for two days! Dave had a good laugh at that. I gave Dave the music book & he started to go at 10. I went to door with him & we got talking about his sister he told me what she thought of me. He asked me once more if there was any chance for him to go with me I told him kindly that I was his friend but couldn't be any more to him. He felt very bad & I felt very sorry for him. We talked until clock struck twelve. Then he went.

Sun 12th.. Had Archie & Mr Stewart for tea. I very tired & sleepy. It raining.

Mon 13th.. Picking berries for our own use. Jennie & Mandia called Had Ada Johnson for dinner. E.m. drove Ida & I down to Oakville to meet Annie put our horse in Will Speers. Then went up to park heard political speeches & looking for Annie found her about 4 P.M. with Lottie Clauson & brothers. Had a nice time we all went to {Sways?} for tea. We left Annie there & Ida & I came home. Max called in evening.

Tues 14th.. M.W. drove down for Annie. Then Ida & I went down in evening to get valise.

{page folded over} 16th.. {Amy Pickens?} here for last time. A & I went up to Mrs Shaws It 7 after we got these. Stayed till after 10 then Marlon drove us home it a real nice time playing cards etc.

Frid Aug 17th.. / 88. S & Alf down in A.M. Annie & I drove up to see Alice Breckon in afternoon. We played two games of croquey 3 girls on each side. Mrs B at Oakville came home for tea & Mrs Smith & her son Hubert. We left early & brot Alice down with us & Lottie & Mr Smith drove behind us. When we got home, folks (Ada & Marlon & Bray girls & Miss Pinkley) all starting for the lake for a row. So we hurried up & went. It a lovely night moonlight & so calm on lake. about 15 of us in boat, us singing & Marlon playing mouth organ & {?} also. It nearly 11 when got home. Just passed around apples Joe B couldn't get away as he was thrashing at {Mastermans?}

Sat 18th.. M.W. & Ida went down to Toronto on Masassa. Ida stayed. Annie & I left to do the work. Mr & Mrs Davidson called in evening. Archie S came & wanted me to go to Oakville so I went. Heard Army band & had ice cream & chocolates. Had a lovely moonlight drive. Elz Forfar came home with {MJP?}

Sun 19th.. It windy bright day. I went to S.S. & came home Joe hear with buggy to take me up to Sarahs, So got there at 4. They laying around. After tea we all went over to Mrs Altons & went out to see the new barn it lovely building. Then went in house & had a good sing. Mr Alton teasing me about Joe, said he could see now why he was so willing to help Alf in spring. We left for home at 9.30. Got home at 11.30. We eating aples coming home & moon as bright. Had a fine talk.

Mon 20th.. M.W. & Eliz & children drove up to Sarahs

Tues 21st.. nothing new.

Wed 22nd.. Washing It election day between Waldie & Henderson Waldie got elected. Eliz. sick in bed all day.

Thur 23rd.. Ironing.

Frid 24th.. I wrote letter to Josie Gibert & went down in evening & posted it. saw Bertha {Dewent?} in & heard her play for awhile

Sat 25th.. Annie drove Eliz. to station to go to Ham. & she drove on & called for 7 train & brot M.L. & Eliz. home. Sarah was away.

Sun 26th.. Went to S.S. Had Mr Deacon to preach. He preached splendid sermon. Lot of strangers there Joe B & Hannie B & Mr R Blanchard & Austin & Marlon S. & I sat with Mr Kennedy. Just had Archie for tea. Then he drove Annie & I up to M.P. church, it very warm in church. Heard anither good sermon. It very dark & lightning coming home.

Mon 27th.. Washing & E.M. getting load of apples to drive to Toronto.

Tues 28th.. Ironing churning baking. Peach festival at Bronte. Annie Eliz. & M.W. went & I ran to P.O. & back up then went in house Joe B. & Horace W. there. We talked & then I got lantern & we went out & got a melon & ate it. Then Pa & M.L. went to bed. I had to entertain them. They went at 11. We went in parlor & I played & sang for them.

Wed 29. Pa drove Eliz. down to Oakville to go home on boat. S & Alf came down in P.M. I drove down to Oakville after 4 & went to Dentist & had {2?} teeth out then went to Lucy Sheers for tea. Then went to meet Masassah met Ida I a little to late for boat. Ida came. My face ached all the way home & I couldn't get hardly any sleep all night.

Thur 30th.. Blondie sick. I choring around. My face ached all the day. I writing in this. Ida over helping Mrs {W?} sew. A gone to P.O.

Sat 1st.. Sep / 1888. It cool nice day. Hurried & got through work & Annie & I just ready to start for the Street & watch base ball match between Oakville & St Anns when Allie Larkin came in from Newcastle so we took her along. Such a lot at the match. Geo K drove Ada & Charlotte B. over to see it. Had a nice time then drove Josie Alton drove Annie & I to Sarahs, while Allie drove with Sarah & Alf after tea Philus. & Geo Alton came in. We had music & water melon & played "truth & honesty" It 11 when got to bed & I sick.

Sun 2nd.. Annie & I drove home about 10 & Allie S & Alf got down for dinner. I had a nap then went to S.S. Marlon here for tea. After tea S. Alf & I started for street. met church folks going to church.

Mon 3rd.. I helping Sarah wash & churn in eve went over home

Tues 4th.. Ironing & baking. I went over home for pumpkin in P.M. Sarah went over in eve & Philus came back with her. He stayed & we had a fine talk. He offered to take me up to mountain & then home.

Wed 5th.. Expecting thrashers so busy all day.

Thur 6th.. Sep Thrashers came at noon & Allie M.L. & Pa drove up Pa went home before tea so I not ready to go home so Allie went & Paid brot her back on Frid morn. In evening Thrashers all in house & got Mr Alton's man Fred to sing & dance. Had a great time laughing. In the afternoon M.L. & Sarah & I out to see them thrash so I helped Philus carry boxes for awhile so he helped me wash the tea dishes. He washed all himself.

Frid 7th.. Philus Alton's birthday 21 years 1888. Finished thrashing after dinner. Theo A. & M.L. went home. It started to rain & we had intended to have gone over home, but Philus & Wolsely came over & we had mouth organ & singing. Alf went to bed but we had Water melon which Pa brot up in A.M. a very large one so gave it to Philus for his birthday present. Had a great feed & Wolsley & I shooting seeds.

Sat 8th.. After work done, in evening Allie Sarah & I went over home Alf wouldn't go. We had a splendid sing. Mr & Mrs Hixson there. Sang for 2 hours steady. Philus came home with me & Allie & Josie on ahead & then Gertie & Sarah. Had to go to patch to get water melon after got home. It 11 when they went.

Sun 9th.. Got work done & I got dressed when Philus came along. We drove up to mountain Had a lovely drive Saw Lake {M?} It lovely scenery coming home got home at 11. When Had dinner Will Alton there also. Sarah & Alf & Allie went to church & Philus & I came to Bronte, only E.M. home Archie for tea. Then after tea, all went to Oakville to hear Hunter & Crosely preach in new presbyterian church. Philus & I in one buggy & Annie Ida & Archie & E.M. M.W. & Jane B. in the other. It lovely meeting. Got home at 11. one the other folks home B.4 us. Philus & I had a great talk. He wants to keep my company If I would not go with any other fellow. I know Sarah & Alf just put him up to it. He telling all about his property as if that should tempt me. I was to give him an answer the next time I see him. Had water musk melon after got home.

Mon 10th.. Sep 1888. Us washing & churning & busy. M.L. told me Joe was down on Sun when we were all to church but he didn't stay but went to M.P. church. I felt sorry I Sarah & Alf drove Allie home. I drove to P.O. with Alf to get Ida wasn't home.

Tues 11th.. Sep Allie teaching School for Aggie Curtis Max C called on Mon eve to get me to teach his I too busy Wed 12th.. Had Mr Hale from Woodstock come to stay all night He an old Friend of E.M. We had quite a sing & lovely 1st water melon of the season.

Wed 12th.. E.M. & Mr Hale away to Oakville in P.M. I just got my dress changed B4 tho & as I came down who should be at the table but Joe B. He been to Toronto & came off train. We had a walk out around the garden, & to lane gate & a great talk. It nearly 11 when got in & folks just coming out of parlor. Mr Hale going to put his Jewerley on in kitchen as he is an agent for jewerly so M.W. & Ida & Annie chose broches & I got ear rings & E.M. cuff buttons & M.L. collar button. Had a large water melon it after 11 before Joe went. Joe had been to Toronto to see a man about going out to North West but didn't see him so decided not to go until 25th..

Thur 13th.. Mr Hale went to Toronto after dinner. He a great tease. E.M. droive M.W. Allie & Ida & 3 of Bray girls down to Oakville to Crosley & Hunters meeting & I started to write to Frank but got too sleepy so went to bed. The folks didn't get home untill 1.30 as they had to walk all the way hime for E.M. broke the {tung saw?} again when he was backing out of shed.

Frid 14th.. Girls all tired & sleepy didn't get up till late I baking bread & making soap Archie hear in evening Had Mrs McCauley for tea she going to Oakville & then home. Annie going to Toronto to see Exhibition so M.W. drove both up to station.I went to P.O. in bare head met Bertha D & she came up road with me & I went back with her we had a great talk. Folks wondered where I had been. I went to bed & left Archie Allie & Ida singing.

Sat 15th.. Busy. M.L. & Allie went over to Hixsons & Ida & Allie went over to Brays in P.M. after tea Annie came home & Annie C. with her. Expect Will up to night.

Sun 16th.. Rainy day. Ida Annie C & I kept house while they went to church. Will went up shore to see Curtises & Mr Taylor Arthur B & Mr Christie here to spend the evening. To bed at 11.

Mon 17th.. Washing. Hurried tea over & Allie & I drove up to see Mrs Wrinch & family. Aggie just returned from North West. Had a very nice time indeed. Had grapes & singing etc. Went at 10.

Thur 18th.. Looked like rain but Allie Pa & I went down to Toronto on noon train. Allie & I to Aunt Eliza's. Went shoping in P.M. Adrienna & Oscar there & Anson Walton in evening. Had a good sing.

Wed 19th.. Mon. 17th.. was Frank W. birthday he 21. Allie & I up early took train to Exhibition. Got there at 9. Went through building ground Alf Sarah Jane & E.M. in palace

Then met Dave K & Arthur B in out gallery. We went together for a little while until we met Joe B. Philus & Josie A then Dave left us. We all got together after eating our dinner in Skinns office (with Brays Mrs McC. & Kate B.) & Joe & I went over to King but came on shower of rain so waited a while then left. I with Joe most of P.M. We ( 5 couple) went to tea to gether. Joe & I S. & Alf E.M. & Jane, Emma B & Ed Blanchard, Kate B & Chris Stevenson. Then we all went to see fire works together. Had a lovely time. After boys sat beside us all went to train station together. Had a great time getting on train. Such terrible crowds. Left folks at station & never said good bye to everyone. I walked up street with S. & Alf & took car to Aunties.

Thur 19th.. Helping Aunties all day. Saw Floe about 1 min. I went up town with {Anson?} & called for Will & we went up to Ga.s S. & Pa & Archie Forfar & Anson & I for tea. Watson here all night. Will took Annie Anson S. & I out driving. It lovely & moonlight. In at 10.

Frid 21th Stayed at Ga's till after dinner. I reading & singing all A.M. Annie & I drove down for Will at noon. I walked down to Aunties & took car to station for Bronte. Anson went with me. He going home to New Castle also Annie met me. To bed at 9.

Sat 22st.. churning & busy. S. came off noon train & Pa off 6. S. & A went over to see Edith Ingledew. She sick in bed. I writing in this.

Sun 23nd Went to S.S. In choir through service. Marlon S. & his Ma out. Quite a number of strangers A & Alf & Archie here for tea. Hurried up & got work done & went out to Melon patch. Then Joe B. came along & we had quite a talk. He telling me about Minnie Stevinson getting married When S & Alf came along. I put melon in buggy. We had melon in dining room. Archie S. here. They went at 10.30.

Mon 24th.. Girls sewing & I doing house work.

Tues 25th.. Heard Ella McCauley died in A.M.

Wed 26th.. Drove Annie to School & then went to P.O. E.M. & M.W. & Pa went to Hamilton show. Ida sewing tor Ella Eccleston.

Thur 27th.. I very sick all A.M. but sewing & busy all P.M.

Frid 28th.. I went down to see Bertha D in evening & Ida called for me on her way home from Ella's. I took down 2 musk melons Had a real nice time. Very cold coming home.

Sat 29th.. I baking & A also. M.W. & Pa came home on evening train.

Sun 30th.. Very cool weather. Had a splendid sermon went to S.S. Dave K out to Church. I drove home with Archie S. He here for tea. Then I got tea & He took Annie & I to Oakville church to hear Crosley & Hunter in Meth. church. Had a splendid meeting. Rather expected to see Joe B. then but didn't. It so crowded.

Mon 1st.. Oct. 1888. Rainy day. Two Maria's & Sam went to Oakville

Tues 2 Oct. Another rainy day. Mrs Gilespy's birthday. It cleared up at night. So E.M. took A. Ida & I & called ar Brays & took Ada & Jane down to Oakville church to hear Crosley & Hunter for last time they going to Winsor to hold meeting. Had a {pand?} meeting Ada & Jane went forward. Church full. It 10 O'clock when got home.

Wed 3rd.. Oct. Washing & it {?} day. I very sleepy all day. Drove down for Annie met her getting a ride home with John Biggs. I went to bed at 7.30 so tired & sleepy.

Thurs 4th Ironing. It raining in A.M. After done bailing up apples for E.M. to take to Toronto, Ella called this evening Got a new man to work. Came on Mon. noon.

Frid 5th.. Ida & Annie drove themselves to Oakville fair. M.W. & I drying apples in evening.

Sat. 6th.. Geo Kennedy came over in A.M. & sat & talked & I took him out & got some grapes. He helped lift our stove to black. Us busy all day & I rather out of humor.

Sun 7th S. & Alf down. M.L. went home with them after tea. I out to church & SS. Dave K. then I in choir Had a good look at him. {?} I home alone in evening I reading & A singing folks went to B. church. I {?} don't read for thinking about Dave

Mon 8th.. M.W. & I out sorting apples. Sam went along to P.o. He not well nor able to work so he brot our Mail for us & came in. I got dressed & we went & got some grapes then I drove him back.

Tues 9th.. Folks getting ready to go to street to have a shoot Will & Ted Eaton were there & W.G.'s family also at Street.

Wed 10th.. Oct I up early to get E.M. off to train. In evening I went to bed at 8 got sound asleep then Annie called me the Altons came down. Gertie Louisa W {?} & Philus. So I got up & we had music & singing until 12 O'Clock.

Thur 11th.. Annie went with Altons them to go to convention at Milton. Picking apples. Ida & I went for chestnuts down to Kennedy place on Wed it rather late when we got there so only got a few quarts. Had a good time laughing at Geo about the "Island girls."

Frid 12th.. It rainy

Sat 13th.. Rainy again. done work I hurried & got dressed & just got to gate as Dave K did so we had a little talk & he asked to come with me I went to P. O. & came back he in orchard so came up to house with me & layed down & we had quite a talk until 6. Then he went.

Sun 14th.. Went to s.S. & church. Mr Stuart & Husband came up to tree Clarence Lucas & his bride out to church Married on Thur 11. When got home Joe B. here. He stayed till 11. Waiting for Archie to bring Annie home from Alfs so then Joe got a ride home with Archie.

Mon 15th.. Dave K birthday 23rd year. Lovely day. I helping E.M. out doors. I got through work & went up stairs & put on E.M. panse & coat & hat & climbed out window & got down off roof & went over to give Dave K. birthday surprise. Had a moustache manufactured out of feathers. I walked passed front door & looked in Kitchen window saw Geo lightening lantern as I went in front of house to wrap at door & saw Dave K there just as I going to wrap & I felt terrible he said good evening in a disguised way but he couldn't know me & I said I was a particular friend of Mr K & then he came down to me & my moustache gave me {?} & he found out who I was so I wished him a happy New Year just then his mother came to door & called him & I light out for home climbed on house & got my clothes changed & went down stairs as if nothing had happened, I sit tho had could hardly keep my face straight folks all thinking I was in bed. I was only an hour gone.

Tues 16th.. Washing Dr Brick called to see Ida's sore throat. S & Alf down a little while.

Wed 17th.. I churning & made a cake. Dave K came here for dinner I looked to him while I pealing potatoes. He here all after noon I sitting in parlor talking to him. It a great talk. He hear for tea. went down cellar with me & I weighed him to 180. Then after tea he went at 2. for B. & Gus Bumby came & here till 11.

Thur 18th.. E.M. had me up at 15 to 5. cause I up late. Out helping {corner turned) barrel up apples. Miss Jones came a little while. M.W. M.L. went with Mrs W up to hear D.V. Lucas lecture on Palermo on "home grown things in Australia."

Frid 19th.. Rainy Annie didn't go to school so she doing house work.

I went over to see Dave K on Frid took him a loaf of brown bread. He getting better.

Sun 21st.. Oct. Ida birthday she 21 S & Alf down. Had Archie here for tea. I went to SS. but not to church for not feeling well. To bed early.

Mon 22nd.. M.W. & I out sorting apples all day I reading "A young gilrls wooing " by EP Roe which Dave K lent me.

Teus 23rd.. Ict. Out helping E.M. churned 1st.. It's snowed.

Wed 24th.. Nice day washing & out picking apples. Mrs. Kenn. over & said Dave took a bad spell. Ida making over a dress for me.

Thur 25th.. Alf & Josiah here for dinner done cleaning & busy Annie's birthday 24.

Frid 26th.. Boiling soap & reading book. It raining after noon.

Sat 27th.. baking pies & busy till 3. then had a bath in tub. Pa returned from Hamil.

Sun 28th.. Had a nap & went to S.S. stayed for church. Villa C & her intended Mr Husband with her. Stayed for fellowship. Had no stranger for tea. Annie & I went to B. church saw Dave there he went home with Bertha D. Charlotte & Geo K there.

Mon 29th.. I making snow apple Jelly expecting Geo K to come & say Goodbye before he going away but didn't come in house Come & seen E.M. & went away after from telling me Sun eve he were going. Us out picking apples when Bertha D came up she here for tea. I changed dress & showed her fancy work & had a nice time. I got through work after tea & in parlor playing & singing for 2 or 3 hrs. Bertha played such a lot of pieces. Then her & I went out to W.C. & had a talk B4 she went. told her about giving D.K. the birthday surprise & she had a great laugh Wesley D. came up for her. I went to lane gate with her at 10. P.M. When she went home.

Tues 30th.. Nice day out out doors all day sorting apples. Mr Stuart here for tea going to prayer meeting. I writing in this.
